"What are you doing here?"
After spending a day exploring Verlun Castle and enjoying a sumptuous dinner inside, Qi Chen discovered that Feng Yuan had disappeared to so unknown location. Growing a bit worried, he asked several staff mbers before learning that Feng Yuan seed to have gone to the pool below.
Feng Yuan glanced at Qi Chen while scattering so strange items into the pool.
"Feeding fish. Didn’t expect there to be so many Spirit Beasts here."
Staring at the Droplet Bubbles leisurely floating on the pool’s surface, Qi Chen was taken aback. Why was this here? A pair of large eyes hidden in the water saw Feng Yuan reaching out as if to touch the Droplet Bubble, suddenly bursting out of the water with a ferocious open mouth towards Feng Yuan.
"Is it a companion of the Little Crocodile～"
Beside him, Veronia glanced at Agunas and smiled, while Agunas flicked its tail nonchalantly. The Spirit Beast was easily recognizable as the Deep Blue Giant Crocodile, a common water-type Spirit Beast. Although it was capable of living in the Deep Sea, the Deep Blue Giant Crocodile still preferred inhabiting shallow water or freshwater areas.
They weren’t particularly surprised to see it here, especially since this pool was simply a space below the cliff surrounding the main castle, transford into a pool by the Verlun family.
Watching the flowers in the pool and the Droplet Bubbles leisurely floating on the surface, Feng Yuan stepped back a few paces.
"I just wanted to take a look at them, is that really so aggressive?"
The Deep Blue Giant Crocodile kept its gaze fixed on Feng Yuan, seemingly treating him as a villain. Veronia chuckled softly.
"Looks like it sees you as a bad guy～"
"But it shouldn’t be interested in those Droplet Bubbles."
Agunas flicked its tail and said. There was a Droplet Bubble with Veronia, and if Feng Yuan was interested in such Spirit Beasts, he could have asked Delong Tower for help at the Water Park. Although Droplet Bubbles were quite rare Spirit Beasts to most people, which was why the Verlun Nobles kept them as pets, to the People of the Great Sea, they weren’t much.
If the Droplet Bubbles were willing, even those working as staff could leave with Feng Yuan; it’s just that he didn’t appreciate them.
Xiao Ji watched the group of Droplet Bubbles warily, as if worried they might win over Feng Yuan’s affection that belonged to it at any ti. "This really does treat like a villain."
Shrugging helplessly, Feng Yuan said. He was rely curious about the Droplet Bubbles’ conditions since it seed they had lived here for quite so ti. As Spirit Beasts of not particularly strong power, their evolutionary difficulty shouldn’t be high, and it didn’t seem like the Verlun Nobles couldn’t afford to support them.
"Speaking of which, why haven’t these Droplet Bubbles evolved yet?"
Veronia curiously examined the Droplet Bubbles. Veronia released her Droplet Bubble to let it play with the others, but they appeared wary of Veronia’s Droplet Bubble at first. After so communication, they visibly relaxed. Veronia looked at them puzzled.
"What is their problem? Why would they be worried about little water drops competing for resources?"
Seeing Agunas’ changing expression, Feng Yuan silently retreated a few steps and approached a nearby staff mber cleaning, whispering sothing. The worker looked at Feng Yuan quizzically before hesitating slightly, then turned and entered the castle.
"He... won’t do anything bad, will he?"
Qi Chen glanced worriedly at Feng Yuan. Knowing Agunas’ personality, he understood it couldn’t stand humans bullying Wild Spirit Beasts. But now, it seed like the Verlun Nobles deliberately suppressed the evolution of the Droplet Bubbles?
"I don’t know, but I think perhaps it’s a misunderstanding."
Shaking his head, Feng Yuan said. Although he found Droplet Bubbles cute, the Nobles might not see it that way. To them, rarity and uniqueness were the generalized aesthetic standards, and once a Droplet Bubble evolved, its ability to purify water resources significantly increased;
The pool, as Feng Yuan discovered, was considered a secondary water source for Verlun Castle. Despite appearing to be just a pool, it’s actually connected to an underground stream that rarely gets contaminated, and with these Droplet Bubbles, even if the castle was besieged, there wouldn’t be a shortage of water.
In fact, Dantia’s Garden Castle and other places were similarly designed. Although aesthetic importance on grandeur matters, Nobles would never totally dismiss practicality, especially properties survived from the Dynasty Era, which were all equipped with various contingency plans.

Even though Ernis advanced technological developnt, when facing Spirit Beasts’ barriers, those technologies weren’t exceptionally effective.
In Feng Yuan’s view, these Droplet Bubbles should indeed be esteed by the Verlun Nobles, otherwise they wouldn’t be entrusted with essential castle water sourcing; only, the evolutionary issues existed unless all the Droplet Bubbles were unwilling to evolve, but how could that be?
Holding Xiao Ji, Feng Yuan observed the Droplet Bubbles. Although they appeared accepting towards Veronia’s Droplet Bubble, they didn’t invite it to play along. The Deep Blue Giant Crocodile hidden in the water watched Feng Yuan’s group, seemingly viewing them all as villains.
At this mont, Long Boduo approached, waving a tray in hand.
"Would you like so snacks?"
"Where did you get this?"

Despite not understanding, Belusir refrained from action. The constantly shifting fate eluded even its discernnt, leaving it powerless.
