Now reading: Chapter 4740 Set In Motion Years Ago? from Divine Emperor of Death, a Action novel by Stardustbreaker.

Abruptly, Davis recalled that he had noticed that the reason why Rioxys Plu's mother had left her in that Low-Level Darkness Attributed Shard Region could also be because of divination. He guessed her mother had divined that she would be saved by humans or soone, and so had left her there.

Rioxys Plu was also young. Since she was not a wild spirit, her parents should've also left no more than fifteen to twenty years ago. It also coincided with his own rise as the Divine Emperor of Death more than ten years ago, when he stepped into the true immortal world and assumable hastened the appearance of this secret realm.

'In other words, this fate was established back then. This fate connects us, or I- my family had stolen soone else's fate of saving and delivering Rioxys Plu back to her grandfather. Whose fate could it be…?'

Davis couldn't think of anyone. He wasn't the first to appear here since it was Isabella, Shirley, and the others who saved Rioxys Plu from the Nefarious Darkwill Rakshasa. None of them were Divergents, so he wondered if this fate belonged to their family, after all.

'Hmm… Bylai was the one who took care of Rioxys Plu later on, but it was Isabella who was leading the group. If she had said otherwise, they would leave Rioxys Plu there alone… Yes, so it is indeed Isabella's fate. After I entered the secret realm, I stole Isabella's fate and led Rioxys here. That is the source of danger that Tia detected… but now that I'm here, it could be back to square one… with Tia leading Isabella back right here…'

Davis held his head, feeling like his head was going to break with all these deductions; he didn't even know if it was true or false. He wasn't just thinking but trying to peer into fate by actively deciphering the events that happened in reality. Quickly, he stopped thinking, his forehead filled with beads of sweat.

He didn't arrive at an answer. However, his intuition was telling him that he was right. It couldn't be anything else, as he failed to see what led to this outco.

'In other words, I could be stuck here for a year more or forced to go on the other side…'

Davis looked in the opposite direction from the Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak. He didn't know what was there, but considering no spirit ventured after this place, he didn't think it was anything good.

"Besides, what?"

Seeing him go silent and look towards further north while ruminating with a pained expression on his face, Lady Thunderwraith asked.

Davis didn't respond.

He was silent for a few more seconds, nearly half a minute, before he gazed at her.

"Never mind. I'll get my Calamity, and we'll hole up for a while in the verdant grounds of the plant lifeform. I think I got an idea. Just play along with …"

"Your Calamity…?" Lady Thunderwraith couldn't understand.

Davis headed west a bit and then chanced upon his slumbering Eternal Eclipse Bird. His heart pained a bit to see it missing its wings and a quarter of its head. Lying beside it was a dead Void Calamity that appeared to be poisoned to death as it lay in a pool of blood. The Lunar Shadow Bleeding Sickness wasn't to be underestimated when it was nightti and the moons were up.

This Void Calamity was not only weaker than the Eternal Eclipse Bird in terms of cultivation, but also went as far as to eat the poisonous flesh of the bird. It thought the Eternal Eclipse Bird was an easy target because it was no longer moving, but in truth was thoroughly asking for death.

"Krra~"

Suddenly, the Eternal Eclipse Bird echoed in a low voice.

"You're still alive…!"

Davis's heart jumped in surprise. Of course, it was dead. It was an undead, but its Ghost Will seems to have survived even after being abandoned by him. He nearly got emotional as he slid down the slope of the mountain and instantly threw it into the Temporal Voidplane Ring to freeze ti for it so he could later save it.

Then, without looking back or plundering that dead Void Calamity's core, he directly shot back into the ghostly yin region and arrived before Lady Thunderwraith.

She was shocked, having never seen soone care for a Realm Calamity.

Sohow, the more she learned about this Anarchic Divergent, the more she couldn't understand him. Who in their right mind would even keep a Calamity as a pet?

Even Archon Zaratu only managed to co to a consensus with the Blood Realm Calamity after it gained sentience, and even then, it wasn't really allowed to grow into an Exalt Stage Calamity! After all, even she saw how dangerous it was. If it really managed to beco an Exalt and hide itself, it was practically over for the Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak in the next few million years.

Even while it was sealed in this space, it had planned to beco a True Deity in one fell swoop.

Nonetheless, they quickly got back to the area where the plant lifeform was located.

The True Deity aura here wouldn't let any wild beasts like the Calamities or anything else dare get closer, and Davis had a Celestial Spirit Archon's words backing him. He was given ti to recover.

It was true that he was injured by True Deity-level strength, technically, a laugh, but it didn't injure him to a critical level. The plant-blood armor had protected him and had shattered, so it wasn't to a level where he was feeling unbearable pain or felt weak, but it definitely was an untreatable injury.

He could only try to heal it using Fallen Heaven after returning ho or, at the very least, the Shard Regions. He couldn't do it here in the Shard Continent or would invite trouble since he didn't believe Rioxys Plu's grandfather really was fooled by the Malevolent Flesh Erasure Fan.

He guessed the other party didn't want to probe deeper because of his granddaughter.

It could also be that he was waiting for him to die from the Realm Calamities roaming around, so he could appear later and loot the thing that made him feel a sense of unease.

'Perhaps that's why he gave the True Deity Grade Fruit. It is essentially a bait to get killed…' Davis inwardly sneered.

If he were also at their level, he could play this ga, but as an ant, he could only move like an ant and fight like a worm, squirming his way to beco a dragon.

Returning to the verdant grounds, Davis cleared a place in preparation to bring out the person who was going to die within a second.

Davis heaved a breath. He still hadn't gotten any rest, so he was tired. Regardless, first things were first.

"Are you ready?" He asked Lady Thunderwraith.

"Mhn. I am ready." The wraith responded in a bland tone.

Yet, her arms her up and her palms faced against empty air as she said, "I owe this to her."

She recalled being protected by Fairy Thunderblaze's trump cards as they marched through the bloody lair. She couldn't have survived alone.

Davis didn't say anything and stared at her, "How many secrets about and my family did you hear?"

"…" Lady Thunderwraith suddenly went still.
