"Begin!" Ling Zhenfei once again put the mask on his head.
Both n headed towards the interrogation area where several people were questioning Oxhead and Horseface, whose masks had already been removed, revealing the faces of two middle-aged n. Both were in bad shape; one was weak, and the other had a swollen face from Ling Zhenfei's beating, looking terrible.
"So, have we gotten anything out of them yet?" Long Hai asked the young man who had just conducted the interrogation.
"Boss, these two are stubborn and won't say anything. They just claim they are Oxhead and Horseface and won't divulge anything else," said the young man, quite frustrated.
"These n are injured; if we don't treat them, they might die!" The driver, who had just finished changing the spare tire, comnted from the side.
However, Long Hai and Ling Zhenfei were not concerned; a cultivator isn't that easy to kill.
Ling Zhenfei leaned down to examine the injuries of the two n and saw that they were not major.
"Kid, if you have the guts, take off your mask, and we'll see whose road is longer after this," Horseface spat through clenched teeth. If it weren't for Ling Zhenfei today, they would have completed their mission and not landed in this predicant.
Ling Zhenfei laughed, "I wear the mask not out of fear of you, but to avoid unnecessary trouble later."
"Quit your grandstanding here, kid. Just tell us, what are you planning to do with us?" Horseface knew the rules of victors and losers all too well and was aware that he and Ox Head were in big trouble.
"I shouldn't have to tell you this, should I? You're very aware of who you tried to assassinate, and you should be even clearer on what your cris are. However, now you have a chance to redeem yourselves," Ling Zhenfei hadn't spoken yet, but Long Hai was already speaking, his voice carrying a potent Killing Aura.
"Don't think you can get anything out of us. We won't say a word," Horseface and Ox Head replied with unwavering resolve.
"This matter isn't a big deal for you. You just need to tell us which one in our investigation team is the traitor. Traitors are the most detestable. If we find him, we will beat him half to death first, then pile a few more charges on him. You know, our investigatory team isn't ordinary. If he could betray our team and beco a mole for soone else, passing on information, it ans he's tired of living."
Long Hai's voice was very loud. On the surface, it seed like he was speaking to Oxhead and Horseface, but in reality, he was addressing mbers of the investigatory team, raising his voice on purpose for them to hear clearly.
"It's impossible to get anything from us. If we betray him, what's the difference between us and a traitor?" Horseface sneered coldly.
Ling Zhenfei added from the side, "You're talking big now, but it would be pretty awkward later if you keep this up. You should have experienced my thods just now. No one under my hands has been able to resist confessing."
Having said this, a black pill appeared in Ling Zhenfei's hand; he deliberately showed it to the people around him before speaking, "I have an elixir here called the Myriad Insects Heart-Eating Pill. After ingesting it, you'll feel an itch all over your body, an itch that cos from the inside out. It feels like countless tiny bugs are biting you, and it worsens the more you try to endure. Scratching is pointless; the more you scratch, the more intense it becos. Eventually, you'll scratch your skin open yet the itching continues, making you wish you could tear off your bones. But even then, you won't be able to die. Can you imagine what that feels like?"
Those around Ling Zhenfei shivered upon hearing his words, the horrifying image making them shudder.
"Impossible, there can't be such a thing. Don't try to fool us." Ox Head and Horseface also seed a little scared; whether they were cultivators or not, at the end of the day, they were human and not without fear.
"Don't say there isn't one, because you will soon taste the flavor of this unique poison. But rest assured, we won't be so inhumane. You will scratch off the skin from all over your bodies until it's raw and bloody, but we won't let everyone see it. Besides, no one else wants to see such a ghastly sight."
Ling Zhenfei and Long Hai exchanged glances and nodded at each other, then each took a person and headed towards the adjacent abandoned house.
Ling Zhenfei walked in front, kicking open the door, and threw Ox Head to the ground. Long Hai dragged Horse-Face over as well, then told the people from the investigation team behind them not to co any closer, as it was about to get very horrifying.
The people from the investigation team had been following behind them, but when they heard Long Hai's words, they all backed away several steps, not daring to approach.
Only Ling Zhenfei and Long Hai entered the room, while all the mbers of the investigation team stood at a distance.
"Do you think this thing is real or fake? Is there really such a poison that you only find in martial arts novels?"
"Who knows, but seeing how they fought just now, it looked pretty much like sothing out of a martial arts novel. If their martial arts are so powerful, it's not strange for there to be such weird poisons."
"Right, I think it exists. But it's really strange, how could our investigation team possibly have an insider from among these people?" The person spoke while glancing at the others nearby because from the interrogation earlier, they knew there was definitely a mole in their team, they just didn't know who.
"That guy wearing the Garfield mask is so cool. I ca down late and didn't see him take off his mask. Did anyone see if he was handso or not?" A woman asked soone nearby, sounding sowhat infatuated.
"Absolutely to die for. I saw him, so young and handso," another woman chid in, equally infatuated.
At this mont, laughter suddenly ca from the house—Ox Head and Horse-Face were laughing, mixed with screams of agony, leaving the investigation team mbers stunned.
"They actually started laughing. This must be the beginning of the itching."
"There really is such a drug, that's great. If we used this kind of drug during interrogations in the future, it would make things so much easier."
"No, using this drug is like administering torture, and it's even more cruel than The Ten Great Tortures of the Qing Dynasty; we absolutely can't use it."
"I was just saying."
As the investigation team mbers were talking amongst themselves, suddenly the door opened, and Ling Zhenfei walked out. All eyes imdiately turned to Ling Zhenfei.
"How did it go? Did those two monsters confess?" soone asked Ling Zhenfei.
"Of course not yet. These two are quite stubborn, but it's too bloody inside for . I can't stand the sight of blood and gore, skin ripped open and flesh torn, all clawed by their own hands. Only you, our boss, who's crawled out from a pile of corpses, can withstand such a sight. But don't worry, they won't last much longer. They're bound to confess."
The mbers of the investigation team had expressions that were hard to define as either sad or happy—in any case, they looked strange, clearly imagining the grotesque scene inside and feeling sickened by it.
