"So where are you taking ?" Ling Zhenfei really had nothing to do at the mont and just wanted to find a place to rest well. Having two policen for protection would be quite good, but only on the condition that these two policen are real.
"You don't need to worry about that. The place we police officers find will definitely be safe," Zhang Ying said as he gestured for Ling Zhenfei to follow him.
Ling Zhenfei laughed, "Sorry, but I will not leave the Traditional Chinese dicine Hospital. If you want to ensure my safety, then protect here."
After finishing his statent, Ling Zhenfei turned around and walked back the way he ca, with Zhang Ying and Tu Gang quickly following behind him.
"Mr. Ling, there are too many people inside the hospital, which makes protecting you quite dangerous. For your safety, you should consider changing locations," Zhang Ying said in a negotiating tone to Ling Zhenfei.
"I've already decided. If those assassins dare to attack even with you police around, then I would think very little of you."
Zhang Ying grabbed Ling Zhenfei's arm and said loudly, "Mr. Ling Zhenfei, you might not understand. It's not always assassins who want to kill people; there are also assassins. We can guard against assassins, but assassins' attacks are unpredictable, and I'm afraid we won't have ti to react before you've been hit, so let's not waste any more ti."
Ling Zhenfei was startled by this. Zhang Ying was right, there was a fundantal difference between an assassin and an assassin. One can guard against an assassin's attack, but an assassin's strike is unexpected, killing with a single blow and then fleeing imdiately, almost impossible to guard against.
"That's a matter for you police. Knowing there's an assassin out to kill and you can't catch him, there's not much I can say."
Ling Zhenfei spoke while walking back, followed by Zhang Ying and Tu Gang. Zhang Ying kept trying to persuade Ling Zhenfei to leave Modu International Hospital.
Just then, several doctors and nurses rushed out from inside, recognizing from the state in which Xiao Kunkun had arrived that there was a patient in need of ergency aid. Right on the heels of that realization, the sound of an ambulance siren ca from outside the lobby, and the ambulance quickly arrived at the entrance to the first-floor lobby.
The back doors of the ambulance were thrown open, and a stretcher was lifted from the vehicle, then rushed inside with the patient. The person on the stretcher was covered with a white cloth, obscuring any view of the situation, but a young man beside was frantically calling out, evidently a friend of the patient.
"Make way, quick! Step aside, the patient needs ergency assistance!" soone shouted in the direction of Ling Zhenfei and the others. Ling Zhenfei quickly moved to the side to avoid getting in the way of the patient's ergency aid, and Zhang Ying and Tu Gang also moved up against the wall.
The stretcher, shielded by doctors and nurses, whipped through the hallway and quickly reached where Ling Zhenfei and the others were.
The hallway was already narrow, and although Ling Zhenfei and the others had moved up against the wall, the pass-by was still a bit congested. But in the instant of the crossover, the white cloth that had been covering the patient suddenly flew up. The person who had been lying under the white cloth leaped up, a dagger in hand, thrusting straight for Ling Zhenfei's chest.
The distance was already close, and the attack ca so unexpectedly—it truly was impossible to guard against. Not only that, the young man who had been looking anxious beside them also sprang into action. His hand had been under the stretcher the whole ti, and now he brought it up with a dagger in hand, leaping toward Ling Zhenfei to strike, perfectly coordinating with the person on the stretcher, achieving seamless cooperation.
"""Such exquisite coordination and such an unexpected attack would have been impossible to guard against for most; if it had been anyone else, they surely would have been caught off guard. However, Ling Zhenfei was different; he was no ordinary man; his eyes could see through everything."""
Just now, Ling Zhenfei had seen everything clearly beneath the white sheet of the stretcher. He could see the muscles of the man ready to pounce, and the young man's dagger hidden under the stretcher couldn't escape his eyes, so he had already prepared in advance.
As soon as the two n made their move, Ling Zhenfei reacted. He didn't feel a trace of panic. Although the attackers were sneaky, they weren't very skilled. Ling Zhenfei's hands moved as fast as lightning, capturing the wrists of both n, one above, one below.
The two n were visibly stunned; they couldn't have imagined that their sophisticated assassination plan would fail. But in the instant they were dazed, Ling Zhenfei made his move, and with one strong pull, he slamd the two n into each other, sending them crashing to the ground in disarray.
The ergency physician and nurses were terrified; they hadn't seen what had happened in that mont, but they understood the situation on the scene and began to flee in shock.
The two young n had quick reactions, too. After falling, they imdiately stood up, brandishing their daggers and rushing at Ling Zhenfei. But before he could respond, Zhang Ying and Tu Gang, who were behind him, charged forward. Tu Gang, with his great strength, grabbed one of the n's daggers, followed by a kick that floored him.
Zhang Ying's moves were clean and efficient, using a technique commonly taught in police schools to disarm opponents. He snagged the wrist holding the dagger and in the next second executed a shoulder throw, pinning the man to the ground. He then took out his handcuffs and restrained him.
The agility of their movents clearly showed they had undergone extensive training and had a wealth of practical experience.
"Mr. Ling Zhenfei, we were right, weren't we? You're simply too vulnerable at the Traditional Chinese dicine Hospital. I urge you to co with us. If sothing happens to you, we Modu police cannot bear the responsibility," Zhang Ying said anxiously as she dragged the two assassins, looking nervously at Ling Zhenfei.
"Haven't the assassins already been caught? What's there to worry about?"
"There won't be just these two assassins," Zhang Ying said, forcefully pulling up the young man she had handcuffed. "Talk, do you have any accomplices?"
The young man let out a cold laugh but said nothing, maintaining the professional ethics of an assassin.
"What now? Are you going to take these two assassins back?" Ling Zhenfei glanced at the two n, now each being held by a police officer.
"If we leave, what will you do? What if more assassins co? I'll have soone take them away. Don't worry about them; take care of yourself. You're the one in real danger now."
Ling Zhenfei chuckled bitterly to himself. These two kept saying they were here to protect him, but they hadn't lifted a finger during the assassination attempt. He still wasn't sure who was protecting whom. These assassins truly were bold, daring to make their move right in front of two police officers.
At that mont, Ling Zhenfei's phone suddenly rang. He checked the number—it was unfamiliar. He hurriedly answered.
