Ling Zhenfei sneered inwardly, thinking that these people were rely brutes incapable of doing anything significant.
At that mont, the doctors already regarded Ling Zhenfei as a lifesaver, all looking at him with eagerness.
Ling Zhenfei looked at the doctors and said, "I'm just a monk from outside; can I chant sutras in your temple?"
Everyone was stunned at first, but so doctors quickly grasped his aning.
"Dr. Ling, please don't stand on ceremony, everyone knows your capabilities, please help us."
"Yes, Divine Doctor Ling, we can only rely on you now."
The underworld figures were also stunned, "Divine Doctor Ling, who is the Divine Doctor?"
The doctors hurriedly spoke, "This is Ling Zhenfei, Divine Doctor Ling, a man who can revive the dead."
Although many hadn't seen Ling Zhenfei before, his na was still well-known. Prompted by the doctors, everyone began to shout out.
"Ling Zhenfei, Divine Doctor Ling, I seem to have heard of him too."
"Isn't he the one who treats people with a candied hawthorn stick?"
"Yes, yes, that must be him, if it really is, then there's hope for Third Brother."
Ling Zhenfei ignored the discussions among the crowd, turning to the last doctor who ca out and said, "Let go in and take a look."
The doctor was very excited and hurriedly said to Ling Zhenfei, "Divine Doctor Ling, please co inside, I'll get you a gown to disinfect."
Ling Zhenfei followed the doctor into the ergency room, where he donned a white lab coat and was disinfected before following the doctor to the theater.
The operating room was brightly lit, and on one of the operating tables, a patient was being urgently resuscitated, but it seed the situation was not very good.
After entering and examining the patient's condition, Ling Zhenfei was taken aback by the seriousness of the injuries. The patient had several knife wounds, so of which were on arteries, causing severe bleeding.
By then, the patient was even sowhat unconscious and showing signs of nearing death.
Using his Perspective Eye, Ling Zhenfei imdiately understood the patient's condition; while the knife wounds were manageable, there was also an injury on the patient's head.
The injury was hidden and was caused by a blunt object such as a brick or baseball bat, leading to a fractured skull and the bone compressing the nerves, making the prognosis grim.
But, although the situation was serious, Ling Zhenfei saw in his Perspective Eye that it was still treatable.
Ling Zhenfei first placed two elixirs into the patient's mouth to ensure his life force wouldn't fade, then he helped stop the bleeding.
His thod of stopping blood was quite different from Western dicine as he directly sealed the surrounding acupoints, minimizing blood loss, then allowed the doctor to stitch the wounds.
After that, he dealt with the issue on the head; although it sounded simple, it was very complex—the brain wasn't like other parts and required utmost care during any procedure.
The crowd outside the door was anxiously waiting, but this ti they were exceptionally patient because they knew that Ling Zhenfei, the man called Divine Doctor, was inside helping the patient.
Earlier their expressions were grave, but now everyone seed to relax, as if they could already see their brother being cured.
But as ti slowly passed, hours went by in a blink, and finally, the door of the ergency room opened, and Ling Zhenfei and the doctor walked out.
All at once, everyone crowded around.
"Doctor, how is my brother?"
"Divine Doctor Ling, has my brother fully recovered?"
Ling Zhenfei's face showed a bit of anxiety, "Your brother is no longer in danger, but he needs to recover properly. He will need to rest for so ti."
"That's really great, thank you so much, Divine Doctor Ling. You truly are a miracle worker."
"Divine Doctor Ling is amazing, just like an Immortal."
"Long live Divine Doctor Ling!"
The scene was very chaotic, with all sorts of shouts, but Ling Zhenfei was very anxious because it was already past two o'clock and he had missed his appointnt with that person.
He was supposed to et a friend of Chu Bingqing at the Hilton Hotel at noon. He was sure he could make it, but who could have predicted this? A surgery had delayed him for several hours.
Ling Zhenfei was a man who valued commitnts, and he would have gone back as promised, but who could have expected this? Chances are that person had already left by now.
"Divine Doctor Ling, you are my idol, I really admire you. Can I take a photo with you?"
"Yes, Divine Doctor Ling, I like you a lot. Can you give an autograph?"
The group that was previously all fired up had suddenly turned into fans of Ling Zhenfei.
Ling Zhenfei had no choice but to pose for photos with them and sign autographs, then he imdiately made an excuse and left them.
Ling Zhenfei checked his phone and saw, indeed, there were several missed calls. Probably the other person had been waiting a long ti and seed to be upset.
Ling Zhenfei truly felt helpless, not knowing if he should go or not.
"Divine Doctor Ling, you've finally co out. Have you eaten?"
Lu ng appeared from nowhere, holding two lunch boxes, and asked about the treatnt fee.
Ling Zhenfei glanced at Lu ng, the young nurse dressed in pristine white, with a very innocent expression on her face, yet her eyes were filled with anticipation.
"I really haven't eaten, but it's so late, haven't you eaten either?" Ling Zhenfei was surprised.
Lu ng smiled, "We nurses usually don't have a fixed al ti, so I haven't eaten either. Let's eat together."
"But you should eat your al, what will you do if I eat it?" Ling Zhenfei said, looking at the food in Lu ng's hands.
Lu ng laughed, "I made this especially for you, I knew you wouldn't have had the ti to eat."
Ling Zhenfei was touched, not expecting Lu ng to have prepared a al for him. If that was the case, it seed like Lu ng wasn't really unable to eat but had been waiting for him all along.
"I'm really thankful."
Lu ng led Ling Zhenfei to an employee rest area, got everything ready, and opened up the lunch boxes to eat.
Inside the lunch box were tomato and egg stir-fry and celery and pork stir-fry, along with a delicate little pickle.
"Did you make all this yourself?" Ling Zhenfei could tell these dishes didn't look like takeout from a fast food place.
Lu ng blushed slightly, "Yes, I made them. I hope they're okay; please don't mind if they're not up to par."
Ling Zhenfei took a couple of bites, "The taste is good. I didn't realize you were this skilled. Do you often practice cooking when you're free?"
Lu ng quickly said, "No, not at all. I just cook for myself in the evenings after work; I'm too busy during the day. Today was special because there were no patients needing us in the ward, so I had so ti."
