Nurous emotions overca Clara as tears welled up in her purple eyes.
In a sense, she was more closer to her father than her mother due to her duties as the Empress of the Loret Empire back then. Although Logan wasn't necessarily there to teach her the ways, because she had been the Empress for a brief period of ti, she was able to understand what her father went through and why he lacked ti to look after his close ones.
Now that she realized that he could no longer be present or even have that little bit of ti where she cherished his presence, her heart reverberated with pain. She closed her eyes, unable to bear this result.
"Brother…" She deeply wished that he was here.
"I'm sorry… I'm sorry…"
Isabella couldn't stop her tears as she voiced out to Clara and the others. She was ashad beyond compare.
She thought she held the determination to stake her life to save her father-in-law but realized that she wasn't such a vessel when death almost shrouded her. At that mont, her life flashed before her eyes: her ti with Davis, her ti with Celestia and the others… she wanted a chance again to cherish those monts so much.
In other words, she got frightened and cast away her determination after she got a second chance and deeply learned that there was nothing that could be done to save her father-in-law.
As Evelynn said, the enemy was just too strong. If she insisted on exchanging herself for father-in-law, it didn't take much to think that only a cruel fate awaited her. However, whether she would be violated or brutally murdered was her secondary worry, as the effect that it would have on Davis made her even more afraid of exchanging herself, understanding the implications of her being a hostage.
She knew he would go crazy considering Davis's character, and if he was not careful, their entire family could fall apart.
She wanted to avoid such a future.
However, no matter what she thought, she did make the decision to abandon her father-in-law, the guilt killing her from inside.
She didn't know how Davis would react to this as well, making her shudder in Evelynn's embrace.
"Well, I did unleash a karmic attack along with my light-attributed technique, as these outsiders are rather pesky with possessing or using avatars and whatnot."
Suddenly, Guardian Ryheris Yilan uttered, causing the ladies to turn shocked as they looked at him.
"However, whether he would be hard or not is unknown."
He shook his head, causing their hopeful eyes to turn dim once again. However, Evelynn's eyes still held so hope. Unlike Guardian Ryheris Yilan, she didn't want to get their hopes up but still held a strong belief that her father-in-law could be saved.

"Ahhhh!"
A painful male voice resounded from a blue-haired woman.
It was none other than Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion. He faltered back and grabbed his hair as it seed to be burning along with his entire body. He appeared as though he was going to be exorcised as his entire body had red lines running through him, as though his veins had flas searing through, but it wasn't long before he managed to regain control of himself and roared furiously.
"Insolent bitch!"
Cursing Isabella, he appeared to have successfully defended against the karmic attack, but with his appearance, he seed to be at death's doorstep, scorched beyond recognition, not that anyone could recognize him as he possessed a female body.
"You will indeed die a dog's death…"
A vengeful voice of a woman could be heard, but Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion rely scoffed.
What he did was trade the karmic blow with the owner of this body using Malediction Laws, causing the woman to die.
Indeed, the Grand Elder of the Heaven Gazing Hall was completely dead at this mont. She had grieved being possessed and couldn't do anything about it, but now, she completely disappeared from this world, leaving a husk of her burned body that was still being controlled by a malevolent soul.
She was a Mystic Diviner and cursed him in her death, causing negative emotions to manifest from her soul and latch onto Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion.
However, who was he?
"Ahahaha~"
Being a master in Malediction Laws, he laughed like a maniac as he suppressed the manifestations of a karmic curse from falling on him, even controlling it as he directed it towards Logan.

Right now, Logan was bleeding from head to toe.
Because he had spat on Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, he was sent flying like a ragdoll, flying through the air as he crashed into nurous tall and wide trees. It had completely left him immobile, his bones crushed, and his limbs exploded as they bore the brunt of the impact.
Half his right shoulder disappeared, leaving him with his heart exposed from the other side. He was just left with his left leg sowhat intact while he gasped for breath.
Logan had no doubt that if he wasn't an Immortal Stage Cultivator, he would've died by now.
With his immortal vessel intact, he knew his body wouldn't give up even if his heart failed. However, the damage he incurred completely left him physically disabled, forcing him to escape with his soul, but he knew if he did that, he would be easily captured and tortured to death.
With his energy in chaos, he couldn't even detonate his dantian, causing him to wryly yet silently laugh as blood spurted out of his mouth.
Looking further, he saw Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion send a dark yellow rune towards him. He didn't know what it ant, but just looking at it gave him the chills, his instincts screaming at him to run. However, using all the willpower he could muster, he stood up with his remaining leg and pounced towards the accursed rune, opening his mouth as though he was going to bite and swallow it.
Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion narrowed his brows before smiling, "You think I will let you die an easy death?"
He pulled the accursed rune back, causing Logan to falter and fall face-first onto the ground. Blood splashed from his severed body, causing him to appear miserable, which Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion took pleasure in.
"Now that your willful daughter-in-law abandoned you, I have no choice but to capture you. Unpleasant as it is for the both of us, I think your ti spent with would be very… interesting."
Logan coughed blood as he listened. He couldn't help but reveal a battered yet cold smile as he raised his head and looked at the scorched, half-naked bald woman.
"That's how it should be…" His voice was low but filled with pride.
"I wouldn't wish to be a father-in-law who would demand a daughter-in-law to sacrifice her life for him. It's the other way around, so I'm glad things turned out the way it is…"
"You talk good, but it really makes one wonder if you would be able to endure the upcoming torture- oh no, I ant if your son would be able to endure the torture I inflict upon you. Hehehe~"

Logan felt a wave of spine-chilling coldness spread throughout his body. Those words… were no lies, but he rely chuckled and slamd his face on the floor again. There was no one left to save him. Realizing this undeniable truth, a light cracking sound erged from his mouth.
This cracking sound would've eluded anyone but Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion, who paid close attention that his entire soul force was shrouding Logan's body right now.
His expression flashed, and he appeared before Logan, reaching out his hand and grabbing Logan's black hair as he lifted his face and looked at his expression that was contorted with suffering.
"Bastard, you swallowed soul poison!?"
Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion roared. He felt vindictive, wanting to crush Logan then and there, but knowing that he was the only card he had to trap Davis and Myria, he hesitated before popping a valuable healing pill into Logan's mouth and forcing him to swallow with a wave of soul force.
