Chapter 500: 7th Seeker Rank

She didn’t say anything, just stepped forward and hugged him tightly. He held her in silence, the mont stretching between them like a warm thread.

They didn’t go back to the tower right away. Instead, Max took her to a quiet corner of the city, bought a house for himself. It was small and peaceful—simple wooden walls, a porch with vines creeping along the railings, and a quiet garden in the back.

They talked for hours. About everything.

Max told her about his family—his mother, his father, his sister. How he missed them, and how every battle he fought, every power he gained, was just a step toward seeing them again.

Alice listened, leaning into his shoulder and while listening she thought her life which she had previously thought was tragic couldn’t compared to Max.

At so point, they stopped talking. There were no more words left to say.

Just the sound of their breathing, steady and soft.

Their fingers intertwined naturally as they sat on the bed, the light of the moon casting silver streaks across the wooden floor.

“Max…” she whispered.

He looked at her, his hand brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Yeah?”

“Promise … you’ll let worry about you next ti.”

He smiled. “I promise.”

They looked at each other for a long ti.

And then, without another word, they leaned in—slowly, gently—against each other. Their bodies intertwined as if drawn together by an unspoken gravity, a tether of need woven through the silence between them.

Fingers trailed over skin like the brush of wind through silk, delicate yet deliberate, and the air grew thick with the perfu of longing.

Breath mingled with breath, heartbeats stuttered and then aligned, and as the moonlight spilled across the sheets like liquid silver, they shed the world and fell—together—into a sacred hush where only heat, touch, and trembling desire remained.

From the very next day, Max threw himself into training with a relentless determination. He no longer cared for rest or distractions; his focus was singular and absolute—to grow strong enough to defeat Drevon.

With roughly one to two years left before the descent of the Citadel, he understood that if he wanted even the faintest chance to fight Drevon on equal footing, his strength had to reach at least the late levels of the Seeker Rank. That ant no hesitation, no rcy, not even for himself.

He began absorbing beast cores one after another, flooding his body with energy, pushing the limits of his cultivation each day.

And what better place to train than the Tower of Truth itself?

Within the cursed region surrounding the tower, he was unmatched—no one could even approach him.

And inside the tower, he held absolute authority. With the demons expelled and the Sun Faction banned, there was no one to challenge his rule.

Therefore, by entering one of the deepest secret rooms of the Tower of Truth—one only accessible to him through his authority—Max beca completely untouchable.

In that hidden chamber veiled in blue runes and humming with ancient energy, he trained in absolute solitude, the outside world unable to reach him.

Every single day, he pushed himself to the brink of his limits and beyond. He focused his mind on comprehending the Concepts of Fla and Lightning, while also refining his understanding of the already acquired but imperfectly grasped Concept of Severing Sword and the Concept of Space.

At the sa ti, he devoured beast cores like they were nothing more than daily als. Dozens at first, then hundreds, all fueling his cultivation like pouring oil into fire. The Tower of Truth itself had enough life essence to elevate him far beyond his current stage, but Max refrained from using it for now.

Instead, he used the hundreds of small-rank beast cores he had acquired from the ancient temple and various other exotic resources ant specifically to aid in advancent within the Seeker Rank. He knew if he didn’t use them now, they’d lose their potency and beco worthless, so he dedicated himself to exhausting them first.

Every single ounce of energy was channeled into strengthening his body, soul, and aura. The secret room served as a perfect crucible for his growth, and the cursed region outside ensured no one dared to disturb him.

The ti he didn’t spend training was reserved entirely for Alice, with whom he shared peaceful monts, quiet als, or walks under the glowing runes of the tower’s interior halls.

Slowly, ti lted away. One month passed, then six, and then, as if in the blink of an eye, a full year flowed by like a quiet tide, dragging Max ever closer to the day of reckoning.

“Finally, I have reached the 7th level of Seeker Rank,” Max whispered to himself as he stood in the glowing blue expanse of the secret room deep within the Tower of Truth. His breathing was calm but heavy with satisfaction. “Lightning Aura and Fla Aura have both evolved into full-fledged Concepts… I’ve made progress with the Concept of Space and the Concept of Severing Sword, and even had breakthroughs in Domain abilities,” he murmured, his thoughts drifting back to the Inheritance Tower within the Black Lotus Guild headquarters.

That mysterious mont still lingered in his mind, when the tower spirit told him that only after reaching Seeker Rank could he unlock the true inheritance of the Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline that slumbered within him.

Now, with his foundation solidified and his strength edging toward the peak of his current realm, Max felt the ti had finally co to pursue that promise. “There’s been no word of the Citadel’s descent yet… which ans I still have ti,” he said to himself, stretching his body as streaks of lightning danced faintly across his arms and sparks of fla flickered around his fingers.

Closing his eyes, Max shifted his perception toward the Chamber of Concepts, the space within the Tower of Truth where most people spent their ti.

His gaze settled on Alice, sitting cross-legged in a ring of warm orange and golden flas, her expression calm and focused. She was trying to grasp the Concept of Flas—her brows furrowed in deep concentration, sweat glistening on her forehead.

‘Even with her bloodline, she’s taking such a long ti,’ Max thought silently, though he didn’t an it in criticism. He understood better than anyone that her bloodline hadn’t fully awakened yet, and without the full strength of its inheritance guiding her comprehension, it was no surprise that her progress was slower.

His mind wandered for a mont to Princess Lenavira. ‘She’s already reached Expert Rank by comprehending the Concept of Light…’ he recalled. She had done it quietly, without drama, and with a grace that lived up to her royal lineage.

As for the others—Aelric, Jack, Alia and other friends of Max—they were still imrsed in the sa silence as Alice, locked away within their own chambers, grappling with their own concepts.

Max knew each of them was fighting their own battle with understanding, trying to find a way to wield the laws of the world.

“It shouldn’t take more than three months so I don’t need to tell anyone about this.” Max muttered. “I have already ntioned Alice about this so she would know if I don’t contact her when she would co out.”

With those words, his body floated as he arrived before very top of the tower.
