Ling Zhenfei was startled; this Ru ng was indeed too pragmatic, unwilling to do anything without gaining a benefit first.
"Just tell what kind of benefit you want," Ling Zhenfei had absolutely no way of dealing with Ru ng.
With her eyes rolling twice, Ru ng said, "You already owe one favor, what more can I ask for?"
Ling Zhenfei said, "Otherwise, I'll just owe you another favor, as they say, 'when you're covered with lice, you don't worry about itching'."
But then, Ru ng shook her head, "That won't do, if you owe so many, I won't be able to sleep at night."
"Then what do you propose?"
After much thought, Ru ng still couldn't co up with anything concrete and reluctantly decided to let Ling Zhenfei owe her another condition, making it two favors he now owed to Ru ng.
Finally, Ru ng revealed her plan to Ling Zhenfei, "Actually, the thod is quite simple. We've already seen that every night, the Eagle on that cliff goes out hunting. If the Giant Python also goes out to hunt, wouldn't that be an opportunity?"
Having heard the plan, Ling Zhenfei was overjoyed. Indeed, the thod Ru ng thought of was feasible.
"We've seen the Eagle go hunting and can roughly guess the ti, but when does the Giant Python go out to hunt? If those two beasts don't leave at the sa ti, what should we do?"
Ru ng confidently said, "That's easy; as soon as the Eagle flies out, I'll imdiately lure the Giant Python out of the cave. Won't that solve the problem?"
"Do you have a way to lure the Snake out of its cave?"
Ru ng confidently said, "Don't worry, just leave it to when the ti cos."
Ling Zhenfei looked at Ru ng in disbelief, feeling that she was like the queen of the forest, as if nothing in this forest could stump her.
After the two had agreed on a plan, they waited at a distance, choosing to communicate via Divine Sense to converse, taking great care not to make any noise.
As ti slowly passed, it soon reached deep into the night. Suddenly, a faint sound ca from inside the Snake Cave, a sizzling noise.
Ling Zhenfei and Ru ng were both attracted by this sound, and eagerly looked towards it, only to see a giant Snake Head extending out from the cave.
This Snake Head was enormous, like a gigantic lantern, and when it opened its huge mouth, it truly resembled a blood basin. A tasting snake tongue flickered out, and as it quivered, it emitted a sizzling sound.
As the Python appeared, the air around was filled with a pungent, foul odor, followed by an overwhelming sense of oppression.
This was a feeling, a sensation of being oppressed by a powerful aura, the sa feeling that Ling Zhenfei and Ru ng had experienced in the tree hole last night when they felt the presence of the Eagle.
That feeling was a sense of fear towards a powerful adversary, indicating that this beast was extrely formidable.
So formidable that Ling Zhenfei felt that he definitely was no match for it, first and foremost psychologically, as he had already started to feel fear.
The Python crawled out of the Snake Cave, with its body stretching over ten ters long, simply astonishing. The massive snake, as thick as a water barrel, could very easily swallow a grown human whole, and might not even be fully sated.
As the Giant Snake moved, the stench slowly spread, making Ling Zhenfei unable to help but hold his breath.
The Snake advanced with its head held high, and as it passed by, the grass on the ground parted on its own to either side, as if even the grass feared the Giant Snake's oppression.
The body, over ten ters long, moved swiftly and soon vanished into the dense forest.
Ling Zhenfei looked on in shock at Ru ng, "That's astonishing. Just how strong is this giant snake?"
Ru ng also appeared surprised and thoughtful as she spoke, "If it were a person, this beast's strength must have already reached the Realm of Reaching Wisdom, which would make it an absolute master among humans."
Ling Zhenfei felt amazed, for no matter what, he had not yet encountered a master of the Realm of Reaching Wisdom; even masters of the Zhiyi Boundary were extrely rare.
Because the Northern Spiritual Energy in this world is scarce, reaching the Zhiyi state is no easy feat. The high cultivation of these two beasts from the cliff was greatly influenced by their location.
Their ho on Xianling Mountain was rich in Northern Spiritual Energy, making it an excellent place for cultivation, and the multitude of Spiritual Herbs and dicines growing on the cliff also played a significant role in the growth of their cultivation.
Furthermore, they often hunted animals with minor cultivation, which after absorbing the essence of the sun and moon, managed to painstakingly cultivate Beast Pills, which they would then consu directly.
These Beast Pills contained a large amount of Northern Spiritual Energy, which was crucial for enhancing their cultivation.
If it were a human instead, it wouldn't be as easy.
Ru ng had been cultivating on Xianling Mountain for many years, possessing exceptional innate talent. She surely must have encountered so heaven-sent treasure to achieve cultivation of the Zhiyi state. It would be even more difficult for others.
"This doesn't seem to match our expectations. We originally thought the Eagle would leave first, then lure away the Python. But now the Python has left first, what do we do?" Ling Zhenfei asked Ru ng.
Worry filled Ru ng's face; clearly, this was unexpected.
"Let's wait and see. If the Eagle goes out to hunt for food now, that would save us a lot of trouble."
"While that's true, if the Eagle doesn't leave, luring away the Eagle will be much more difficult than luring away the Python."
The two of them watched the Eagle's Nest on the cliff in silence, waiting for the Eagle to fly out, but even after a long while, they saw no sign of it.
"It seems the Eagle will only go out around the sa ti it did last night, which is still a long ti away. I guess by then the Python will have already returned," Ling Zhenfei analyzed.
Whether by coincidence or not, it seed as if these two beasts, the Eagle and the Snake, took turns leaving to eat, almost as if they were on shifts. This increased the difficulty. With no other choice, the two could only wait quietly.
After waiting for about two hours, they suddenly slled a foul odor. It was coming closer, and the scent was getting stronger.
Ling Zhenfei knew that this ant the Python was returning. At that mont, the Eagle on the cliff, as if having received so signal, suddenly flew out from its cave.
Following behind the Eagle were three smaller ones which, under its lead, flew off into the distance.
Looking at the ti, the Eagle's departure was quite similar to the ti he had encountered it the previous night, suggesting these animals had an accurate sense of ti.
Seeing the Eagle fly off, an idea struck Ling Zhenfei and he said to Ru ng, "I have a plan. I'll make use of this ti gap to head up the mountain. You find a way to hold off the Python for a while."
After speaking, Ling Zhenfei rushed toward the cliff. Ru ng at first startled, then sprinted in the direction of the Python.
Ling Zhenfei knew that with the Blooming Step Technique, Ru ng should have no trouble leading the Python away. What mattered now was whether he could find the Rejuvenation Grass on the cliff in the shortest possible ti.
