Although the Linjiang Balcony of Gu Yun Pavilion was designed for custors to appreciate the river view up close, considering the need to beautify with decorations, the balcony is not small. Feng Yuan asked the waiter to help set a table and chairs on the balcony to enjoy his al there.
"It really is a special kind of enjoynt~"
Veronia tasted the small dessert brought over and said softly. The desserts for Xiao Ji and others were also being brought to the table. Feng Yuan chuckled and said,
"It’s a pity we can’t get a little closer to the riverbank, maybe it would feel even better~"
Since the riverside location on the first floor of Gu Yun Pavilion is a rather cheap dining area in the hall, even though plants are used to separate the rows of dining tables, it still lacks a touch of uniqueness. Even for weddings, not many people like to choose to hold them there; they usually choose the banquet hall upstairs.
Because the dining area occupies the first-floor riverside location, Gu Yun Pavilion only has river-view private rooms from the second floor upwards. Veronia peeked at the embanknt sloping gently toward the riverbank below and said confusedly,
"Since the river view is so attractive, why don’t they consider extending the riverside platform?"
"Probably because it’s not safe. After all, any further down would be very close to the embanknt. If an accident happens, like a big flood, it would cause a huge trouble. For this shop, safety is more important than an additional, optional feature."
Feng Yuan thought for a mont and replied. He didn’t actually know what the shopkeeper thought, maybe they just thought doing so would affect the aesthetics?
After enjoying the delicious late-night snack, Feng Yuan glanced again at the receding noise across the river and left without any nostalgia.
Early the next morning, Feng Yuan was woken up by Xiao Ji. He looked at Xiao Ji, who was in an Eggshell Chicken form, shook his head with a smile, and said,
"Why did you wake up so early? Today we aren’t going out shopping."
Looking puzzled at Feng Yuan, Xiao Ji tilted his head, not quite understanding what he ant. Feng Yuan stroked the feathers on Xiao Ji’s head and said helplessly,
"Today is the day of the charity gala. At least during the day, we shouldn’t be running around, and besides, there isn’t much worth exploring in Shenhua City."
"That doesn’t seem like you, but it seems you’ve never been interested in Shenhua City. Is there any special reason for that?"
Curious, Veronia looked at Feng Yuan. This wasn’t the first ti he had said that. Could this famous core city of Great Xia really be as uninteresting as he said?
Rolling his eyes, Feng Yuan replied irritably,
"There’s no special reason, Shenhua City is indeed quite nice, but I prefer those tourist cities with historical charm. Shenhua City... falls a bit short."
"Those more prosperous malls, the more bustling comrcial streets, really aren’t much different from those in Maomu City, and here, I can’t find any mories~"
Patting the back of Xiao Ji, who was in eagle form, Feng Yuan placed his hand on Xiao Ji’s head and said,
"In Fan Mu Street of Maomu City, I have mories of when I first sold Spiritual dicine, and I even got cheated by the shop owner that ti~ Moreover, the quality of the Spiritual dicine sold there wasn’t that great..."
Listening to Feng Yuan’s rambling recollections, Xiao Ji spread his wings and squawked, pushing Feng Yuan’s hand off his head and rubbing against him. Feng Yuan laughed heartily and ruffled Xiao Ji’s feathers, ssing them up.
"So true... Every ti I shop in Oilia, I try to find the feeling from the past, only to find out it’s just my own illusion."
Sighing, Veronia glanced at Feng Yuan and said,
"But shouldn’t you be going downstairs to et them now? Maybe a lot of people are expecting you~"
"Forget it, if it weren’t inappropriate, I really wouldn’t want to have any connection with them. What we seek isn’t the sa as what they want."
Feng Yuan shook his head and said helplessly, giving Xiao Ji a light pat before quickly refreshing himself and leaving the room with Xiao Ji.
At this ti, in the hotel’s restaurant, many well-dressed n and won were walking around. Although it wasn’t a formal event and they weren’t dressed in evening gowns, they also weren’t as casually dressed as Feng Yuan was for dining. Feng Yuan knew there was a group of people there busy networking rather than enjoying the breakfast, so he didn’t have much expectation for it.
Veronia couldn’t understand why Feng Yuan bothered dealing with this crowd if he didn’t like them, but Feng Yuan, who was dealing with people trying to network with him, had no ti to explain.
Although Feng Yuan himself didn’t mind, it didn’t an he could just offend this group of people at will. After all, he had friends who might not be able to withstand their sches. Moreover, those people weren’t really disturbing him without any reason; they weren’t fools. Angering Feng Yuan for no reason wouldn’t be as good as not knowing him at all from the beginning.
This led to Feng Yuan feeling a bit annoyed but not extrely bothered. Veronia, on the other hand, wasn’t very interested in these matters, having experienced enough in the past.
"You don’t seem to get tired of this."
After the crowd around Feng Yuan had dispersed, Veronia looked at him and said. Feng Yuan lightly patted Xiao Ji and said helplessly,
"There’s nothing to get tired of, it’s just unavoidable trouble. But fortunately, they aren’t too annoying; that’s a good thing."
With a light laugh, Veronia curiously asked,
"What do you plan to do next? If you don’t leave the hotel, aside from interacting with those people you don’t like, it seems there are no other options~"
"Not necessarily. This ti, the exhibition has quite a few newly discovered artifacts from the Ancient Ruins. Besides, I’m not completely without benefit this ti. Don’t forget, these people are very inford and sensitive to news."
"News?"
Veronia, bewildered, looked at Feng Yuan, not quite understanding what he intended. Feng Yuan smiled proudly and said,
"Yeah, don’t forget I want to acquire the Sky Garden to modify. Not to ntion that so of them can help with these matters, those injured young Spirit Beasts and damaged Spirit Beast Eggs also need ways to obtain, right? And afterwards, choosing their Beastmasters isn’t sothing I can handle alone."
"So, you’re preparing for the future?"
Veronia was amazed at Feng Yuan’s dealings with people he didn’t like, surprised by the reason behind it all. Raising his hands in resignation, Feng Yuan said,
"What else? If Agunas were here, maybe it could lend a bit of help. Now, I can only do it myself. But even if it were here, it couldn’t help much. These matters really aren’t suitable for it to ddle in."
No matter what, Agunas is a Divine Beast, and getting too involved with humans isn’t a good thing. As for Feng Yuan, he’s only a bit bothered, due to having handled similar matters before, dealing with them wouldn’t be too difficult.
"So, have you managed to solve those troubles?"
Thinking about Feng Yuan exchanging contact information with many people earlier, had he already settled it? Veronia looked at him, and Feng Yuan sighed,
"It’s not that simple, it’s just getting acquainted with them. There are still many follow-up tasks to do. Moreover, when I get hold of the Sky Garden, I’ll need to apply for permission with Maomu City. Otherwise, that thing can’t float above the city."
"Why don’t I help you with so things? I’m not really fond of this place."
Looking at Feng Yuan, Veronia suggested. Feng Yuan thought for a while, suspiciously sizing up Veronia, and said,
"You’re not planning to use your Divine Beast identity for sothing, are you? There’s no need for that, and doing so might cause trouble."
Unlike Agunas, Veronia wasn’t known for restraint. If it acted recklessly, Feng Yuan wouldn’t necessarily know or be able to intervene in ti. While he had many troubleso things to deal with, he worried that letting Veronia help might create more problems.
Veronia glanced at Feng Yuan with displeasure and said,
"Are you suggesting I can’t handle it? Forget it, I was going to help you find Yimu Qingling to co over, but now it seems I’ll leave you to sort it out yourself."
Hearing this, Feng Yuan smiled awkwardly, but he didn’t mind. Yimu Qingling had its own matters to attend to, so there was no need to involve it in dealing with this heap of trouble.
