As the group of ard n burst in, a flicker of excitent flashed deep in Jiang Tianquan’s eyes.
He had secretly colluded with these ruthless bandits, orchestrating a plan to kidnap the wealthy guests on board. The agreent was to split the extorted assets fifty-fifty. However, Jiang Tianquan had added one more condition: they had to kill a few specific people during the chaos.
And, crucially, no one could suspect his involvent. Zhang Yaqing and her friends were the ones he had personally marked for death.
Although he and the bandits were perfectly clear on the plan, they still had to put on a convincing show.
He walked out with his hands raised, demanding righteously, "Who are you? How dare you commit robbery here? You must have a death wish! This ball is hosted by my Jiang Family!"
"We’re here to rob the Jiang Family!" The lead bandit, playing his part to perfection, landed a vicious kick on Jiang Tianquan.
Jiang Tianquan scread in pain and rolled across the floor several tis.
Chen Xiao’s expression turned frigid.
Jiang Tianquan was a Martial Artist at the Mid Grandmaster Stage. While the bandit had a gun, he was just an ordinary person. A kick like that could never have caused such damage to a martial artist of Jiang Tianquan’s level.
It’s obviously an act.
He glanced at the pale-faced won beside him and whispered, "When you get the chance, hide behind that iron gambling table. Leave the rest to ."
The won swallowed hard and nodded silently. In such a perilous situation, their only choice was to trust Chen Xiao, especially since their attackers were ard with submachine guns of terrifying lethality. If a full-blown massacre broke out, no one would be able to withstand the onslaught.
The bandit leader stepped forward and pressed his submachine gun against Jiang Tianquan’s head. "All the chips on the floor are ours now," he said coldly. "Any objections?"
Jiang Tianquan feigned outrage. "You act with such impunity! You’ll face retribution for this!"
The bandit leader sneered inwardly. You son of a bitch. You’re the one with the blackest heart here; this was all your damn idea, and you’re still putting on an act with ?
He had nothing but contempt for a hypocrite like Jiang Tianquan. Without another thought, he raised the submachine gun and smashed it against Jiang Tianquan’s head.
Blood imdiately stread from the wound as Jiang Tianquan grimaced in pain.
This guy is actually hitting for real? Wasn’t this supposed to be an act? Then again, this makes it more realistic. If an investigation follows, I’ll be a genuine ’victim’ and can completely distance myself from this. Afterwards, I’ll just find a chance to get rid of these bandits, and the entire affair will be perfectly seamless.
The bandit leader feigned control over Jiang Tianquan while the other four bandits forced the guests to transfer their money, instantly shooting anyone who hesitated in the head. In a matter of monts, several people lay dead. They died with their eyes wide open, a testant to the bandits’ extre cruelty.
Chen Xiao’s gaze turned exceptionally cold. Jiang Tianquan was utterly depraved. He had colluded with these bandits to rob the wealthy attendees of the cruise ball for two reasons: first, to amass a fortune, and second, to use the "accident" to eliminate Luo Qingli, Zhang Yaqing, and the others.
If he hadn’t co tonight, one could only imagine what would have beco of Luo Qingli and her friends.
The four bandits were drawing closer and closer to Chen Xiao’s group. He noticed their gazes sweeping, intentionally or not, over Luo Qingli and the other won.
The distance closed. Ten ters, then five... Both sides harbored their own sinister motives.
Just as two of them were focused on robbing another guest, Chen Xiao exploded into action.
"You’re courting death!" The remaining two bandits imdiately raised their machine guns and aid at Chen Xiao.
However, before they could even pull the triggers, their heads exploded. Chen Xiao had taken each one out with a single punch, instantly shattering their skulls.
This sudden carnage sent a chill down the spines of the last two bandits. Snapping out of their shock, they imdiately unleashed a torrent of gunfire at Chen Xiao. A dense web of fire erupted, but Chen Xiao moved like lightning, weaving through the deadly hail of bullets.
SWISH, SWISH, SWISH, SWISH!
The Silver Needles Chen Xiao had kept concealed in his hand shot out.
A dozen Silver Needles transford into streaks of silver light, piercing the bandits’ heads, necks, and hearts. Both n’s eyes bulged as they collapsed, dead before they hit the floor.
The room once again erupted into chaos.
Luo Qingli imdiately grabbed the other dazed won and pulled them behind the iron gambling table for cover.
Seeing Chen Xiao instantly kill four bandits ard with submachine guns, Jiang Tianquan’s eyelids twitched violently. Useless fools! I never imagined Chen Xiao would dare to fight back under the suppressive fire of four submachine guns. The man’s a complete lunatic!
Seeing his brothers killed, the bandit leader’s eyes turned murderously cold, his glare so intense it looked as if he wanted to eat Chen Xiao alive.
Suddenly, a new commotion erupted from the deck below, followed by the roar of heavy gunfire. The entire Alice shuddered.
A team of heavily ard special forces stord the hall, dozens of gun barrels trained on the lone remaining bandit leader.
The bandit leader’s face turned ashen. He knew it was all over.
Jiang Tianquan’s expression turned frigid. How did the authorities get here so fast? He had specifically chosen the cruise ship and calculated the timing perfectly. Under normal circumstances, even if the Yuncheng City officials dispatched an ergency response team, it should have taken them over an hour to arrive. Yet, not even ten minutes had passed since the incident began. He sensed that sothing was terribly wrong.
Dressed in a bulletproof vest and tactical helt, Li Buyi strode out from behind the special forces team. His voice was ice-cold as he addressed the bandit leader.
"Your accomplices are all dead. Put your weapon down now, and we might leave you with an intact corpse."
The bandit leader let out a wild laugh. "In my line of work, you make peace with death a long ti ago! I admit defeat today! But seven of my brothers are dead because of you. I’m not going to make this easy for you!"
Chen Xiao suddenly spoke up. "You couldn’t have infiltrated the Alice and caused this much chaos without an inside man. Tell us who your contact is, and we might let you live. So many people died tonight. The one who colluded with you must pay the price."
Li Buyi nodded. "That’s right. If you confess everything, you might be able to save your own life."
The bandit leader looked at Li Buyi. "If I tell you everything, you’ll really let go?"
Before he could finish his sentence, Jiang Tianquan—who had been playing the part of a helpless lamb—suddenly moved. He knocked the barrel of the submachine gun aside and shot his hand forward, his fingers clamping around the bandit’s throat like an iron vise.
CRACK!
The bandit leader’s eyes bulged as he stared at Jiang Tianquan, then he collapsed, his body stiff.
Jiang Tianquan glared coldly at the fallen bandit leader, sighing in relief internally. A dead man tells no tales.
Then, he turned to Li Buyi. "City Governor Li, these bandits are cunning and vicious. Just now, I noticed that while he was pretending he would confess, he was actually secretly pulling the trigger to try and kill . I had to act preemptively to eliminate him. Everything I did was in self-defense. I trust you don’t mind? After all, my life is a small matter. But what if he had killed and then turned his gun on the other guests in a frenzy? I can disregard my own life, but I cannot disregard the lives of every guest here, can I?"
His voice was firm and righteous, causing many of the shaken guests to nod in agreent.
Chen Xiao and Li Buyi exchanged a look. They both knew Jiang Tianquan had killed the man to silence him, but with all the bandits now dead, what could they do? There was no evidence.
However, Jiang Tianquan remained on edge. The warehouse in the ship’s hold could not be discovered. If Li Buyi used this opportunity to conduct a full search of the vessel, things would beco very troubleso.
Chen Xiao said, "City Governor Li, we should evacuate the civilians first."
The real confrontation is just beginning.
The presence of these ordinary people would only hinder their next moves. Having co this far, Chen Xiao had no intention of letting go of this chance to crush Jiang Tianquan completely.
