In another, possibly distant location, Myria stepped out of the spatial vortex, raising her hand to see blood slightly spraying from her severed wrist. She rembered amidst the unfurling whistling winds, slicing through the air like blades, a sharp blade of wind sliced her hand at the wrist before Davis was absorbed into the spatial vortex he deployed through crushing the life-saving spatial talisman.
Myria couldn't help but heave a breath. Only she had seen this occur.
'What was that peculiar wind blade? It was more powerful than the others and ca in our direction as though wanting to separate us, severing my hand before we could enter the spatial vortex. Is fate so skewed for us like this, acting to decrease chances of survival when in danger?' Myria wondered.
Fortunately, she also used a spatial talisman to make her escape after Davis disappeared along with her severed hand. Otherwise, the frigid torrential wind from the vent would've frozen and shattered her into millions of pieces if she had been a bit too late.
Myria shook her head, "It's all my fault. I should've conquered the possibility of the Unfettered Behemoth Ice Fiend making a move in that state. I thought it was incapacitated… but, looking at the broken ice segnt, I should've known."
Myria clenched her teeth, becoming angered at herself. The broken segnt in the sealed ice structure that held the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend was already a clue that the heart had cracked the ice these millions of years, aning that it would have the power to do it again.
However, Myria already knew this matter, but her only mistake was thinking if it could do it again, it must've done it already. After all, fighting the invaders with Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiends was more efficient than splitting into many weaker versions of itself. But since it didn't send Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiends, it ant that it couldn't send them out even if it wanted to. They were stuck unless they could split.
Therefore, she excluded that possibility and didn't consider it anymore.
But when the heart was actually in danger, warned by the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend's abhorrent yet pleading cries, the sealed heart unleashed its power, most likely using its last dregs of power that it had stored in century millenniums to slightly break the sealed ice structure. The steep drop in its aura they all sensed at that mont was evident of that.
Myria took a deep breath again. By the ti she imrsed in her mistakes and wondered what she should have done instead, her severed hand had already regrown, life energy retreating into her soul sea.
She couldn't help but slightly trace her palm with her thumb, feeling a trace of touch lingering before she turned to look around.
"Now then, where exactly am I?"
She chose a path for herself out of the two. She could only go one way or another in a tunnel and could only change directions if she saw other ways, but there was none as far as her eyes could see, and her soul could sense.
However, her gaze flickered as her soul sense brushed against an entity, and it was a recognizable one.
"Ah! Fairy Myria… it's you!"
A suave voice echoed from a distance with delight.
Myria narrowed her eyes as she looked at the azure-robed man beco more visible in the distance. Within a few seconds, he was in front of her, smiling confidently. His wild deanor truly exuded a suave charm from him capable of attracting the eyes of many won.
He was none other than Nyx Godwin, the ranked one individual of the True Disciple Immortal Rankings in the Aurora Cloud Gate.
He cupped his hands, "Fairy Myria, I'm glad you are safe. That was a close call if I must say, but as long as you're alive, I suppose all is well."
Myria lightly nodded, not giving much of a response to Nyx Godwin. She floated past him, intending to see what was on this side, when his voice echoed again.
"Ah, Fairy Myria. That way is just a dead end. I confird it and was heading in your direction when your soul sense brushed against ."
"Is that so?"
"Yes."
Despite Nyx Godwin's answer, Myria continued to move in that direction. Nyx Godwin lightly smiled but didn't say anything again. He simply followed her. After so ti, they finally arrived at the end of the cave. There was so water essence having lted, but below that water, there was only ice, possessing no route.
She chanced upon an Early Immortal King Grade treasure that didn't even catch Nyx Godwin's eyes at first, but still, this was a dead end, as he said unless they could break it open, but the ice here was as thick as substances that are at Late Immortal King Stage.
There was no way they could break it.
Nonetheless, confirming Nyx Godwin's words were true, Myria's impression of him slightly increased. She turned around, flying in the only remaining direction. However, she stopped, her brows squinting.
"What do you think you are doing?"
Nyx Godwin had his hands folded as he blocked Myria's path. His eyes retained a wild glint, but his expression was composed, his lips moving.
"Didn't I tell you that it was a dead end?"
Myria stared at him for a few seconds. In the end, she only said a single word.
"Move."
Nyx Godwin couldn't help but soundlessly scoff at her word before he smiled and gestured.
"Fairy Myria, I can tell you're a beautiful woman whose beauty even eclipses Rea Tyriel. Your intellect also leaves any woman- no, any man in the dust, even the elders I saw back in my power, and your skill in spirit formations is worthy of extre praise. I have never seen a woman like you, a woman that every man would want, and unfortunately, I'm the sa. I want you. Leave him and co to ."
His deep voice growled with desire, a passionate intent gleaming in his eyes.
