366: Chapter 366 The Significance of the G Organization_1 366: Chapter 366 The Significance of the G Organization_1 “The Data Domain, huh…”

Gazing at the consultation docunt brought by the Ministry of External Affairs, the Grand Elder pondered for a while before speaking to the secretary by his side,

“Call Xiao Li here, I have so questions for him.”

After a while, Elder Li entered the office with so confusion and knocked on the door,

“Grand Elder, you were looking for ?”

The Grand Elder passed the docunt in his hands and said,

“Take a look at this first.”

Elder Li received the docunt with bewildernt and rapidly skimd it where he stood, his face showing a hint of delight as he said,

“This is good news!

As long as we can solve the communication issues in the wild, the safety of those Beastmasters venturing out will be greatly ensured.”

His fingers absentmindedly tapping the desk, the Grand Elder glanced at the sowhat excited Elder Li and remarked,

“Haven’t you considered sothing?”

“What?”

Seeing the puzzled expression on Elder Li’s face, the Grand Elder massaged his forehead and spoke,

“About the situation in Maomu City, you didn’t disclose everything to , did you?”

“Maomu City?…

Grand Elder…

you know?”

The Grand Elder gently tapped the returned docunt on the table and said with resignation,

“The Data Domain, Ernis, Maomu City, the convergence of these three points is clearly related to him, but in the reports you submitted, it seems you’ve entirely overlooked his presence.”

“I…”

“I’m well aware of your purpose; it’s to protect him while also safeguarding them.

You don’t need to worry, they’ve just been warned and probably won’t dare to be so reckless.”

The Grand Elder continued, looking at the official letter pressed under the docunt on the table, which stated that mbers of the Elder Council had exploited the G Organization to create a terror event in Featherwood City and demanded that the Elder Council deal with the issue.

After a period of silence between the two, the Grand Elder handed over the official letter to Elder Li and told him,

“You’ll handle this matter.”

“This is…

I didn’t expect he would do sothing like this…”

“Everyone has their own selfish motives, and his…

were excessive.

You are the one I have the most faith in; I hope you won’t stray from the right path…”

“Could it be…”

Elder Li looked up in surprise at the Grand Elder, who although appeared aged, Li distinctly rembered that even when he joined the Elder Council over a decade ago, the Grand Elder had looked just the sa, as if ti had halted for him.

The Grand Elder gave a wistful smile and remarked,

“Don’t you think I’ve been in this position for too long?”

“They are probably tired of by now; they just don’t dare say it out loud.”

“Grand Elder…”

The secretary, looking sowhat concerned at the Grand Elder, received a dismissive wave, as the Grand Elder stood up and walked over to a cabinet, pulling out an extrely worn manual.

Flipping through it, an aged photograph slipped out.

He picked up the photograph, featuring two vibrant young n smiling, and the Grand Elder fell into a reverie.

After a long while, he sighed, slipped the photograph back into the manual, and said,

“I hope you can prepare to take over the Elder Council sooner rather than later.

I don’t have much ti left.

Even though he keeps extending my life, miracles like his can’t be repeated indefinitely.

I certainly wouldn’t want the people succeeding the Elder Council to be them.”

Turning around, the Grand Elder looked earnestly at Elder Li and declared,

“If the Elder Council, as a haven for Divine Pact Makers, were to be infiltrated by those people, it would not bode well.”

“I understand, but…”

“They won’t do anything.

The higher-ups understand the significance of the Elder Council’s existence.

Those jesters won’t be making trouble for long, and now, hasn’t this been dealt with?”

After talking with Elder Li for a long ti, the Grand Elder felt sowhat exhausted and, after asking Elder Li and the secretary to leave, he stood up and walked through the passageway he usually took to return to his resting room after etings.

Torches flickered on both sides of the hallway, casting dancing shadows along the ground until he left the passageway and returned to his resting room.

None of the events the Grand Elder had been anticipating occurred, and with a sigh, he said softly,

“It seems that this is also quite a trouble for you.”

“Unfortunately, I might have to leave first.

I don’t know if you’ll ever be able to achieve your goal…”

Looking at his wrinkled hands, the Grand Elder sighed.

He had kept a secret from Elder Li, and, truth be told, he might not be much better than those people.

“Divine Beasts…

what exactly do you care about…”

“Where did you take them to eat?

Is there really a buffet restaurant bold enough to let Spirit Beasts and Beastmasters dine in?”

At night, in the dormitory, Qi Chen looked at Xiao Ji sowhat surprised and said to Feng Yuan, placing Xiao Ji on the table.

Feng Yuan, puzzled, asked,

“How did you guess that I took them out for good food?”

“Xiao Ji is obviously chubbier.

What else could it be if not stuffed with too much food?”

“Is it wrong for Xiao Ji to store fat for the winter?”

As he spoke, Feng Yuan reached out and poked Xiao Ji’s belly, causing Xiao Ji to glare at him disgruntled.

Qi Chen glanced at Feng Yuan and said,

“Since when do Eggshell Chickens have the habit of storing fat?

Plus, winter is almost over.

You’re telling it’s storing fat for the winter now?”

“Can’t you just pretend to believe it?”

“I can’t.”

Sitting on the bed and after so thought, Feng Yuan left out what he couldn’t tell Qi Chen and then related the day’s events.

After hearing Feng Yuan’s story, Qi Chen hesitated for a mont and quietly asked,

“Can I see that video?”

Feng Yuan casually drew a screen of light and tossed it in front of Qi Chen.

Although it was strange to see the odd device Feng Yuan had produced, when the video started playing, Qi Chen suppressed his curiosity and watched the video calmly.

After a while, the video ended, and looking at the screen that had turned black, Qi Chen closed his eyes and fell silent for a long ti before saying,

“Have they gone mad?”

“Who knows, making a move at a ti like this seems like asking for trouble.”

“The lunatics of the G Organization…”

Qi Chen was sowhat relieved.

If it weren’t for Feng Yuan’s intervention, the West City District might not have been saved at all.

After all, no one expected soone to be crazy enough to completely destroy an entire district of a city.

Despite the West City District being old and having flaws in its defense system, based on the explosion seen in the video, even the East City District with the strongest defense would likely not have fared much better.

“This wasn’t the work of the G Organization, or rather, not sothing the true followers of the G Organization would do.”

Seeing Qi Chen’s puzzled look, Feng Yuan swiped his finger and sent several screens displaying news to Qi Chen.

After reading the news, Qi Chen speculated and looked at Feng Yuan in surprise, saying,

“Could it be…”

“Don’t forget what the G Organization’s research is about: enabling humans to possess the power of Spirit Beasts without relying on a Beast Tar’s pact, and though they’re always doing illegal human experints…”

Understanding what Feng Yuan left unsaid, Qi Chen said in disbelief,

“Why!

How can they just let this happen unchecked!”

“No, they’ve intervened.

But you must understand, where there is light, there will be shadows.

For so people, as long as the goal is reached, illegal ans are not off the table either, especially since conventional channels have completely banned related experints, so…”

“Otherwise, why do you think the G Organization has been around for so long?”

“Honestly, I’m not quite sure whether the experints of the G Organization are good or bad…”

Feng Yuan sighed and said, Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan in astonishnt and asked,

“Why would you think that?

Aren’t those illegal human experints truly abhorrent?

With so many innocent people taken away, how could you possibly…”

“If the current situation continues to deteriorate, what do you think of the G Organization’s research?”

Qi Chen, taken aback by Feng Yuan’s counter-question and recalling those experintal subjects with terrible characters and a disdainful attitude towards Spirit Beasts, had to admit that their power grew much faster than that of ordinary people.

Now, the very first batch of subjects rescued had generally achieved Rare Level strength, and so had even broken through to Legendary Level power.

After pondering for a while, Qi Chen was amazed to realize that those experintal results actually represented sothing quite significant in a certain sense.
