The skies the assassins were in beca pitch-black, causing them to slowly retreat while the Vice General couldn't help but chuckle lightly.
Although reinforcents from his Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan were pouring out, even having an Ancestor-level character appear, he knew his death was just a finger's distance away.
"Ancestor, kill these damned assassins!"
The Vice General roared, his voice resounding with unconcealed fury as he leaped forward, biting the finger of Fairy Skyreaver and snapping down on it like a snapping turtle!

The assassins tried to escape in all directions, so managing to get out before the purple veil completely enveloped them, while so others beca stuck in the air as though they were frozen solid. The next mont, their figures twisted, contorted, and crushed, blood splashing from their bodies.
The spatial force was too strong for them to defend against it, causing around thirty Peak Immortal King assassins to die a grueso death.

From a distance, Logan was watching the scene with intense disbelief.
Contrary to the Vice General's belief, Logan hadn't escaped. He was safe near them as it was possible the enemies would chase after him in the opposite direction or in the direction of the Aurora Cloud Gate where he was going, but he went in the least expected direction, trying to outsmart them all.
Seeing these soldiers sacrifice their lives for him, he felt furious but knew he wouldn't be able to do anything about it, so he stayed low, using the concealnt disc handed over by the Vice General to him while etching their appearances in his eyes.
But now, he saw that the reinforcents had arrived, causing him to heave a sigh of relief.

Abruptly, a breeze flew past him, causing him to turn shocked, as he saw a purple-haired woman flying past him.
"Daughter-in-law!"
Logan shouted, his expression turning excited.
Up in the skies, Isabella ca to a stop as she turned to look back before glancing down, her eyes widening.
"Father-in-law, there you are…"
She hurriedly descended, casting a look back, and saw that the assassins had been taken care of while the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan's Ancestor was descending, causing waves of wind to billow out. That ancestor had naturally detected Logan's position, but seeing that it was the famous Earth Dragon Empress, he didn't say anything.
"Report what happened."
Nonetheless, he was still sullen as he asked the Vice General what was going on. The latter was still in shock, unable to believe that he survived, even asking why he should've ended up dead along with his brothers. Eventually, he ca out of his reverie and reverently explained to his Ancestor that he would never see in his lifeti but had the honor to now.
Logan rushed towards Isabella and appeared before her.
"Daughter-in-law, it's good to see you. Is it true? He really is alive, isn't he?"
"Of course."
Isabella smiled behind her veil, "He is alive and well than I must say, considering the odds he's facing. In fact, he just left to a secret realm, or else, he would've rushed to you, father-in-law."
"I see… good." Logan kept nodding his head, his gaze turning contemplative.
Looks like he really was with the allies and two enemies fighting to capture him and threaten his son. However, the more he felt suspicious of them, the more he felt guilt. They had sacrificed their lives for him, making him wonder if he really had made the right decision in ascending.
But suddenly, he felt confused, turning to look in the direction Isabella ca from.
Wasn't that the sa direction where the Ascendance Monunts were?
A second later, he grasped that his daughter-in-law Isabella must have rushed to him upon hearing he was there but then turned around. As forr rivals, he couldn't help but feel heartened, but sensing her powerful undulations, he was still taken aback.
It wasn't much ti after they left the Grand Beginnings Continent, but they had grown so much in cultivation, leaving him proud. If Isabella was this strong, then he could naturally imagine how strong his son was. Nonetheless-
"Let's go. We might have to apologize to them for their losses."
"No need. They're probably doing this to curry favor with him."

Logan rembered how close the soldiers were to each other. That kind of relationship where they walked life and death together could only be built on battlefields, sothing that he also craved himself as an adventurer.
He lunged ahead, causing Isabella to shake her head and follow as her lips curled into a smile.
In the distance, the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan's Ancestor held a ssaging talisman, reporting to the Hex Demoness of the situation.
"I see. So father-in-law is safe…"
Evelynn remained in the mansion. The pressure on her shoulder had considerably lessened, but also, listening to their causalities, she couldn't help but feel sorry. An entire division was wiped out overnight. That was nothing short of owing them a deep debt as she was sure Davis wouldn't look at their lives according to their statuses but by the help they had given them.
"The Earth Dragon Queen has also arrived on the scene, so I think we won't be needed anymore, but just in case, we'll escort them to the Aurora Cloud Gate."

Quickly, she activated the other ssaging talisman and scread into that as well.
"Turtle Ancestor, the Isabella there is an impostor! Quick, save father-in-law!"

The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Ancestor's expression froze. Only his eyes moved, glancing at the purple-robed woman who was no more than five ters away from him and heard the conversation.
"I see. So you're going to be so cold to , first sister. That's so… an."
Isabella's eyes flashed with a malevolent light. The next second, Logan saw an unbelievable scene that had his heart thumping out adrenaline as his mind scread for him to escape no matter what as Isabella turned into a white-haired fairy in her thirties while his allies all turned mute.
He could see them shouting and screaming, trying to move yet their figures were slowly encapsulated by a dark yellow light as though they were paper being burned by flas before they disappeared out of the scene.
"You... who are you....?"
The white-haired woman flashed a smile, "Co on. You're his father but don't recognize my Myria? How blind are you?"
Logan was visibly shook.
A male voice emanated out from the figure he would recognize as Myria but obviously, it was not her!
Turning around, he instantly tried to escape like his life depended on it!
"Hey, hey. Don't run. I went to great lengths to bait you here~ Ahahahahaaha!"
