Davis was standing on the ground when his perception of danger blared like an alarm in his soul, causing him to quickly take action and jump into the skies as he tried to save the ones near him forcefully.
Once he swiped with his hand and dodged the unknown move that burst from underground and created a do before trapping the other cultivators, he could instantly tell that the attack was of spatial attribute. It shocked him to his core since his soul force that wrapped around the three cultivators failed to save their bodies in ti.
Instantly, he connected this to his previous speculations and flew even higher and controlled his energy to counterattack the mont he was pursued.
These two factors told him that once he was caught, it would be very difficult to free himself.
Then, the purple-black do receded into a male spirit fey, allowing him to finally see the item in that man’s hand, making his mind churn in turmoil. His sense of danger nearly eclipsed his curiosity in a bid to eliminate the foe quickly, but he managed to hold back the attack he had been preparing to launch.
One mont.
He figured a single millisecond was all this spirit fey needed to seal him in that ring once he attacked in a concealed manner from a close range. Even if he attacked from a distance, he figured that it would be easily noticed and dodged or blocked.
More than space, he was wary of its ti-attribute abilities that he had yet to see.
He could be quickly stopped and easily sealed. He was not about to beco prey to his way of dealing with his opponents. However, he didn’t know if it was truly what he considered it to be. He imagined that he could be wrong since it could be so kind of artifact that was unearthed here in so kind of inheritance legacy that was planted a long ti ago.
Although he theorized that people could beco half-denizens if they stayed here long enough, he had no idea what kind of rules would apply to inanimate objects. Perhaps a Divine Exalt or an Exalt managed to forge a Peak Empyrean Grade Treasure here?
He couldn’t tell.
Tumultuous emotions swept past Davis’s heart, but none of them were enough to shake his ability to make decisions. He quickly decided to probe.
"You an the gathering that’s going to take place in a few days?"
"...!?"
The spirit fey hurriedly jumped back and looked at Davis warily, and activated his ring as it pulsed with a silver-black light.
With him turning, Davis once again managed to get a good look at the item. He was increasingly more confident that his initial theories were right, and it could be the Space-Ti Quintessence Ring or its replica, since he could feel the quality of the spatial energy stemming from it couldn’t be compared.
Even Stella’s spatial powers paled in comparison before it.
’I want it...!’ Davis’s desire reached the apex.
He eyed the ring like he was a predator, his eyes wide and his gaze dangerous. He couldn’t understate how useful it would be for him if he were to obtain it.
Naturally, the spirit fey noticed this and felt a chill. He instantly hid the ring behind his body.
"Who are you?" The spirit fey grumbled as he took a vigilant stance.
He couldn’t believe the sense of danger his soul was experiencing right now. It was as though he was thrown into a cage full of beasts while he was just a child with no energy to defend himself. The aura of this human was the most frightening thing he had ever seen during the ti he spent here, almost causing him to trip and fall when he moved back.
Davis didn’t answer imdiately. His gaze was sharp and hungry like a hyena’s.
He threw the panicking souls into his life ring and forcefully lulled them to sleep as he threw them in an illusion where they are still in their hos and nothing happened to them. His figure descended lightly, trying to close the distance to not let the spirit fey escape, but also maintain a good enough distance where he wouldn’t get affected.
"You don’t know ?" Davis returned the question with a question.
His expression frowned, but his gaze beca more contemptuous as though he looked down on the spirit fey from the bottom of his heart.
The spirit fey’s lips curled with derision, "Whoever you are, you can forget about whatever plans you have for . I’m warning you. Stay away from ."
Davis basically confird that this spirit fey was from another galaxy and had not heard from him.
"I would’ve stayed away from you if you didn’t attack . You’re too dangerous to be kept alive."
"I could say the sa thing to you. If I rember correctly, they said that you were the Divine Emperor of Death. Sorry, that doesn’t ring any bells, but if you co any closer, know that you will be sealed just like them." The spirit fey scoffed.
His figure began to fade into a vortex that suddenly appeared behind him.
Davis watched him leave, his eyes vigilant like a hawk’s. He completely disappeared from his senses, making Davis release his soul sense to the fullest extent.
It instantly covered the entire island and even further, causing the spirit fey’s expression to churn.
’What the...!?’
He didn’t turn to look back, using his ring as he waved his hand.
A spatial gate appeared, and he instantly stepped into it, coming out hundreds and thousands of kiloters away. The spatial gate was like a solid black-silver gate, yet it was only a form of energy. The spatial gate then dispersed as the ring flickered.
"Who the hell was that?" He switched to a contemporary spirit language used in another galaxy to curse, unable to understand how he could et a terrifying human and be afraid even while he still possessed a supre treasure in his arsenal.
He gazed around, sensing that there was no one there, before he hid himself again using the ring. It flickered once before covering his figure and aura in a spatial layer that was thin yet dense, incorporeal, transparent, and formidable that even a stray attack or a shockwave wouldn’t be able to harm him the slightest.
’Fortunately, I knew that he couldn’t be ssed with. I think I sensed him in that High-Level Space-Attribute Shard Region when I wanted to teach that arrogant king-tier imperial dragon a lesson. Was he the source of the danger I sensed?’
He contemplated before looking inside the ring.
There was no surface, and the inside looked no different than that of a spatial ring. Yet-
Tens... hundreds... thousands of human realm’s supre geniuses were inside. Hundreds of beasts, even a few Grand Ancestral Magical Beasts, were present. All frozen in ti.
They couldn’t move. They couldn’t think. They couldn’t do anything.
They had no escape. Once caught and thrown inside, they were subjected to the power - Ti Stop!
However, for the first ti in his life, he looked at the ring with so doubt since it had never failed to capture a target before. The layers and layers of spatial energy stacked against each other had never let a foe escape.
He was sure he had caught everyone in it since he also released a Perception Delay ability which slowed down their brains, causing the reaction ti to beco slower. Hence, even if one wanted to escape, they needed to know that he was going to attack at least two seconds earlier.
He felt it was crazy that this so-called Divine Emperor of Death was able to dodge the Spatial Prison that was nearly invincible in close quarters.
Nonetheless, he wasn’t shaken. He quickly left the area, searching for a place to hide until the gathering took place. He figured he would be able to et the ones who escaped his grasp a while ago before also throwing the supre geniuses into the ring.
"Master will be very pleased."
He chuckled, looking for a place to hide amidst the fiery canyon, when his expression froze.
A ’Divine Emperor of Death’ descended in front of him, maintaining a range where he couldn’t escape using Spatial Concealnt nor attack him using Spatial Prison.
For the love of the universe, he couldn’t figure out how this person chased him all the way here when there was no chance that even his soul sense could’ve sensed him. He couldn’t help but shudder, feeling the hunger behind the Divine Emperor of Death’s gaze, but it only fueled him to growl in retaliation like a cornered tiger.
"What is your problem!? If you want to attack, co on! I’ll crush you, miserable human!"
He raised his hand, manipulating space. Layers and layers of spatial sheets stacked against each other like they were individual plains. It appeared above and below Davis when he suddenly turned into a black-golden vortex and rushed to the side, causing his attack to miss.
However, he saw that he had managed to crush the Divine Emperor of Death’s arm.
Davis was in flight to the side as he saw his crushed arm, but he didn’t bother, as his intentions were for it to be crushed, for him to take damage. He stretched his other hand and grabbed the karmic thread that he strengthened using the previous slight that the other party made against him, making it more corporeal.
It was what he used to follow this spirit fey. He hunted him down.
He grabbed their karmic thread of hostility and murmured: "Mirror Judgnt."
*Bang!~*
The spirit fey’s arm was equally crushed underneath an invisible weight. The ring flew as there was no finger for it to be worn on.
"You-"
The spirit fey went berserk, his eyes fully turning purple. The surroundings turned dark, and the ring flew back to him despite Davis’s soul force grabbing it. At that mont, Davis sensed his mind faltering from an invisible attack, and he quickly rushed back, gaining distance.
"You burned your soul essence to retain your connection with the ring?" Davis asked in a cold tone.
Inwardly, his heart dropped. There was a high chance that the ring would not accept him even if he were to steal it. After all, the ring forcefully broke the pull he had on it and returned to the spirit fey.
