The joyous and boisterous atmosphere of the banquet instantly died down over the sudden matter of the food of the groom and brides being poisoned.
Davis had his eyes narrowed as he heard Rai Zenfla's response. He thought the other party would attack directly and not try a thod like this when considering the cultivation base he possessed, but no, he was naive.
He failed to consider the shalessness of a person at an individual level, but even logically, this was the right course of action since by poisoning him and causing him to die, Rai Zenfla would not be arrested by Law Enforcent because of the lack of evidence.
Accurately, there was no factual evidence since he did have a piece of vague evidence. His only evidence was Nadia's nose.
When he had sat with Sophie and Niera, Nadia had returned to him. Also, being a glutton, she wanted the delicious food made by Mingzhi. However, she quickly noticed sothing strange from the aroma, making her feel like it was the aroma of death. She didn't particularly think that it was poison, but her instincts told her that she wouldn't survive after eating that, so she instantly warned Davis through their link.
That was how he found out.
Even though Nadia was watching Rai Zenfla the whole ti, she didn't see him poison anything but was suspicious about him since he wasn't paying attention to Davis's battle occasionally. Now that she had found sothing strange on a few dishes, she instantly connected the dots and was almost convinced that it was Rai Zenfla who had done sothing to the food.
However, vague evidence like a witness's testimony, especially when that witness was on his side, wouldn't be taken seriously, so he didn't even bother to share it.
"Perhaps, one of your wives could no longer withstand their envy and acted on their vengeful emotions, no? In that case, that would be your problem."
"Ahaha."
Davis couldn't help but laugh at that statent from Rai Zenfla, his expression looking utterly amused.
His won? Cheating on him? That was the funniest thing he had ever heard since he factually knew how crazy they were about him to do sothing so stupid.
All it did was cause him to laugh but that laugh slowly turned a bit vile and murderous.
At this mont, Ruven Longstrand appeared before Davis with a few seniors behind him. They checked the food for poison, and one of them abruptly raised their brows in astonishnt.
"It's true. A few dishes are poisoned. If I'm not wrong, it's the Seamless Dawn Flower Blight Poison that's at Immortal King Grade, and this one seems even more refined and stronger than all the Dawn Flower Blight Poison I've seen in my life."
"Not only can it burn one's internal organs, leading to a bodily death with no chance of regeneration until the poisonous energy is dispersed, but it also causes the soul to enter a coma, ultimately leading to one's death after the complete invasion. It's a fast-acting poison with little redies considering its prowess."
Davis's face again beca solemn as he heard of this information.
Mingzhi's expression changed as her face turned frosty while staring at Rai Zenfla, "Then tell how I supposedly obtained a formless and odorless poison that's at the Immortal King Grade, probably at the peak of the Immortal King Grade if I'm not wrong."
"How should I know? Maybe you had an affair with another man, and he gave you this to finish them off? I an, how loyal could a sixth wife be?"
Everyone's expression froze while Mingzhi's breasts heaved as she took a deep breath after hearing Rai Zenfla's despicable accusation. She was at a loss for words, brimming with incomparable anger to be accused in this manner.
Isabella, Shirley, and the others were all shocked over this matter from start to end.
Even Evelynn was shocked as she couldn't find anything strange in the food with her poisonous ability. The poison was extrely undetectable that it required a special type of nose in the lower levels like Nadia's to sniff its presence. They were utterly grateful to her. Otherwise, they knew Davis, Sophie, and Niera would've died shortly after feasting on Mingzhi's food.
At that ti, they couldn't imagine how mortified Mingzhi would feel. Now that she was even being falsely accused in many ways, they could no longer withstand it.
"Husband, kill him."
"Kill him~"
"Yes, slice him into pieces so that even his mother wouldn't recognize him."
"Ahaha!"
Except for Mingzhi, every one of Davis's wives instantly voiced out that he removed Rai Zenfla from existence which caused the other party to laugh as though he was entertained beyond compare.
Even Egon Zenfla and Tegon Zenfla were snickering along with Rai Zenfla, appearing to be enjoying this matter.
"Unfortunately, I'm not capable of killing a Late Immortal King who's nearer to the Immortal Emperor Stage at the mont, but he did sign his own death contract. His life will surely be reaped sooner or later."
Davis remained calm despite the intense urge to kill that was swelling in his heart. His killing intent was suppressed from his gaze, but his voice was seeping with murderous intent. He had to keep himself seated to restrict himself from what was obviously a bad move, which was attacking Rai Zenfla, who could one-shot him before he even did anything at this close range.
If anything, he could only get Fallen Heaven to move, but if he did that, he was sure it would lead to a collapse of so kind with how the people with grand fates have gathered here to his marriage. Even the second-ranked and seventh-ranked true disciples were here, but they remained silent from the start to now, simply watching the show.
On the other hand, Evelynn and the others didn't know Rai Zenfla was a Late Immortal King. They thought he was an Early Immortal King utmost as they were not aware of the earlier commotion that happened outside.
"Insolent! What kind of trouble are you making here on this wonderful occasion, senior Rai Zenfla? Did you forget that I've been put in charge of their matter? Are you trying to sabotage our true goals?"
Abruptly, Zahara Zenfla stood up as she coldly gazed at the n of the Zenfla Family. Their expressions froze before Rai Zenfla wryly smiled.
"My apologies, junior sister. They accused of poisoning them without any evidence, so I rely returned back the favor. If people want to run their mouths, no one can stop them. You'd either have to punch them in the face or give them their own dicine. I can't do the forr, so I chose the latter and did such an immature thing like accusing people without evidence."
Rai Zenfla appeared to be embarrassed as he rubbed his head. He then further turned and cupped his hands towards Davis before panning to the crowd.
"If I have offended anyone, then I apologize. It was just... I couldn't endure being falsely accused when I was rely feasting on this exquisite food prepared for us guests."
"..."
The crowd was quite unresponsive, as though watching a show, but Davis and the others still maintained the sa gaze as they viewed Rai Zenfla.
He was a dead fey in their eyes.
