Chen Xiao said, "Even if you didn’t say anything, I was planning to check on them today. Send the address."
Xu Yanran imdiately sent him the address. Chen Xiao got in a car and headed toward the destination. His compatriots had suffered a disaster through no fault of their own, and he couldn’t just sit by and do nothing. He also couldn’t bear to see his fellow countryn tornted like this.
Soon, Chen Xiao arrived at the hospital. Xu Yanran and Chen Xinglong personally ca to et him, both wearing protective suits.
"Brother Chen, please co inside!" Chen Xinglong’s tone was deeply respectful. Chen Xiao’s performance yesterday had completely won him over. Even soone as proud and arrogant as him was now thoroughly convinced.
As they walked, they explained the hospital’s background to Chen Xiao. It was an internal hospital of Dragon Soul, and every doctor there was among the top dical practitioners. After entering, he saw many Dragon Soul personnel standing guard in the corridor, their postures sharp and upright.
"Where are the patients?"
"We’ve currently identified over thirty patients. They are all in the isolation ward."
Chen Xiao didn’t waste words. "Take to see them."
"Put on a protective suit," Xu Yanran said, tossing one to him.
"No need." Chen Xiao shook his head. "My constitution is special, so these toxins can’t affect . Airborne transmission is virtually impossible in my case. I’ll just go in directly."
Just then, a group of doctors in white coats approached them. The leader was a tall, middle-aged man with gold-rimd glasses. Though not conventionally handso, he exuded the aura of a highly educated elite.
"Commander Chen, Miss Xu, who is this?" the man demanded with a hint of displeasure. "There are many dangerous patients in the hospital right now, and the risk of infection is high. Outsiders are not permitted to enter casually."
"Furthermore, this is a special hospital established by Dragon Soul. You are both well aware of the rules."
"Doctor Zhan, this is a doctor we’ve invited," Xu Yanran explained.
"That’s enough!" the man interrupted arrogantly. "Miss Xu, please have faith in our abilities. The doctors here are all talents from top dical schools."
"We represent the highest standard in the Divine Land."
"If even we can’t cure these patients, do you really think bringing a young man here will make any difference?"
Xu Yanran insisted, "Chen Xiao’s dical skills are excellent."
"That is a layman’s opinion," Zhan Tianlin said impatiently, waving his hand dismissively. "Many doctors can treat minor illnesses. That doesn’t an they possess any real skill!"
He patted Chen Xiao’s shoulder. "Young man, this isn’t a place for you. Go study for a few more years, get into a prestigious university’s dical program, and maybe, after you graduate, you might have a slight chance to beco our colleague."
"Even if you don’t get that opportunity, it’s not bad to be an ordinary doctor healing people. After all, not everyone can be the cream of the crop."
Hearing his condescending, lecturing tone, Chen Xiao rely furrowed his brow but chose not to argue. Instead, he asked, "What thods are you planning to use to treat these patients?"
"You wouldn’t understand even if I told you," Zhan Tianlin said haughtily. "These advanced dical techniques are far beyond the reach of you youngsters."
Not wanting to waste any more ti on him, Chen Xiao turned to Xu Yanran. "Take in to see them. Let Leng Baiyu take the bla for any issues that arise. Ti is of the essence, and my energy is limited."
"Alright," Xu Yanran nodded.
Zhan Tianlin’s expression darkened. "Did you not understand what I just said to you?"
"You are not to interfere with these patients!"
"What are your academic credentials?"
"Which school did you graduate from?!"
"Who did you study under?!"
"What honors have you earned in your career?!"
"Even we, the top dical experts, find these cases extrely challenging. What gives you, a re greenhorn, the confidence to think you can cure these patients?"
Chen Xiao replied calmly, "Just because you find it challenging doesn’t an others will. This is simply a matter of dical skill."
Upon hearing this, Zhan Tianlin and the other doctors were practically fuming. Each of them was a top dical expert in the country. Who didn’t treat them with the utmost respect? Their nas were renowned throughout the entire dical world. Since when was it a young man’s place to criticize their skills?
"Young man, you are far too arrogant! You show no reverence for dicine and no respect for your seniors!" Zhan Tianlin said evenly. "You claim my dical skills are lacking? Then I must ask, just how exceptional are yours?"
"My dical skills are adequate," Chen Xiao replied lightly. "I briefly reviewed the case files yesterday, and I am confident."
Zhan Tianlin let out a laugh of angry disbelief. "What audacity! Even we don’t dare to claim we’re confident, yet you are so sure of yourself!"
"I, Zhan Tianlin, entered Yale University’s dical program at sixteen and graduated early with a doctorate at twenty-two. At twenty-three, I returned to lead a team, single-handedly winning three gold, eight silver, and thirteen bronze dals in international competitions for the dical community of the Divine Land!"
"Are my dical skills sohow inferior to yours? Young man, aren’t you a little too conceited?"
A young doctor behind Zhan Tianlin sneered, "Doctor Zhan has mastered nurous advanced Western dical techniques and theories. Furthermore, he is one of the Divine Land’s Ten Great Divine Doctors and the cherished final disciple of Elder Bai Jingchong. Hailed as a dical prodigy, he excels in both Western and Chinese dicine!"
"I really don’t know where you get the confidence to criticize his skills."
Chen Xiao stared at Zhan Tianlin. "I won’t comnt on your achievents, but I am certain I can handle these cases."
Zhan Tianlin’s face hardened. "Miss Xu, this is my final warning. You had best take him away now."
"I am being reasonable here."
"I have already invited my ntor, the venerable Divine Doctor Bai Jingchong, to co over. He despises nothing more than arrogant youngsters who spout nonsense without knowing their own limits."
"If he were to run into this fellow, I’m afraid it wouldn’t end so easily!"
No sooner had his words fallen than several doctors, their faces full of reverence, ushered in a group of elderly gentlen. It was none other than Li Zhengming and his old friends.
Upon seeing the elders, Zhan Tianlin cast all else aside and hurried over. "ntor! Old Li! Old Liu... You’ve finally made it!"
Bai Jingchong stroked his goatee. "Mm, we’ve co to look at the cases you ntioned."
Zhan Tianlin’s expression was pained. "ntor, their conditions are rather tricky..."
Just as he was about to say more, he saw Bai Jingchong’s eyes suddenly fly open, a light gleaming within them. He nudged Li Zhengming’s arm and exclaid excitedly, "Old... Old Li! Look! Is that Mr. Chen over there, or are my old eyes playing tricks on ?"
