The moment Davis revealed a ghastly smile, the blood mist around him solidified into essence the size of a pill before being swallowed by the white stone.

However, he lifted his scythe off his shoulder and rushed at the Celestial Transcendent.

*Bang!~*

With a single fist, the Celestial Transcendent punched Davis into oblivion.

"Insolent brat. Just because you won’t die, you intend to make me keep killing you and collect karmic sin for your original plan? You think I won’t dare to do it!?"

The Celestial Transcendent appeared angry as he berated Davis.

However, there came no reply.

He harrumphed and waved his hand as he began making runic inscriptions mid-air, the foremost rune containing the word [SEAL]. The chaos energy made up for one of the most suitable foundations for talismans, turning the runes even more powerful. When it was stacked, it became extremely powerful.

*Whoosh!~*

The wisp that lit up amidst the spectral remains, consisting of motes of faint light, abruptly fled from the Celestial Transcendent, momentarily stunning the latter.

This brat was still conscious at this state, or was it instinctive!?

With a step using the Chaotic Flux Steps, he quickly arrived before the fleeing wisp and swiped at it, intending to catch it.

’What?’

It slipped away from his grasp, causing him to be stunned again. This wisp also retained the elusory nature of the spectral body? No, since it was a truesoul wisp, it was even more ridiculously elusive.

*Whis!~*

Davis’s spectral skeletal form emerged from the wisp once more, revealing his ghostly face with a pale expression. Only his upper torso and head were visible as he opened his mouth.

"Try all you want. You can’t kill or capture me. Hehehe..."

He laughed and cackled in a wicked tone.

"HEHEHEHE~~"

His undead army resumed, along with his laughter as they cackled, instantly attacking the ones nearby them.

Eradun Grayscale, a ghost who was recently taken in by the Ghost Tear Hall’s Founder, found himself under the mand of the Divine Emperor of Death. He had no idea who his new master was, and he didn’t care if it was a Divergent or a Desolate Divergent.

All he cared about was one thing as his ghostly senses stormed the region.

He targeted a person with the Hydra bloodline and roared, "Hexadra Clan! Prepare to die! Grayscale Poison Fang!"

He leaped like a hound in his ghostly form and snapped at the space. Three fang marks emerged in that space and imprinted it with gaping slashes, causing it to be inflicted with poison.

"Ah! Bastard, I’m not from the Hexadra Clan...!"

"Don’t care! Die!"

The man who was poisoned abruptly began swelling. His Level Eight Exalt Stage undulations increasingly turned poisonous as his body inflated, his hair and his skin turning gray. He instantly turned into a grayish dust and began to sweep across the battlefield.

Wherever it went, the color of the world vanished, replaced with a monotone world that turned ashen and devoid of life.

"Hehehe! This body is great! It can allow me to exceed Level Nine Exalt Stage and grow closer to the peak of the layer limit."

Eradun Grayscale laughed as he slaughtered the enemies who wanted to slaughter his new master. His new master was giving him strength on demand. How could he not respond?

Like him, many other ghosts and corpses fought above their original prowess.

Their powers were nearing the layer limit bit by bit as long as they were already at the High Exalt Stage. Those who were at the Mid Exalt Stage reached the High Exalt Stage. Their powers increased as long as they demanded it, and the Will overlooking them automatically provided it.

It was such a feast! Their vengeance and resentment knew no bounds, perfect to be taken out on these people who dared to offend their master!

But suddenly, Eradun Grayscale and some of these undead warriors were stunned because they saw their descendants, family members holding the legacy treasures against them.

A Grand Elder from the Poison Grayscale Hound Clan shouted, "Eradun, please don’t be like this!"

Eradun Grayscale was stunned as he saw one of his wives appear on the battlefield. His expression wavered. However, she was holding hands with another man, another Grand Elder, a man very well known to him as he was his rival.

That man suddenly displayed a blatant smile.

Instantly, Eradun Grayscale’s black eyes turned even more vengeful.

"You little wench, you remarried that bastard, didn’t you!? I can’t accept! I won’t accept! Ahhhhh!~~~"

He rushed at them, but was momentarily suppressed by the Grayscale Clan’s Legacy Treasure, which had a suppression effect on souls and bloodlines.

Like Eradun Grayscale, some ghosts and corpses were facing trouble since they were from this realm, and these people from the Twelve Bastion Cities had converged from all over the realm to survive.

Davis kept fleeing. He couldn’t help but feel the plight of his undead denizens through his Will, making him turn to look at them.

A part of the battlefield had bee a mess with some family members uniting but forced to fight because of him. He supposed he was cruel.

*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*

But there was even more of a cruel- determined hand trying to catch him.

A palm filled with strange azure-gold life energy descended, but it wasn’t his. It belonged to the Celestial Transcendent, causing Davis to inwardly laugh-cry.

It was actually chipping at his Will bit by bit.

Although it missed his spectral body, it managed to claim the life in him. He supposed this was the power of the Celestial Transcendent’s wife, who appeared to be called Fairy Lifebloom.

"Die!"

Davis abruptly turned around and unleashed his judgment on the Celestial Transcendent once again.

*Bang!~*

The Celestial Transcendent’s forehead iced over like glaze and directly reflected Davis, causing the latter’s spectral body to disintegrate into motes of light.

"Did you think if it was pure death energy, it would succeed?"

The Celestial Transcendent said coldly.

This time, he formed a wall of chaos energy around the wisp as it transformed into reverent solar flames, not letting Davis escape.

The wisp appeared to be truly conscious as a vague cry of terror emerged, but the Celestial Transcendent didn’t believe this cunning brat one bit. He quickly drew runes, stacking them on top of each other before slapping them on the wisp.

Instantly, Davis’s wisp was encased in a strange golden ice.

It froze over before it could even reform into his Ghost Will body.

Sealed!

However, the Celestial Transcendent saw the wisp flash strangely right before the wisp froze over.

He narrowed his brows, sensing a faint hint of twilight within the seal. He used his chaotic senses to trace it back to the source and gazed at a black-purple-robed woman floating in the air as she held a wisp in one hand and the other, a broken treasure, which he instantly recognized as the replica that allowed her to fight past the layer limit.

His gaze flickered, "I was starting to wonder if you have all really just e here to sacrifice him to appease the heavens. Astral Night Demoness, hand him over, and I’ll grant you a painless death despite the massacres you have mitted."

Fairy Qiyra Darkstar quivered ever so lightly, unable to understand how Davis could fight against this tremendous pressure. She didn’t think she could fight with a hundred percent of her strength while facing this indomitable aura. Nonetheless, she wasn’t tasked with fighting the Celestial Transcendent.

The wisp hovering above Fairy Qiyra Darkstar’s palm blossomed into a wicked, ghostly Davis yet again.

"Haha... my apologies, you all." Davis sent Fairy Qiyra Darkstar a soul transmission, "I boasted about the plan, but when it was time, it was really hard to go with it, especially after I gained the white stone replica, which allowed me to fight the Celestial Transcendent nearly equally. As a result, I made it really hard to grasp for you all what I’m exactly doing here, but we’re more or less getting back to the plan."

"Don’t worry~ You were amazing~"

"Little brother, I am thoroughly in awe. Only, aren’t we in dire straits?"

Laphria Rinmei and Jaiyan’s voices also resounded through Fairy Qiyra Darkstar.

Davis blinked. Even he didn’t know where they were hiding.

"But there’s a small caveat."

Nonetheless, he quickly informed them of his modified idea.

After hearing his idea, the three of them went silent before asking at the same time.

"How is this small...?"

However, Davis couldn’t reply as their brief break which lasted for ten seconds was over.

Two more avatars of the Celestial Transcendent descended, their undulations converging into an incredible pressure that made them all hold their breaths.
