Having heard Han Lian's words, Boss Liu, who had already given up, hesitated again. He sized up Ling Zhenfei, trying to discern sothing from him, but no matter how he looked, Ling Zhenfei, with his laid-back deanor, didn't resemble a doctor in the least.
"Forgive for a mont, I'll be right back."
Boss Liu left the private room, and without asking, one knew that he must have gone to make a call to Director Chen.
"Why do you think I can cure his wife and child's illness, and why are you so eager to recomnd ?" Ling Zhenfei was puzzled by Han Lian's behavior.
"There's no particular reason, just to avoid disheartening a kind and righteous person. Boss Liu is so kindhearted, anyone would be moved by him and would want to help if they could."
"Then how can you be so sure that I would agree?"
"You wouldn't want to refuse, right? You don't seem like that kind of person to ." Han Lian's gaze at Ling Zhenfei was filled with complexity.
"I'm not as noble as you make out to be. Although I too am moved by Boss Liu's actions, if I'm to spend ti and effort treating soone, naturally, I would expect sothing in return." A new idea ford in Ling Zhenfei's mind.
"The boss is out of money, even starting to sell his bar, and you still want a reward?" Han Lian gave him a disdainful look.
While Han Lian was questioning Ling Zhenfei, the door to the private room suddenly burst open. Boss Liu, his face flushed with excitent, rushed in and imdiately knelt down in front of Ling Zhenfei.
"Divine Doctor, it's my honor to have t you today. Please save my wife and child. I'm willing to do anything in return."
This abrupt change even startled Han Lian. It seed as though Ling Zhenfei had been portrayed even more legendarily by Chen Dafu. Although Boss Liu didn't believe Han Lian's words, he took Chen Dafu's for absolute truth.
Chen Dafu had told Boss Liu that if there was anyone in the world who could cure his wife and child's illness, it was only one person: Ling Zhenfei. Therefore, Boss Liu was so agitated.
Ling Zhenfei quickly helped Liu Benchang to his feet, saying, "Boss Liu, we can talk things over, please stand up and let's discuss."
"Divine Doctor, there's nothing to discuss. As long as you can cure my wife, I'm willing to pay any amount."
"Really, any amount?"
"Yes. Even if I don't have it, I'll borrow it for you, and even if I can't borrow it, I'll work off the debt for you." It was clear that Liu Benchang was sincere; he'd do anything for his wife and child.

"Divine Doctor, that's easy to settle. As long as you can cure my wife and child, I'll simply give the bar to you." Hearing Ling Zhenfei's interest in the bar, Boss Liu was surprisingly pleased and agreed without a second thought.
"I don't want you to give it to . I'll pay for it, but I don't have enough money to cover the full amount right now. How about this, you give a discount. You sell it for ten million, I'll pay five million, and we'll count the other five million as the treatnt fee. How does that sound?"
"Divine Doctor, if you say it's okay, then of course it's okay. Even giving it to you outright would be fine." Liu Benchang's eyes burned with hope, the light of anticipation.
"Then take to see your wife and children. I need to see the patients to know whether I can treat them or not."
Liu Benchang led the way excitedly from the front, guiding both n toward the back of the bar.
"You're really taking advantage of soone's misfortune. To buy such a big bar for five million, you sure know how to do business," Han Lian's expression was a bit odd, maybe feeling that Boss Liu had been treated unfairly.
"There's no free lunch in the world, nor is there free treatnt. He's willing to spend ten million on an uncertain treatnt, and you praise him for being compassionate and righteous, yet when I only ask for five million to cure his wife and children, you see as a villain. It's hard to be a good person, indeed."
After Ling Zhenfei said that, Han Lian had nothing to say, perhaps because she realized that in today's society, no one would really help you without money; even buying cold dicine would cost you a hundred or eighty, let alone treating such complicated diseases.
"You're quite an interesting person. You obviously want it but won't let others give it to you. Do you have five million?" Han Lian kept teasing Ling Zhenfei as they walked.
"I don't, but I can lend you so, how about that? If you lend half, you'll be the bar's Madam in the future." Ling Zhenfei wasn't joking, he truly couldn't co up with five million at the mont, managing to co up with two million was already the limit.
"Get lost, who wants to be your Madam? Besides, even if I wanted to, I don't have that much money."
"What should we do then if there's no money? Maybe we should tell Boss Liu to disregard what was said earlier and just give the bar."

The two chatted quietly as they followed Liu Benchang to a private room behind the bar, which had been converted into a small bedroom accustod for care.
Upon entering, they saw a woman and a child in the room, with the woman struggling to tend to a little boy while dragging her heavy body in pain.
Describing the woman as in pain, because she was paralyzed on one side of her body, moving required dragging one side with the other, a very uncomfortable sight. Yet, the child under her care appeared even more pitiful. The boy looked about three or four years old, lying motionless on the bed, with only the movent in his eyes signaling that he was still alive.
These two were Liu Benchang's wife and child, the wife nad Wen Jing, a beautiful woman true to her na, dignified and serene.
The child was nad Liu Yunrui, originally lively and cute, but now tornted by the odd disease to the point of wishing for death, like a living dead.
Learning that they had co to treat her and her child, Wen Jing was very cooperative, but her eyes revealed a lack of excitent, having seen too many doctors, she had little trust in them, only complying out of politeness.

Wen Jing's body was still sowhat okay, only half petrified, with the other half still able to move. However, Liu Yunrui wasn't so lucky. Being just a child, the disease had spread throughout his body, only his head remaining unpetrified. But, considering the speed of petrification, it wouldn't take much longer, which was why Liu Benchang was so anxious.
"What do you think, Divine Doctor, is there hope for my wife and child?" Liu Benchang asked quietly from the side.
