Chapter 1727: Chapter 1728: Operation
Combat drones and chanical giant dogs continuously flowed out from the passage. At this mont, Wu Dingwu commanded the Grey Corner to conjure a massive white light ball in front of them. The Little Husky perched atop the A Mu Tree Crown wagged its tail. Feng Yuan could tell he intended to use a combined ultimate move, but how exactly did he plan to do it?
At so unknown ti, Xiao Ji had approached the Grey Corner. As the white light ball expanded to its limit, Xiao Ji cried out loudly, flaring its wings. Pitch-black flas instantly ignited the white light ball. In the next mont, a light beam shot out from the ball, frantically scorching all enemies it touched under the invasion of the pitch-black flas.
At this ti, the students and their Beast Tars in front all quickly retreated to the side. Shortly after, the Grey Corner found itself at the front of the line. The black flas madly consud everything they encountered. Due to Xiao Ji deliberately enhancing the power of the Divine Beasts within, even though it was diluted by the Grey Corner’s power, the flas still caused imnse interference and destruction to the Data Domain.
Seeing the temporarily clear passage, the crowd hurried forward. Although this passage was not long and was straight, Xiao Ji and the Grey Corner had to use their combined attack three tis before successfully passing through.
In an expansive tallic hall, several massive chas stood in the center. Looking at the weapons in the hands of these chas, Qi Chen exclaid in astonishnt,
“Could it be that we have to fight this next?”
“It seems so, but we don’t necessarily have to. Let’s proceed according to the previously discussed plan.”
Narrowing her eyes, Dou Yanlan instructed Cotton to release the War Fog. Ah Mu lifted the Little Husky with vine tendrils and placed it on the ground. Looking up at Ah Mu, Feng Yuan reverted to his original form and asked puzzledly,
“Are you going to join the battle too?”
Xiao Ji let out a long cry, flapping its wings, as black-grey mist mixed into the War Fog. Apart from Feng Yuan and Veronia, everyone else’s perception range was significantly suppressed. The War Fog’s interference effect, infused with Xiao Ji’s power, was incredibly strong, so much so that even the Data Domain constructing this area was affected.
Though the instructors did not follow them into the underground area, they could still monitor everyone’s vital data in real-ti through the Data Domain to ensure they could intervene in ergencies. However, at this mont, affected by the fog, the health monitoring data began to show anomalies.
“This… Shouldn’t they be sharpening in the hall now? How could there be danger there?”
Constantly keeping an eye on the data, a teacher first noticed the anomaly and asked a nearby staff mber, who was playing with a phone, about it. The staff mber was taken aback, pocketed the phone, and surprisedly pulled up the control panel, finding that the Data City had temporarily lost the ability to intervene in the area where the students were located.
While it could confirm that the area was still operating normally, all detection thods had failed. Occasionally, so data appeared, but due to data corruption, it was impossible to rely on it for judgnt.
“I don’t know; let take a look…”
After calling up the logs, the staff reviewed them for a while, then turned to look at the teacher with an inexplicable expression, showing the scene when the fog generated. To ensure there was enough data for future reflection, the Data Domain automatically recorded everything everyone did during this trial.
However, after the War Fog turned dark grey, the Data Domain lost the ability to observe that area.
“This… doesn’t seem like Feng Yuan’s handiwork. Can anyone just break this thing?”
Suspiciously glancing at the staff mber, the teacher hypothesized. The staff mber rolled his eyes and said exasperatedly,
“Didn’t you try it out? Besides, how exactly did they achieve this? We haven’t found any ultimate move capable of blocking the Data Domain’s surveillance. They…”
“Is it because of the War Fog?”
“Impossible. We’ve tested the War Fog, and it doesn’t have this effect.”
Speaking without hesitation, the staff mber imdiately reported the situation. If the opponent’s concealnt was easy enough to achieve, they would need to reevaluate the security level and possible openness of the Data City.
In public areas, especially those crowd-filled, safety concerns are particularly important. If the Oilia Region hadn’t already started using it extensively, they wouldn’t consider opening up the Data City within the year.
This trial is also considered a test for them. If there really are security risks, it would likely erge in the student battles, which is the reason the official agreed to collaborate with the academy in the first place.
The actions taken by their side left teachers and staff puzzled. It wasn’t just Dou Yanlan and the others who couldn’t guess; even Feng Yuan didn’t see it coming. After all, in Feng Yuan’s eyes, the fact that Xiao Ji’s power could influence the Data Domain wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, though he had forgotten how astonishing this was to those who were unaware.
“Strange, what are they doing?”
Feng Yuan crossed his arms in front of his chest, bewilderedly watching Ah Mu and the others fending off the cha’s attacks. Although Data City was affected, the cha had not completely lost its vision; it could still see the nearby Ah Mu and others. However, Feng Yuan felt that even if they wanted to toy with the cha, it probably wasn’t impossible.
After all, although the cha could clearly see nearby objects, its field of vision was limited. If they switched to a faster Beast Tar, the opponent might not even be able to keep up.
Unable to understand what Dou Yanlan and the rest intended, Feng Yuan pulled up the Data City’s panel with a bored expression. Not surprisingly, the entire panel was in a locked state; apparently, they had also anticipated soone utilizing previously applied-for identity IDs to perform similar special access operations.
However, they underestimated Feng Yuan. Pulling out a pitch-black Ancient Book and performing a series of operations, Feng Yuan unlocked the panel. Looking at the displayed map of their current location, he stroked his chin, sowhat amazed.
According to the map, they should be in a high-altitude region of Data City; no buildings existed here. Yet, the research institute before their eyes wasn’t fake, so…
With sothing in mind, Feng Yuan imdiately called up higher-level data. Although Data City had evolved over ti to have strong security asures, its opponent was Feng Yuan. He could even modify it through the Data Domain, causing the Data City, a subordinate of the Data Domain, to stand no chance against his invasion.
“I see, this thod of utilizing is less their discovery and more an originally existing setting, just not yet fully developed.”
Examining the data on the panel, Feng Yuan stroked his chin and spoke. At that mont, Qi Chen ca over intending to call Feng Yuan to leave. Seeing the panel before him, he paused and asked,
“How did you… do that? Isn’t this the Data City’s panel? How did you manage to… bring it up?”
Previously, Dou Yanlan had also tried but she couldn’t even unlock, let alone bring up the data panel. Although this area technically belonged to Data City, nurous restrictions were applied here, including ways to call up hidden panels.
Since Dou Yanlan wasn’t an expert in this field, naturally she didn’t know how to override those restrictions. As for whether any classmates could do it, Feng Yuan wasn’t sure, but he speculated there might be soone capable. However, since the Data City wasn’t widely open, no matter how skilled, it wasn’t naturally proficient in things unfamiliar to them.
“Breaking restriction permissions; though this thing might not yet be fully developed. They probably haven’t noticed that in rule mode, you can see the integrity of each area.”
Feng Yuan said while casually operating the panel. The map model on the panel instantly switched to rows of rule information. Witnessing this scene, Qi Chen exclaid in surprise,
“Is this program code?”
“No, it’s just a special materialization of world rules. The sky connects with reality, and the earth connects with the starry sky. The importance of the Data Domain is rising.”
Gazing at the value of 73%, Feng Yuan sighed. This thing should still be gradually improving, but thinking that the Data Domain had only been shaping for less than a year yet evolved to this state, it’s hard for Feng Yuan not to suspect that it might be another World’s Shadow.
“I have no idea what it thinks, but this thing probably doesn’t relate to the Mirror Image World since it can’t directly overlay reality.”
Noticing Feng Yuan’s gaze, Veronia grumbled while shaking the Rainbow Bubbles beneath her. The World’s Shadow is intended to bear the injuries dealt to the real world, but as for the Data Domain, it certainly can’t directly cover the real world.
