Davis's eyes flickered with joy. He felt it had been a long ti since he saw her since she was cooped up researching for him. It was only three weeks, but so many things happened. He felt bad, quickly walked towards her, and gave a full, warm hug and a soft smooch to her cheek.
Myria smiled, "Glad to see you're back safely."
"Yes, I will always return without fail."
Davis chuckled before he hugged Tina and Dalila as well. The way they were smiling appeared as though they had good news, but he didn't ask. He first made them sit along with the others and inford them of Mingzhi and Lea's pregnancies.
Needless to say, they were shocked and full of well wishes.
As alchemists, they knew numbers the best, and comprehending the chances of this happening was extrely lucky.
"How wonderful~" Tina bead, "Nadia would soon give birth within two weeks, and Fiora is due in a month. Iesha's is a bit difficult to pinpoint, but she would give birth in three or five months. Spirits are born quickly, but she has a human-spirit child, and each spirit race is different. As for Mingzhi and Lea, if they ti it right, they can deliver together in eight months. I can also deliver in nine months if you allow to bear a child right now~"

Everyone couldn't help but laugh as they saw Tina throw in a desire of her own there.
Davis smilingly shook his head, "I would love to but too many pregnancies aren't good. There won't be enough sisters to take care of them."
"Why don't we just assign maids?" Dalila offered but then realized her mistake as she wryly giggled.
The others stared at her, lightly shaking their heads.
"Guess not." Dalila zipped her mouth and shyly smiled.
"But she's right though." Shirley sighed, "I had many maids work for at my fingertip when I was a princess. Now, I need to get everything on my own or rely on my friend Esvele, but she can't take care of everything even if she's the head maid. Also, if she's the head maid, she needs so maids under her."
"You have a point." Davis nodded before he turned to look at everyone, "However, let's be a bit pragmatic. I don't want anyone else within my mansion other than the people I approve of. Esvele is special in the notion that she already knows what betraying is like, and she wouldn't do it again, even if it costs her life. I personally vetted her, or I wouldn't even allow her near Shirley. Can anyone bring such a person into this family?"
"…" Shirley and the others could only blink.
From the refugees to allies, they had many candidates in mind and could choose from a vast amount of personnel, but they couldn't say if they would have the Davis Family's best interests at heart.
They had been with Esvele and talked to her many tis since she served them on a daily basis, so they already possessed a lot of trust in her. But other maids?
The reason why they never uttered a word about maids was that they were careful that Davis might fall prey to an innocent-acting maid or if that maid would slowly enter his heart through patient or devious ans. That wasn't good, in their opinion.
"I'd be willing to be a maid."
Abruptly, a voice echoed from way behind.
Everyone turned to look, and their hearts shook.
How did they not recognize an Empyrean Beast right in their hall? However, Evelynn remained calm since she knew of her existence from controlling the mansion's formations. They had heard about Illumina, but this was their first ti seeing her since they missed her when she ca here once.
"What? Are you serious?" Davis was gobsmacked.
He gave her free will as long as she participated in his experints and protected the family. He didn't want to be cruel to Katherine. She was nothing but a teenager in his eyes, but he acknowledged Illumina as a seasoned warrior. That's why he was able to ask her about it on top of his greed for a loyal subordinate.
He even imagined her not seeing eye to eye with Aila since they both possessed rabbit bloodlines.
However, she was choosing to be a maid? He really didn't expect it since he thought she would ultimately end up with the Reaper Soul Legion.
Illumina cupped her hands and bowed, "Before I beca a palace guard, I did everything from cleaning to cooking for Glenda back then, so I am well versed in taking care of dostic jobs. Also, my new species technique seems to be capable of producing dark, illusory yet real bodies, each one capable of remaining active for three days on their own while having a percentage of my strength. With that, I'm confident that I'd be able to serve everyone in this mansion."

An Empyrean Beast maid with rabbit ears? What sort of world were they living in now?
Mingzhi gave a side eye to Davis and looked back at Illumina again, "A bunny girl…"
She couldn't believe her eyes. What she was seeing was a beautiful bunny girl with a magnificent queenly aura wanting to be a maid.
Of course, Esvele also possessed an emperor-tier bloodline thanks to Freya, but this wasn't the sa. One was a literal beast who may not be able to suppress their instincts and, with a single wave of their hand, sever the heads of multiple people over the slightest inconvenience.
She didn't know Illumina enough to trust her with such a position and didn't think Davis would-
"Alright, if you want to try being a maid, I wouldn't say no. I trust you."
"Wha-" Mingzhi and the others scrambled.
They pulled Davis to the side and discussed it with him.
"You- what are you saying? I know you saved Illumina, and I know of her loyal character, but she's too strong, and there are kids here. Just a single wave of undulation could kill them."
"Is that so?"
Davis reached out his hand and caressed Viridia's head. She was in Evelynn's embrace, quietly snuggling as she surveyed her surroundings and kept an eye on.
"I guess so." He took back his hand and nodded, "But I don't think Illumina will harm them. I know you're all worried about her bloodthirsty past, so give her a chance. If you don't like it, I won't say otherwise. This is the mansion, and the Harem Council has all the right to change and demand how they want to live."
"However, I won't allow individual maids for each and every one of you as I'm aware they can possibly utter words that damage our relationship and put strange thoughts in your heads, even if it isn't their intention. In this case, I don't need to be worried about Illumina since she wouldn't do such a thing. She is not the type to chit-chat or spread rumors. She is serious, even more than Esvele."
"…" Mingzhi blinked.
The others also went into thought.
When they think about maids, they always wonder what it would an for Davis and not themselves. Now that they see his perspective, they understand that maids for each and every one of them are akin to inviting outsiders to facilitate and beco aware of a lot of secrets and problems in the relationship.
"First of all, who is Illumina?" Tina asked.
"Haha, that's right. Let's talk about everything that happened to us first."
Davis laughed and brought his beauties back to the seats again.
