Davis dispersed the scythe he conjured using his death energy soul force and clapped his hands together, summoning his reincarnation wheel.
"Ridiculous! A miniature reincarnation cycle wheel! Let study it!"
The Sky Word Emperor appeared extrely interested as he quickly scribbled on the sky as if it were a canvas. Space churned, and more runes sprang out, surrounding Davis in the shape of pillars.
They tried to restrict him to one place, but Davis forcefully broke through again without breaking a sweat.
*Bang!~* The runic pillars shattered.
"Elder, but you're already dead, aren't you? What's the point?"
"Ugh, right…"
The Sky Word Emperor looked taken aback before harrumphing, "What do you know? It is possible for to revive, but I'm simply choosing not to, because I will end up becoming an Anarchic Divergent."
Davis's eyes glead, "State of Divine Possession?"
"Indeed." The Sky Word Emperor's expression turned solemn. "It is extraordinary for you to have comprehended Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws at this state unless you're an old monster who revived. However, you're not bad if you could realize this without exploring this stage. It should be possible for to break away from Heaven's Will and escape, but in the end, I'll et the sa fate as any Divergent-"
"- which is to be killed."
The Sky Word Emperor slashed with his paintbrush like he was using a sword. The strike turned into a singular rune filled with incredible power.
[REND]
"Amazing!" Davis exclaid.
He stopped, reached out his hand, and captured the otherworldly glowing [REND] in his hand. With a clench, he crushed it within his palm, chaos energy reverberating and causing a great rumbling that crushed everything within.
When he looked back at his palm, there was only a minor wound that made him bleed a bit before it quickly closed up as a wisp of life energy healed him.
He spread his hands, looking a bit greedy, "How about this? If you have any requests, I will fulfill them for you. In return, when you die, use State of Divine Possession and etch your life's knowledge of Enigmatic Heart Laws' techniques and comprehension in your heavenly factor strands. I can refine them and try my luck in understanding them. This way, it won't beco that you directly handed it to ."
*Whoosh!~*
Davis disappeared from his location.
A darkness rune and a water rune appeared, making a darkness-water sphere that intended to seal and suck his cultivation away.
"So slippery…" The Sky Word Emperor's eyes squinted as he looked around and saw Davis erging out of the void, "Your spatial prowess is also unmatched. For you to have comprehended so many Laws to this degree and possess never-before-seen prowess, no wonder you invited a new kind of tribulation that even I have no idea about."
"Elder, please teach !" Davis cupped his hands.
Inwardly, he gave himself twenty more seconds before he decided to cleave the Sky Word Emperor in two.
This opportunity was too good to be let go of.
"Why are you so sincere? For a Divergent, you are so unlikeable!"
The Sky Word Emperor scolded him, "Take one of my finest moves. If you can withstand it, I'll think about it."
"Ugh…" Davis's lips parted, "I'm confident that I could take it, but make it quick. We can't afford to waste ti."
"You an you can't? My intention would be to definitely stall for ti until the Venerable Knights appear if I can't defeat you."
"Elder. Spare this junior." Davis chuckled, "I'll owe you one."
"Shaless!"
The Sky Word Emperor's teasing smile faded.
For the first ti since his manifestation, the heavens above him seed to be quiet.
He raised his paintbrush slowly, not with flourish, but with reverence, as though acknowledging an old enemy rather than a junior. The brush hovered before him, its bristles trembling, shedding faint motes of gray-white light that neither belonged to life nor death.
"Then watch carefully, young lad," he said softly, "This is not a rune ant to kill… but one ant to end cycles."
Thousands upon thousands of microscopic runes began to manifest, each one different, each one ancient. They did not roar or blaze but settled quietly, layering upon one another like sedint across epochs.
Yin runes intertwined with yang runes, life-negating runes folded into death-negating scripts. Temporal sigils wrapped around spatial locks. They fused together, erging as a strange negative-white rune that didn't seem to be limited by distance.
It was colossal but shrunk, moving towards Davis.
Davis felt his breath shorten rely by observing it. He felt this rune was specifically made to counter his reincarnation soul. Whether it would kill him was unknown, but he could tell it would cause extre damage.
The rune appeared in front of him, and ti seed to simply stop for him as he froze.
Davis felt the effects at that mont.
His energy paused moving. His reincarnation energy stalled as though caught in a cog in the wheel. The reincarnation wheel behind him evidently slowed down spinning, its runes shuddering as though they were about to break.
The desolate rune sank into Davis's forehead.
"This rune," The Sky Word Emperor's voice echoed faintly, "… is an amalgamation of eighty three thousand and nine hundred and eighteen runes. It negates death by balancing yin and negates life by balancing yang. It does not erase life nor does it extinguish death. It forces you into stillness, especially with the spaceti anchoring scripture. Furthermore, with my Will as the axis and the Heart Intent, it is unbreakable."
A brief mont of silence echoed before he spoke again, "I impose eternal stillness upon your reincarnation soul itself. Once you are sealed, this will be over."
"Is that so?"
Imdiately ca a reply, causing the Sky Word Emperor to blink.
At this mont, he felt a pair of pitch-black eyes envelop him, making him shudder ever so lightly.
'This is…'
The Sky Word Emperor's expression went shocked as he felt a familiar aura, 'The Being of Original Sin!?'
*Crack!~*
He could only hear his own Will crack under the pressure of the opposing Will. It was the backlash from the desolate rune breaking.
Davis opened his eyes before an even more confident expression appeared on his face that made one want to punch his face.
"Hehe, I won against the Sky Word Emperor in a semi-battle of Wills."
"…" The Sky Word Emperor stared at Davis with a complicated expression on his face, 'No, that can't be right. His Will shows no signs of corruption from that entity, but he possesses its aura. It is similar, but not. What's going on here?'
Suddenly, he flinched.
He looked down to notice that he was cleaved in two, his heavenly avatar shattering as reincarnation energy flooded him.
Davis arrived beside him and patted his shoulder, "Elder, I'll see you in my next tribulation. Take care."
The Sky Word Emperor's lips twitched, "Be careful. You need to learn to suppress the invisible mountain inside you, or else, I fear an even more calamitous entity will be released into the myriad of realms."
Davis's smile faded, replaced with solemness, "I know. That's why I still ask you to leave your knowledge behind to help suppress whatever it is, Elder. I, the Divine Emperor of Death, an no harm to our universe. I'm just another cultivator fighting against my enemies, striving to grow stronger so I can defend my dignity and live safely."
"…"
The Sky Word Emperor slowly shattered as he stared at Davis before turning into wisps of heavenly factors under the suppression and refinent of life energy.
