"Mr. Chen?"
Upon hearing Chen Xiao’s voice, Li Chenqian’s heart lurched. Could it be that Chen Xiao was the one who had beaten Xiao Chen?
"Yes, I had a little conflict with Young Master Xiao here. I’ll handle it myself, so I won’t cause any trouble for you or Mayor Li," Chen Xiao said blandly.

With that, Hu Dagang hung up the phone.

Xu Yanran reluctantly answered the call.
Xiao Zhenghuai spoke in a humble tone, "This is Miss Xu, correct? I’m terribly sorry. What was ant to be a happy occasion was made so awkward by that brat. As his father, I apologize to you on his behalf.
"Initially, the Xiao Group was planning to give the billion-dollar project to the Xu Group, and though our families are no longer fated to be joined by marriage, we will still offer this billion-dollar project to the Xu Group as compensation.
"Do you think that is acceptable?"
Upon hearing this, Xu Kang and Liu Ya were both thrilled. A billion-dollar project, just like that? Are we dreaming?
Xu Kang quickly signaled Xu Yanran with his eyes.
Xu Yanran nodded and said, "It’s acceptable."

Liu Ya’s composure shattered and she exploded into a furious rant. "Xu Kang! What is that supposed to an? Are you burning the bridge now that we’ve crossed it?! Without , Liu Ya, do you think your Xu Family could have secured this billion-dollar project?"
Xu Yanran scoffed, "Without Chen Xiao, forget about securing a billion-dollar project; those two masters would’ve been beaten to a pulp by now. You really know how to take all the credit!
"Liu Ya, you know perfectly well what you’ve done in our family over the years. I usually couldn’t be bothered with you, and that was out of respect for my brother. Since he wants a divorce, you’d better leave quietly. Don’t make a bigger ss for yourself."
Having said this, she walked out without looking back.
Chen Xiao followed languidly.
Xu Kang also strode out.
Liu Ya roared hysterically at Xu Kang’s departing back, but he didn’t give her so much as a glance.
On the way, Xu Kang kept thanking Chen Xiao, his face full of gratitude.
"Brother, you can head off now," Xu Yanran said with an exasperated look once they were outside. "Can’t you see Chen Xiao is getting impatient?"
Xu Kang looked embarrassed. "I’m sorry, Mr. Chen, I just got too excited! And uh... little sister, you and Mr. Chen have a good ti. I won’t disturb you any longer!"
After saying this and giving Xu Yanran a aningful look, he drove away.
"Does your brother only know how to say those few things?" Chen Xiao asked with an odd expression. "On the way out, I heard him say ’thank you’ no less than twenty tis."
Xu Yanran rolled her eyes at him. "This is a billion-dollar project! Did you think it was so small sum? It’s worth half of my Xu Family! Of course he’s going to be excited!"
Chen Xiao laughed. He had probably been dealing with such large sums of money lately that a billion had started to seem like a small number, and he hadn’t felt its weight. But in reality, it was an astronomical figure.
He paused for a mont, then said, "Now that this matter is settled, can you tell about my senior sister?"
