Now reading: Chapter 263: Rescuing the Little Fish from Divine Doctor from the Start of the Eye Mutation, a Action novel by Night Martial Ling Chen.

At the fish farm, in the large glass tanks where the ornantal fish were displayed, the colorful fish had all turned belly-up. Fatty and the others were doing their utmost to save them, transferring the fish that weren't dead to another tank. Although they managed to save a portion of the fish, those that were saved were barely clinging to life.

Ling Zhenfei took out the Xuantian Spirit Spring Pot and stealthily poured a bit of Spiritual Liquid into the bathtub, hoping to preserve the fish they had saved. Even if they managed to keep these fish alive, the loss was still devastating.

"Did you call the police?"

"We've already called the police. I believe they'll be here soon, but what can the police do? The fish are already dead,"

As Fatty spoke, he couldn't help but let tears fall. A grown man was crying; indeed, he had invested so much into these fish, and just as they were about to be sold, such a disaster struck.

Ling Zhenfei didn't even know how to comfort him. It was unimaginable that sothing like this could happen. Soone had poisoned them, but who could that be? Who would commit such an act? Unless they had a grudge against him, they wouldn't go this far.

Who had a grudge against him? The first suspect was obviously Du Kongting, but Du Kongting had already been arrested. His henchn could be potential culprits, but the timing was off; since Du Kongting's arrest was too recent, his people would be the primary suspects and thus wouldn't do sothing so foolish that could easily arouse suspicion. If they wanted to act maliciously, they'd wait until later.

Besides Du Kongting's people, Tan Shaojie and Hei Biao, those from the Jianghu, could be possible suspects. There were so disagreents between him and them, but to poison ornantal fish seed unlikely for the gangs; if they sought revenge, they would make a public spectacle of it.

After much thought, Ling Zhenfei considered a group of people he had recently encountered on the street: Zhou Tong, Zhou Jian, and their gang. Zhou Tong was the most suspicious; that youngster's hand had been injured by him, and he would certainly be looking for revenge.

These were not gangsters, at best so local ruffians. Ruffians didn't have any great abilities and were likely to engage in petty acts like poisoning fish.

Ling Zhenfei left the managent of the fish farm to Fatty and drove off alone in Fatty's car, determined to find Zhou Tong and Zhou Jian. If it really was them, he wouldn't let them off easily.

Although he knew of soone called Little Overlord Zhou Tong and his brother nad Zhou Jian, he had no idea where they lived, which made finding them not so easy.

But Ling Zhenfei had his own ways of finding people. To look for ruffians like Zhou Tong and his gang, one needed to go to places where ruffians liked to hang out.

Ling Zhenfei drove Fatty's rcedes around the streets for a while. Even though the street didn't host any bustling comrce, it was lined with several shops, including KTVs, billiard halls, Internet cafes, and the like.

Checking the ti, it was just after midday; these people definitely wouldn't be in the KTVs. It was too early for that. Spotting a billiard hall nearby, he noted that such a place was popular among the local ruffians.

Ling Zhenfei parked the car in front of the billiard hall and then got out and walked in.

Back in college, Ling Zhenfei himself had frequently played billiards, though he hadn't had the ti since starting his job. However, the billiards he played were at roadside places, costing 0.5 RMB a ga, and he had never really been inside proper billiard halls.

Walking into the billiard hall, the interior was not very large, featuring five or six pool tables. At that mont, two groups of people were playing pool. At a glance, they were all street youths, with fearso tattoos of dragons and tigers adorning their arms.

Their hair was either dyed blonde or rainbow-colored; they were one step short of having "I'm a delinquent, I'm a hooligan" written on their faces.

As Ling Zhenfei walked into the billiard hall, the two groups turned to look at him. He pretended to be timid and looked around nervously.

"Hey, kid, what are you looking at? Want to play pool?" A young guy approached Ling Zhenfei and asked.

"Yeah, I'm here to play," he replied.

Actually, everyone had already noticed the mont the car stopped. A rcedes had never been seen parked in front of this rundown billiard hall before. Although it cost only six or seven hundred thousand, it was considered a nice car after all. The young man who got out of the car was obviously a rich kid, without a doubt.

The young man ntioned the fee schedule, which of course had tripled, but obviously, rich kids don't care about this bit of money.

"Billiards is supposed to be played by two people, right?" Ling Zhenfei feigned ignorance about the exorbitant prices.

The young man couldn't help but laugh at Zhenfei's comnt, "Isn't that obvious? If there were eleven people, that would be football. Billiards, of course, is played by two people."

"Look at here all by myself. Do you have soone in the shop who can play billiards, soone who can play a ga with ?"

The young man smirked inwardly, finding soone to accompany the rich kid to play was a good opportunity to make money.

"If you're looking for soone, of course there is soone to play with you. You na it, how much do you want to bet per ga?"

"Oh, you can actually gamble on billiards here, that's great. I'm not short on money, any amount is fine, how about ten thousand a ga?" Ling Zhenfei said deliberately in a very loud voice, making sure everyone around playing billiards could hear him clearly.

The local ruffians playing nearby exchanged glances, thinking: "Isn't this guy just asking to lose money? He looks like a newbie, and since he has money, let's take it."

"Young brother, looking for soone to play billiards with? We just happen to have a buddy here who wants to play a couple of gas. What do you say?" One of the blond young n, with a sneer on his face, looked at Ling Zhenfei as if he were a huge walking wallet.

"Are you any good at playing? I want to play with soone skilled. Where's the boss here? I want to play with the boss of this place," Ling Zhenfei deliberately shouted toward the inside, deducing that the owner must be in one of the private rooms inside.

"Who wants to play with ?"

With a low voice, the owner of the billiard hall erged from the private room behind the cash register.

"Boss, it's this kid. He wants to play a couple of rounds with you."

The owner looked Ling Zhenfei up and down, clearly identifying him as a novice.

"Alright, kid. How do you want to play?"

"Playing small is boring. Let's bet big. If you lose, you give your billiard hall. What do you think?"

Ling Zhenfei just wanted to stir things up, in fact, it was also a way for him to vent, as he hadn't been this angry in a long ti.

As Ling Zhenfei spoke, almost everyone in the billiard hall stopped what they were doing and looked his way. The owner's expression was quite embarrassed, not expecting soone to co and cause trouble.

"Kid, are you fucking here to cause trouble? Can't you see whose turf this is? Are you asking for trouble?" Another attendant, who had overheard sothing, pointed at Ling Zhenfei's nose and asked.

"I'm just here to play billiards, only playing for higher stakes. Forget it, if you can't afford to play, let's call it off," Ling Zhenfei said nonchalantly.
