"Where are my parents?" Seeing the Emperor completely stunned, Lin Yun asked again, his voice louder. Only after he asked a second ti did the Emperor finally snap out of it. His first instinct was to look at Tang Chenming, who stood to the side.
When the Emperor looked his way, Tang Chenming snapped irritably, "Hurry up and release them."
Hearing this, the Emperor finally understood. Lin Yun now had the backing of the Flawless Palace; the Royal Family was powerless against him.
Not daring to defy Tang Chenming, the Emperor quickly ordered his n to bring up Lin Xiaotian, Zhong Lin, and the others.
The Forbidden Guard Army received the order and hurried to the Celestial Prison. anwhile, Lin Yun and the others waited in the Purple Gold Hall. With Luo Feng present, they were confident the Emperor wouldn’t dare pull any stunts.
On the Imperial Platform, Du Ying sat with his eyes closed in ditation, while Luo Feng casually drank fine wine, a tipsy flush on his face.
After dispatching n to retrieve Lin Xiaotian and the others, the Emperor’s gaze on Lin Yun was a complex mix of emotions. No one had expected that, even in a situation like this, Lin Yun would manage to secure the backing of the Flawless Palace.
Furthermore, the fact that Luo Feng had co to Yanhuang Country in person showed how highly the Flawless Palace regarded Lin Yun. Otherwise, there would have been no need for Luo Feng to make a personal appearance.
The boy from Iron Gate Pass had grown into a figure that even the Yanhuang Royal Family had to dread. As the Emperor looked at Lin Yun, an indescribable feeling welled up inside him.
Like the Emperor, Tang Chenming was also in a miserable position. He had laid an inescapable trap, yet it had still failed to kill Lin Yun. Instead, the situation had escalated, even drawing out Luo Feng. This matter was now far beyond his control; he didn’t even have a say in it anymore.
They waited quietly for the Royal Family to bring Lin Xiaotian and the others. Spurred by the presence of Luo Feng and Du Ying, the Royal Family moved quickly. In just a quarter of an hour, the Forbidden Guard Army and two Primordial Ocean Realm experts from the Royal Family escorted Lin Xiaotian’s group into the Purple Gold Hall.
However, the mont Lin Yun saw the state of Lin Xiaotian and Zhong Lin, he exploded with rage. ’Is this what the Royal Family calls re imprisonnt?’
The Royal Family had promised Master Wu and Gong Qi that they would only imprison Lin Xiaotian’s group and not harm them. But the state Lin Xiaotian and Zhong Lin were in now...
The two n could barely walk; they were so weak that they had to be supported by two Forbidden Guard Army soldiers just to be brought in. Seeing the injuries covering Lin Xiaotian and Zhong Lin, fury blazed in Lin Yun’s eyes.
"Father, Mother," he called out, his voice trembling as he strode quickly toward Lin Xiaotian and Zhang Jingxiang.
Reaching his parents, Lin Yun’s hands trembled as he steadied his father. It was obvious from Lin Xiaotian’s condition that he had suffered greatly during his imprisonnt.
This was the first ti the family had been reunited in years. There was none of the joyous warmth he might have imagined—only deep, searing guilt and anger in Lin Yun’s heart.
Their injuries made it clear that the Royal Family had tortured them. Zhang Jingxiang’s wounds were relatively light, but Lin Xiaotian’s were far more severe.
"Father, Mother, I have failed you," Lin Yun said, his voice low and heavy.
The mont she saw Lin Yun, Zhang Jingxiang had already burst into tears. She had never wanted him to co and save them; all she ever wanted was for him to live a good life. It was a mother’s only wish for her son.
"Yun’Er..." The family embraced, Zhang Jingxiang weeping. For the past few years, she had thought of Lin Yun day and night.
After embracing his parents for a long mont, Lin Yun took out two Spring Breeze Soft Rain Pills. He gave one to Lin Xiaotian to consu. Zhang Jingxiang didn’t need one; her injuries weren’t severe and would heal with a period of rest.
He approached Zhong Lin. Though they hadn’t spent much ti together, Lin Yun had never forgotten everything Zhong Lin had done for him.
"Teacher," Lin Yun said.
Zhong Lin gave a wry smile. "You’ve grown so much. Your teacher is very proud."
Few words were needed between them. Lin Yun gave a Spring Breeze Soft Rain Pill to Zhong Lin as well and had him rest beside Lin Xiaotian to begin recovering.
Then there were Li Tian and Qin Feng, his sworn brothers. He hadn’t seen them in two years, and in that ti, both had broken through to the Qi Sea Realm. Seeing Lin Yun now, Li Tian smiled faintly.
"I knew you’d be back."
A wise glint shone in Li Tian’s eyes. During their imprisonnt by the Royal Family, Li Tian’s calm and collected deanor had been so remarkable that even Zhong Lin had to admire it.
Over ti, both Zhong Lin and Lin Xiaotian had discovered that Li Tian was an exceptionally intelligent man, knowledgeable about many things. Zhong Lin had even declared that Li Tian would one day make a na for himself throughout the entire Southeast Domain.
Brothers don’t need many words. Lin Yun gave each of them a hug, and the two tactfully stepped aside, leaving space for Lin Yun and Lu Bingning.
Aside from her pale complexion, Lu Bingning was as beautiful as ever. A gentle smile blood on her face as Lin Yun approached. She had always believed he would co, and that he would teach the Royal Family a harsh lesson. As it turned out, Lin Yun hadn’t disappointed her. The man she, Lu Bingning, had chosen had actually done it—he had made the proud Yanhuang Royal Family bow its head.
Lin Yun, however, didn’t notice the strange look that flashed in Puzhu’s eyes as he glanced at Lu Bingning.
"I’m sorry, I..." Lin Yun began, looking at Lu Bingning’s exquisite face with guilt. Before he could finish, she gently pressed a finger to his lips.
"I knew you would co. I never stopped believing," Lu Bingning said with a smile.
A gentle smile graced Lin Yun’s face as he looked at the stunningly beautiful Lu Bingning. Then, he pulled her into his arms. ’This gorgeous, noble woman is mine,’ he thought. ’For the rest of my life.’
On the surface, the matter seed to have been resolved perfectly. His parents, his friends, his woman—they were all safe. But Lin Yun didn’t see it that way. His father and his teacher were gravely injured, and a fire of rage burned in his heart.
Releasing Lu Bingning, Lin Yun looked up at Luo Feng on the Imperial Platform. Seeing his gaze, Luo Feng smiled, for he had already guessed Lin Yun’s thoughts. "I can only guarantee that no one from the Royal Family at the Early Stage of the Primordial Ocean Realm or higher will interfere," he said with a slight grin. "As for the rest... that’s up to you."
"That’s more than enough," Lin Yun said coldly.
As the two spoke in perfect concert, the expressions of the Emperor and Tang Chenming changed drastically. ’No one at the Early Stage of the Primordial Ocean Realm or above can interfere? At this rate, isn’t Lin Yun going to slaughter his way through the entire Imperial Palace?’
"Luo Feng, that’s enough! I allowed you to co to Yanhuang Country to rescue them, and now they are here. Don’t push your luck!" Du Ying’s eyes, which had been closed, snapped open, and he roared at Luo Feng, his gaze burning with anger.
"How am I pushing my luck?" Luo Feng shot back shalessly. "I’m not the one doing anything. Besides, who told them to lay such a heavy hand on my disciple’s family? It’s only natural that he would want revenge."
