Zhang Yaqing’s expression instantly turned livid as she stared at his retreating back with utter coldness.

Inside the brocade box was a Jade Holder, clearly intended to preserve the herbs’ dicinal efficacy for as long as possible by minimizing the loss of their essence. The Jade Holders alone were quite valuable. Leng Baiyu had truly put thought into this.
"Thanks so much, Senior Sister!" Chen Xiao said with a grin as he accepted the herbs.
With the Sun Fruit and Volcano Red Ginseng in hand, only three of the seven main dicines remained: the Bodhi Liuli Heart, rmaid’s Tears, and the Mysterious Yin Pearl. However, these last three were items so rare they might only appear once in a millennium. Finding all three would be as difficult as ascending to the heavens.
Still, Chen Xiao had already obtained four of the seven main dicines. With only three left, he certainly wouldn’t give up. He was determined to find them all, no matter what it took. He would contend with fate itself!
"I’ve already started looking into the remaining three herbs for you," Leng Baiyu said. "I’ll let you know the mont I have news. However, these items are incredibly rare. I haven’t found any leads yet, so we’ll probably need your Second Senior Sister’s help."
Chen Xiao nodded.
"Have you heard?" Leng Baiyu asked again. "Jiang Tianquan and his people were released."
Xu Yanran was stunned, but Chen Xiao and Li Buyi showed little reaction.
Chen Xiao asked flatly, "Senior Sister, you went through so much trouble to find the evidence needed to bring them to justice. And now, right at the finish line, you’ve let them go scot-free. I don’t understand. What’s your plan?"
Leng Baiyu gave a bitter smile. "What plan could I have? I simply had no choice."
