The Maze of Mirrors is considered a recreational spot, made up of nurous mirrors. These specially-designed mirrors are effective even for observing spiritual power. Additionally, the Maze of Mirrors incorporates the power of the Data Domain, where certain areas overlap and intertwine with the Data Domain thanks to the efforts of the Cast Cubes.
Using the properties of the Data Domain, the Maze of Mirrors is much larger than its actual footprint.
This vast space allows the Maze of Mirrors to accommodate many visitors at once, so when Feng Yuan and the others arrived, they didn’t have to wait long for their turn.
"So many reflections!"
Feng Yuan said in amazent, waving his hands around. Although his Divine Sense could easily discern these Phantoms, he wouldn’t spoil the fun since they were out to play.
Xiao Ji spread its wings curiously, looking at its reflection in the mirror. Countless reflections of Xiao Ji mimicked its actions, but as Xiao Ji found it amusing, one of the "Xiao Ji" suddenly twisted its waist.
Startled, Xiao Ji quickly turned its head to look, only to find that the "Xiao Ji" was making different gestures, this ti it directly flapped its wings.
Calling out to Feng Yuan a few tis, Xiao Ji anxiously pointed its wings at the area created by the infinite reflections of multi-dinsional mirrors.
Puzzled, Feng Yuan patted Xiao Ji’s head and looked in the direction it was pointing, but found nothing unusual.
The mirrors in this part of the Maze of Mirrors were specially designed, making the reflections almost indistinguishable from the real images. Hence, even Feng Yuan had to rely on touch to determine where Xiao Ji was without special ans.
Seeing everything return to normal, Xiao Ji remained slightly unsettled, a mix of curiosity and unease. Feng Yuan chuckled at its suspicious and skittish appearance, pulling Xiao Ji into his arms.
Comforted by Feng Yuan’s embrace, Xiao Ji felt sowhat relieved. But when it glanced around again, it noticed one of the Feng Yuan reflections holding a "Xiao Ji" with a wicked grin. Suddenly, the "Xiao Ji" in its arms exploded like a balloon, startling Xiao Ji.
"What’s wrong again?"
Seeing the struggles of the Xiao Ji in his arms, Feng Yuan asked in confusion, though Xiao Ji didn’t quite know how to explain.
"Why do I see a reflection doing sothing completely different from what I do?"
Qi Chen asked puzzledly. Xiao Ji nodded vigorously, and Feng Yuan turned to them upon hearing the voice and said.
"Didn’t I ntion? It’s quite evident there’s Ghost Series Spirit Beasts playing tricks here. Otherwise, why would I ask Xiao Ji to restrain its presence? Those Ghost Series Spirit Beasts aren’t that strong; there’s no need to fear them."
He’s not too concerned about it, having initially guessed that Ghost Series Spirit Beasts would appear here, given how well they suit the Maze of Mirrors.
Qi Chen relaxed upon Feng Yuan’s explanation, having thought the differing reflections were so special chanism, not realizing it was the Ghost Series Spirit Beasts’ doing.
Unlike Qi Chen, Xiao Ji was embarrassed and furious after being frightened. It promptly released its presence, unsurprisingly spooking the wickedly grinning "Feng Yuan" into a puff of Black Mist and disappearing into the mirror images.
In truth, this mainly relates to the authenticity of the reflections in the Maze of Mirrors. These mirrors almost eliminate any reflections; even Feng Yuan finds it hard to differentiate the real from the reflected solely by sight without special ans.
Under such conditions, the infinite reflections beco the best hiding spots for those Ghost Series Spirit Beasts.
Gently patting Xiao Ji’s head, Feng Yuan said helplessly.
"You should restrain your presence; scaring away the Ghost Series Spirit Beasts spoils the fun."
Looking at Feng Yuan with grievance, Xiao Ji unwillingly withdrew its presence. Although Xiao Ji retreated its presence, the dispersal effect it caused wouldn’t dissipate quickly.
Fortunately, the Ghost Series Spirit Beasts here are inherently playful and mischievous, so soon, everyone could see the Ghost Series Spirit Beasts performing in the reflections once more.
Even with Feng Yuan’s revelation, Xiao Ji wasn’t as frightened. Of course, it didn’t dare wander too far, choosing to walk on its own.
Wasn’t Feng Yuan also cautiously feeling around to avoid bumping into the mirrors? The greatest challenge of the Maze of Mirrors is finding the path amid endless reflections, especially when encountering forks, as no one knows where they lead.
Almost blindly navigating the maze resulted in a slow pace for Feng Yuan and the others. Feng Yuan suspected that the Ghost Series Spirit Beasts might control the secret doors within the pathways; otherwise, they should’ve encountered the previous visitors by now.
"Hmm, it’s interesting at first, but seems nothing much beyond that. Can’t clearly see the path; it’s annoying."
Given the overly realistic reflections, they’re akin to being half-blind, leaving them occupied with finding their way. What might have been amusing initially soon wore thin, leading even Qi Chen to so impatience.
Veronia snorted, saying.
"Do you expect them to create sothing spectacular?"
Perhaps angered by Veronia’s words, the reflections began changing, shifting from simple infinite reflections to strange visuals. Different space scenes abruptly appeared within the mirrors, and the road ahead was fragnted, no longer a continuous blurry realm.
Yet even with such changes, it didn’t make pathfinding any easier, as Feng Yuan realized these Phantoms had covered the real pathways on the ground.
In other words, although things appear cleaner than before, rashly picking a path still carries a high likelihood of bumping into mirrors.
"Hmm, it changes? That’s sowhat okay, but still feels lacking."
Shaking his head, Feng Yuan continued cautiously proceeding, distrusting the new setup. Previously, only reflections existed; now even the ground was obscured—there had to be issues.
Qi Chen hadn’t noticed this detail, but as he moved along the revealed pathway, he suddenly sensed danger, stopping and hesitatingly urging Ah Mu to reach forward, hitting a mirror.
Seeing Feng Yuan ahead, Qi Chen looked perplexed.
Detecting Qi Chen’s anomaly, Feng Yuan turned, pondering before borrowing Xiao Ji’s power to ignite a bluish fla in his hand.
Mysteriously, the fla couldn’t be mirrored, making the lone Feng Yuan with the fla stand out among countless identical actions.
Seeing Feng Yuan’s position clearly, Qi Chen said in disbelief.
"Why are you there?"
"Seems like there’s a turn; didn’t you notice?"
Laughing, Feng Yuan replied, highlighting the maze’s challenge: an inattentive mont could lead to separation; Qi Chen hadn’t realized he wasn’t following Feng Yuan.
Scratching his head, Qi Chen smiled sheepishly, admitting he montarily drifted.
Dou Yanlan watched Qi Chen in confusion, falling behind and within a visual blind spot. While she saw nurous Feng Yuan reflections, she couldn’t locate the real Feng Yuan.
But hearing their exchange, she paid a bit more attention while proceeding, soon catching up with the two. Seeing Feng Yuan’s singular fla, Dou Yanlan exclaid.
"Such a technique exists?"
"Hmm, certain Ultimate Moves can’t be easily duplicated, especially as these mirrors were specially treated. But, this almost cheating-like thod does spoil so fun."
Extinguishing the fla, Feng Yuan chuckled without extensive explanation, noting that the fla was Xiao Ji’s Authority Flas rendered affectless against standard mirrors. Yet, the mirrors in the Maze of Mirrors had been treated, allowing for lifelike reflections.
Consequently, with Spirit Beast power, certain Ultimate Moves not projected remain unaffected by reflections, resulting in only Feng Yuan appearing with a fla.
"Do you want to try leading the way? Now with things changed, it doesn’t seem as simple anymore."
Looking at the two, Feng Yuan smiled slightly as he spoke, Dou Yanlan pondering before suggesting.
"How about letting Ah Chen try first?"
Though she was unsure about the current layout, she noticed Qi Chen’s combat intuition seed effective in such an environnt.
Scratching his head, Qi Chen tentatively led Ah Mu past Feng Yuan, admitting hesitantly.
"I’m not great at navigating mazes."
