Davis handed over an Empyrean Grade Treasure to the Starnova Emperor, their eyes exchanging so information.
With the Starfall Gaze Lower Realm winning the sixth round by defeating Esvele, whom they no longer saw as just a maid, they all cheered. It felt like a true victory against the Divine Emperor of Death, no matter how small it may be, improving their morale greatly.
"Good, good. What do you think of this, Lea? Is this fun?"
Davis turned to ask Lea, causing her to giggle.
"It is amusing, but is there a need to do all nine battles three tis? Just a few would've been enough."
"Haha, it's not like they would be willing to engage in banter with us. Besides, battles are fun, but we can't just give away Empyrean Grade Resources like that. Otherwise, they'll complain that bandits don't know how to protect their assets since they didn't earn it or sothing like that."
"We're not bandits~"
Lea elbowed him with a smile, causing him to make a bold expression as he leaned towards her face.
"Am I not the bandit who stole you from the Burning Phoenix Sect?"
"…"
Lea smilingly glared at him, her eyes glazed.
"Alright, let's continue with the seventh round. Immortal Emperor Stage experts, enter the stage." Davis waved his hand.
Everyone froze, thinking the Divine Emperor of Death was going to enter. After all, it was the last Immortal Emperor round.
However, three supre geniuses who took the initiative landed at the sa ti before the barrier activated, so they had no choice but to battle it out with each other. After a flurry of attacks, the last one standing was a man clad in red from the Blood Tempest Sovereign Lower Realm.
Without any regard for elders or the Divine Emperor of Death, he didn't say anything and pointed towards a woman.
"I challenge you, woman clad in blood-red robes. I hear that you are the only blood energy user in this family."
He pointed at Schleya, causing her to stand up and fly towards the battle stage. Only when she landed did she open her mouth.
"Indeed. I'm Schleya Vitalichor, twenty-fourth wife of the Divine Emperor of Death."
"I am Val'ren Bloodrain, and I possess the Blood Tempest Physique, will inherit the throne of the sovereign in a year. Let's see how you can fare against , an Empyreal Sovereign."
Everyone raised their brows in shock.
They didn't know Val'ren Bloodrain had reached such a level since he was known to be a Kingly Sovereign. Now he had revealed that he had beco an Empyreal Sovereign.
An Empyrean Sovereign from Lower Realms? That was incredibly rare.
The entourage from the Blood Tempest Lower Realm looked prideful. Not only were they proud of their bloodline, but there was also a person who not only awakened the physique but went further to strengthen his blood with Azure Dragon Blood Essence found in a secret realm.
He was unstoppable!
However, little did the others know, so they were waiting to see how this plays out in their favor.
Schleya summoned two curved blades using her blood energy. It was not Crescentblood. She didn't use it since they had beco Empyrean Grade Armants after absorbing blood from many corpses and carcasses. Regardless, she didn't think she needed it.
The blood aura she emitted was not flamboyant or overwhelming, but cold and oppressive, like blood that had long dried over blades.
Across from her, Val'ren Bloodrain stood tall and regal, crimson robes fluttering as his bloodline surged beneath his skin, flickers of dragon-shaped energy wisped out.
*Boom!~*
Without a word, the barrier rippled from their movent, and Val'ren Bloodrain was already in motion.
He dashed forward, his body blurring, leaving streaks of crimson behind. His fists were sheathed in noble blood energy, every strike elegant. His Blood Tempest Physique exuded a tempestuous nobility. Each move seed choreographed like a dance, laced with the might of a sovereign's control over the battlefield.
On the other hand, Schleya didn't waste ti with theatrics.
She stepped aside with uncanny precision, dodging his attacks while she repositioned her curved blades in her hands like fangs of a predator. A single swipe nearly cleaved open Val'ren Bloodrain's flank, but a tendril of his blood intercepted the strike, twirling it off course. Yet even that brief mont revealed her terrifying accuracy- she had aid for his liver within that minute, and their battle only got fierce.
The exchange turned fierce.
Val'ren Bloodrain's blood surged, forming noble weapons. Spears, halberds, even a draconic blood shield that growled with azure intensity. He pressed her back, creating majestic crimson domains that surged like a sea tide. The Blood Tempest Sovereign's aura clamped down, suppressing lesser bloodlines, even normal humans, as though it were the true emperor bloodline.
Even the audience was affected, feeling hostility toward him.
For a mont, he reigned supre.
Schleya was pushed to the edge of the stage, and the crowd began to believe in Val'ren's overwhelming advantage. His elegance, his power were all plain to be seen. He was indeed an Empyreal Sovereign, as he said, his prowess eight levels higher.
But then, Schleya Vitalichor didn't seem to lose either. She stood her own ground, albeit now cornered.
But suddenly, her eyes flashed, and her killing intent shifted.
As soon as he closed the distance, the way she brought down her weapons changed.
No longer simply deflecting and slicing with clinical precision, Schleya turned savage. Every movent of her blades beca rciless, her footwork honed for ambushes, misdirections, and critical strikes. She stopped retreating and tried to sever not just his limbs, but the montum of his battle rhythm.
*Rip!~*
A curved blade nicked his thigh. It was not fatal, but it clipped an artery. She had slipped beneath his guard, almost unnoticeably.
Clang! He deflected the blade, but it managed to scrape past his shoulder, leaving a thin wound that, oddly, wouldn't stop bleeding.
Val'ren Bloodrain frowned, faltering slightly.
His blood responded more slowly. His body trembled.
"This is...."
Instantly, he realized that this was different than Blood Laws, his gaze turning severe and his expression solemn.
Schleya's blood-curved blades glowed with a dark shimr, and now the truth beca clear. With every cut, every graze, her strange energy burrowed deeper into his body. They were not just physical wounds she inflicted on him. They carried invisible curses and illusions that assaulted his mind and internal flow. His blood began rejecting his commands. His ridians refused to accept energy. His nerves were being tricked. His aura began to flicker, unstable.
"Do you feel it?" Schleya finally spoke, voice calm yet darkly serene, "The helplessness when your body becos a stranger?"
"Urgh!"
Val'ren Bloodrain tried to summon a blood dragon spear using his energy. It ca out in an unsightly shape, but his hand jerked the wrong way, and the spear fell to the ground. His muscles spasd. His refined control and his noble elegance were nowhere to be seen.
Everyone was shocked. The battle seed to be already over?
"I-Impossible…" The Blood Tempest Sovereign Realm Master uttered with shock, "Blood attacks have the least effect on us. Even karmic attacks that work using blood as a dium to attack are less effective against us. What did you do!?"
He growled, standing up, trying to interrupt the battle.
However, many soul senses simultaneously locked onto him, the pressure intense. His heart sank, knowing that if he made a move, then the retaliation would be instantaneous and big.
Schleya walked forward without hesitation, blades raised, and with two swift arcs of bloody light, she cut Val'ren Bloodrain's upper body, leaving a huge bloody gash before stopping just before his throat. A line of blood ford, but she didn't go further.
"You are disard. And defeated."
Val'ren Bloodrain stumbled to his knees, his pride shattered more than his body.
Gasps and silence filled the venue before it erupted into roars and murmurs.
"Amazing…!"
"She defeated an Empyreal Sovereign!"
"Schleya Vitalichor… why did she even bother introducing herself like she was a nobody…? Terrifying…"
Schleya turned around, returning to the center of the stage as she dismissed her blades. Her gaze fell upon Davis for a mont, and she gave a slight nod and waited for two more opponents.
Val'ren Bloodrain was dragged away by his Grand Elders, trembling, still unable to speak clearly.
Schleya refused to explain what she had done, but the Realm Master ca to know gradually.
"Affliction Laws…"
Davis explained to Lea, "She has fused Blood Laws, Curse Laws, and Illusion Laws. It can inflict serious physical and ntal scars that cannot be healed unless one defeats the one who cursed the blood, which is Schleya, or she should retract her energy."
"Oh, it disallows control of their own body?"
"Yes. They could try to control it, but intense pain would wrack them and their perception would be struck with vertigo, making it so that they would not even be able to circulation their energy in the right direction, and that spells doom to anyone facing her in close quarters combat." Davis sucked in a cold breath.
"She could even beat if I got scratched. Of course, only if I couldn't purify the affliction she inflicted on ."
Lea also gasped, "So anyone who doesn't have a way to purify the affliction will fall?"
"Yes."
Davis nodded.
"Then… how is it any different from Bloodcurse Laws or Malediction Laws that Wicked Tar and Accursed Warlock use?"
"Well, these are all curses foremost, so they are terd as intrinsically bad. If Malediction is the evil cousin, then Bloodcurse would be the evil twin, and Affliction would be the neutral twin. If Affliction can be used to create pain and suffering and take away autonomy, then it can also be used to alleviate pain from all kinds of illnesses and even poison. In terms of morality, it is much better and enjoys a much better status than the two, but in terms of lethality, it is less limited, but in close quarters combat, it is incredibly lethal. Perhaps Malediction Laws are more deadly. I don't know since I haven't fully experienced it."
"I see."
Lea nodded.
Eventually, Schleya won against two more opponents and won an Empyrean Grade Treasure.
As for the eighth round, Davis wondered if he should call for an Immortal or Immortal King battle. For Immortal King, he already had soone in mind, turning to look at a fifteen-year-old teenager from the Alstreim Family. He had just beco an Immortal King, so his opponents might need to suppress their cultivation base.
