Inside a palace, a black-eyed, black-haired, white-robed man stood amongst a group of armored individuals.
Each soldier wore formidable, obsidian-black armor that not only provided excellent protection but also instilled fear in their enemies. He could tell that they were known for their ruthless efficiency, unwavering loyalty, and unparalleled combat skills just by their discipline.
Nonetheless, they ford a tight circle around him, their black armor creating a stark contrast against his pure white robe.
In unison, those black-armored soldiers cupped their hands towards him, their actions indicating deep respect, leaving him speechless.
One of them, who seed to be the leader, carried a obsidian tortoise shell on his back. He appeared before him and bowed in respect.
"Our apologies. We have been tasked to deal with the ascenders to check for a certain individual, and we have confird that it is you. If we have been rude to you before, please forgive us."
The black-armored man spoke before bowing once again.

Logan had no choice but to blink as he looked at the Immortal King in front of him.
Originally, he had worn a disguise, but he was seen through right after being captured. Due to his sensitive identity, which he was aware of, he didn't choose to wear a black robe but wanted to appear like a scholarly cultivator who had just ascended.
Due to his polite and civil nature, he thought he would not be asked many questions. But he was still brought to the side, into a palace, to be inspected and was found wearing a disguise.
The next thing he knew, their expressions went solemn before they were now cupping their hands to him.
However, Logan couldn't tell whether they were enemies or allies or enemies acting as allies to his son. He smiled lightly, appearing to look away with a scholarly vibe.
"General of the Third Division from the Obsidian Turtle Crystal Clan. I think you have the wrong person. I am nothing but a humble scholar who walked the path of cultivation and managed to chance upon an inheritance from an immortal who ascended in my Skep-Ti-Kal Sha-Di Lower World. See? Logan brought out an imperial token from an empire nad Sha-Di. It seed quite authentic with its make. However, the Third Division's General lightly smiled.
"Your son was also a master of disguises, mixing life and death and managing to fool everyone."

"Now then, we have to leave and make it to the Aurora Cloud Gate, delivering you safely. Otherwise, we can't handle the wrath of the Emperor of Death."

Logan's heart shook, "Is… is he alive?"
He was unable to fool around any longer.
Sohow, the Third Division General's expression turned proud.
"Of course. He's our prophetic savior. How could he die an early death? Your son, the Emperor of Death, is destined for a grand future."

Logan's eyes were wide while he looked away and kept nodding his head.
So his life tablet breaking was just a false alarm?
"General, I fear we have to leave in a small brigade. Otherwise, the others present here may notice our movents and raise the alarm."
A Vice General ca beside them and sent a soul transmission to the General, causing the latter to nod in contemplation.
"Hmm. Very true. The Hex Demoness did ask us to bring him secretively."
Suddenly, his purple eyes flickered before he raised his hand and pointed towards a soldier.
"You. Co here."
"Yes!"
The soldier instantly responded, coming forward before performing a respectful greeting with cupped hands. However, what he heard next caused his head to almost explode.
"Strip down."I think you should take a look at
"General…?"
"Everyone, strip him!"
"Nooo~"
Abruptly, he was attacked by a bunch of crazy black-armored n.
The poor soldier was left naked with only his underwear, but the armor went to Logan.
Clad in obsidian armor, he looked dashing, but with a helt worn, he appeared the sa as the soldier of the Third Division.
"All good." The Third Division's Vice General gave a thumbs up, "Let the Second Brigade make their way to the Aurora Cloud Gate. I'm sure soone from the Emperor of Death's family would be waiting for us at the aforentioned border."
"Fair enough."
The General nodded. However, he was still worried about the prowess of the Second Brigade that was lacking compared to his own.
"You should also go. I'll leave my soul body here and follow you all out in disguise."
"That's good too, broth- General,"
"Haha!"
The Third Division's General laughed and turned to look around.
"Everyone, what you saw here is none of your concern. Your mission now is to act like you saw nothing and let a white-robed man appear like he's a guest here."
Instantly, the soldier who was stripped was wearing a white robe, appearing classy and handso. He went ahead and looked in the mirror, admiring his own image, when a kick to his butt sent him flying.
"However, you cannot relax. If we fail in this, I assure you we're going to all die."
"Yes!"
The thousand-mber Division roared, and the Second Brigade also responded to the mission briefing they were given by the Vice General before they took Logan away, heading out of the palace. Soon enough, the Third Division's General also followed out.
He eventually caught up to a flying boat making its way towards the Aurora Cloud Gate, and seeing that they were not impeded by any other army or the assassins located back in the vicinity of the Ascendance Monunts, he heaved a gentle sigh of relief.
However, he frowned as he sensed a disturbance in his spatial ring, knowing that it was one of his ssaging talismans. Although his division did have a ssaging talisman that could not be listened to, it was relative as the other armies had indeed set up formations specifically to intercept and listen to their conversations. He was anxious that others could hear it if he were to use it now.
He eventually made the decision to take the ssaging talisman, causing his expression to churn.
"General! The assassins have slaughtered us all! Please make a run for-"
"What!?"
The Third Division's General was stunned. He shared a connection with his soul body back in the palace, so when he stord out of the room where he was enjoying his tea ti with the disguised soldier, he saw a silencing-type formation along with around three hundred assassins, all at the Immortal King turn to look at him.
"…!"

At that mont, his scalp turned numb as he destroyed his own soul body. The disguised soldier who saw this scene had his eyes flash with a decisive glint as he also stabbed his soul with a dagger, dying on the spot.
*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*
Many assassins appeared around him, their expressions calm, yet one could see the fury in their eyes.
"He's not the Emperor of Death's relative, is he?"
"Probably not. If they were, they wouldn't give up so easily, having so trump cards to escape from here. Besides, that General decisively destroyed his soul body from being traced by you, Oracular Reaver Abode."
"A brigade did leave earlier in a flying boat, so it's possible the white-robed man who was said to have ascended and escorted by them here could only be possibly there in that flying boat."
"Tch, that ans we missed the target by a slight margin!? Heh! This is a good challenge. Let's see if my Malevolent Blade Hall or your Soulsteal Pearl Temple and Oracular Reaver Abode can kill or capture the target first!"
Saying so with a peculiar yet eerie laugh, the assassins disappeared one by one before they all vanished in three seconds, leaving a bloody palace with hundreds of corpses.
