Now reading: Chapter 178 - 178 178 Divergence1 from Divine Beast Creator, a Eastern novel by Salted fish on a fishing rod.

178: Chapter 178 Divergence_1 178: Chapter 178 Divergence_1 The ground was covered with deep purple cracks, the sky filled as various death-type spirit beasts continuously flew out from the colossal city, and on the streets, mysterious steles suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Wherever the steles erged, all living creatures found themselves unable to leave their vicinity.

“Damn it!

What on earth is he trying to do!”

Realizing he was entirely unable to move beyond the range of the stele, Captain Chen cursed, while Yu Xian’er tried everything she could without success to break free from the restriction.

“What are you doing?”

A calm voice tinged with confusion rose from behind Feng Yuan.

He turned to find the strange man who called himself Wei, whom he had t once before, looking around calmly, Feng Yuan said,

“Xiao Ji has been kidnapped.

I’m looking for it.”

“Oh?”

Wei’s pale face showed a trace of curiosity as he spoke,

“You’re going through all this trouble just because of that?”

“I haven’t killed a single person.

That’s enough for .

As long as I can find Xiao Ji, what’s a little trouble?”

Wei fell silent for a mont before he slowly began to speak,

“Do you know who kidnapped Xiao Ji?”

“I don’t.”

Feng Yuan described what had happened before, and after a mont of silence, Wei said,

“It’s very likely the work of the Shadow Demon Gang.

As it happens, I know where they are holed up here; I’ll take you there.”

Feng Yuan glanced at Agunas, and a giant black dragon burning with dark blue flas appeared under their feet.

Its massive head lifted the two of them as Feng Yuan said with a light laugh,

“Walking’s too slow, flying over would be faster.

Do a favor and lead the way.”

Wei was taken aback at first, then he smiled slightly and started to guide Feng Yuan.

The black dragon carrying them both flew across the air, following the direction Wei pointed out.

While the three were still arguing about what to do next, dark tendrils suddenly burst through the walls from the outside, tightly binding the spirit beasts and people within the room.

Following the tendrils, Feng Yuan rushed to Black Cat, snatched up Xiao Ji in his arms, and whispered apologetically,

“Found you—sorry…”

Xiao Ji weakly opened its eyes, let out a feeble cry and buried itself into Feng Yuan’s embrace.

Holding Xiao Ji, he approached the ensnared Dreaming Dragon Baby and released it, saying softly,

“Sorry…”

The Dreaming Dragon Baby shook its head and nuzzled Feng Yuan, coiling around his shoulder.

After whispering to Xiao Ji and the Dreaming Dragon Baby for a while, Feng Yuan looked coldly at the three people and said,

“How should I repay you for causing all this trouble?”

Agunas breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Feng Yuan recover Xiao Ji and the Dreaming Dragon Baby.

He waved his hand, and the rampaging shadows and death-type spirit beasts gradually vanished into thin air, the ancient city in the sky slowly fading away into the night, leaving only the deep purple cracks on the ground and the now-vanished stele.

Captain Chen said in surprise and suspicion,

“What’s he going to do now?”

Yu Xian’er shook her head and looked in a certain direction, where dark clouds spiraled into a vortex in the sky.

Captain Chen, with a solemn expression, told Yu Xian’er,

“We’re leaving!”

“What on earth happened here…”

The police officer who arrived beneath the dark cloud looked on blankly ahead, where the black tendrils burst from the ground, pierced into a rundown hotel room and then recoiled out toward the high sky.

A middle-aged police officer suppressed his fear and said,

“Don’t worry about what happened, let’s go see if anyone is hurt first!”

After a while, a breathless Captain Chen and Yu Xian’er arrived at the scene, looking at the still-growing black tendrils, Captain Chen asked Yu Xian’er,

“Can you figure out where he is?”

Yu Xian’er closed her eyes and remained silent for a while before pointing towards the sky.

Following the direction she indicated, Captain Chen, panting, asked,

“Can you take up there?

If not, help bring that bastard down.”

Yu Xian’er nodded, and with a wave of her hand, a bubble appeared beneath Captain Chen.

Crouching on the bubble, Captain Chen rose into the air with Yu Xian’er.

In the sky, the dark tendrils ford a circular platform, and in the center of the platform, a dark orb enveloped the three mbers of the Shadow Demon Gang.

Xiao Ji curled silently in Feng Yuan’s arms, watching the grim-faced trio within the orb, while Wei watched for a mont and then calmly asked,

“You’ve got your spirit beast back, what are you planning to do now?”

“I’ll see how it goes, although I’m loath to give up the peaceful life I have now…”

As Feng Yuan spoke, he sighed.

Xiao Ji nuzzled against him, and the Dreaming Dragon Baby lay silently on his shoulder, its tail swishing as if in contemplation, while Big Cat quietly followed behind Feng Yuan, its gaze darting around as if deep in thought.

“Now you realize the trouble you’re in?”

Feng Yuan turned calmly and saw Captain Chen squatting on a bubble, full of rage as he looked at him.

After jumping down from the bubble and landing on the platform, Captain Chen unleashed a tirade on Feng Yuan.

After a long while, seeing that Feng Yuan was still looking at him calmly, Captain Chen roared,

“What on earth do you want to do?

Do you realize how big of a ss you’ve made this ti?

To put it seriously, this is an attack on the city!”

Turning to look at the three people within the light sphere, Feng Yuan said calmly,

“They wanted to snatch Xiao Ji.”

“You don’t trust us!”

“And what if I don’t?

Can you find them imdiately?”

Caught off guard by Feng Yuan’s question, Captain Chen fell silent, and then Old Wei said with a smile,

“So annoying guy has arrived, I’ll be taking my leave first.

I hope I can still see you outside next ti.”

After giving an ancient salute to the two n, Old Wei leapt down from the platform.

Captain Chen, squinting his eyes at the spot where the other man had vanished, demanded,

“Who is he!”

“Don’t know, but he’s an interesting person.”

“Agunas, can you open the gate to the realm of the dead?”

Agunas looked at Feng Yuan with a mix of surprise and confusion, not understanding what he planned to do.

Disgustedly glancing at the three people in the light sphere, Feng Yuan suggested,

“Drag them into the realm of the dead and let those Death-type Spirit Beasts deal with them slowly.”

“No!

You can’t just deal with them on your own!”

“Why not?”

Seeing that Feng Yuan’s gaze was void of emotion, Captain Chen stayed silent for a mont before saying,

“If you dispose of them privately, who will prove you’re the victim?”

“Since when do attackers of a city get to be considered victims?

It seems that Maomu City has so serious problems!”

A middle-aged man, standing atop an Ice Crystal Giant Bird made entirely of ice-blue crystal, spoke disdainfully.

After jumping down from the Ice Crystal Giant Bird, he waved his hand, and several powerful Spirit Beasts surrounded Feng Yuan and Captain Chen.

The man looked at Captain Chen with so disdain and asked,

“When did the Special Service Squad start colluding with criminals?”

Captain Chen remained silent, looking at him, while Feng Yuan said without care,

“So what do you propose?”

Agunas watched the group of Spirit Beasts warily, and the Ice Crystal Giant Bird in the sky kept a vigilant eye firmly fixed on Agunas.

Noting the Ice Crystal Giant Bird’s unusual behavior, the man pondered for a mont before saying,

“Co back with for an investigation, I assure you, you’ll be treated fairly.”

“Fine, but let deal with these three first!”

Feng Yuan put Xiao Ji on his head, drew out his Greatsword, and got ready to act.

The middle-aged man shouted,

“Don’t push your luck!

Stop right now!

This instant!”

“I think he might have already lost his senses.

Seize him, we’ll cure him.”

Another lean middle-aged man jumped off the Ice Crystal Giant Bird, watching Feng Yuan with interest.

The middle-aged man turned and yelled at him,

“Yuan Jianhua!

Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to!”

“Yo, yo, yo—could it be that Elder Li is considering protecting a criminal?”

Seeing a dispute seemingly arise between the two, Feng Yuan raised his Greatsword silently, ready to approach the three n.

Snow Child stepped in front of Feng Yuan to block him,

“Move aside.”

Snow Child stood firm in front of Feng Yuan, staring intently at him.

Suddenly sensing sothing wrong behind him, Feng Yuan had yet to defend himself when a pitch-black barrier rose up to block the attack.

Feng Yuan turned and stared coldly at the two n, saying,

“You, ready to make a move?”

Elder Li glared at Yuan Jianhua, who had commanded his Spirit Beast to act, and then addressed Feng Yuan,

“Cease your actions!”

“Heh.”

Just then, a lodious song drifted through the air, and Agunas along with Xiao Ji and the other Spirit Beasts felt their energy surge within them.
