Or, he needed her to undergo her Exalt Tribulation under strenuous circumstances of possessing imnse karmic burden.
Davis was willing to share nearly all secrets he knew to allow Zephya to bear such karmic burden and make her attract a Desolate Heavenly Tribulation, even possibly cause her to beco a Desolate Divergent like himself. After all, she was already an Anarchic Divergent, and so was Fiora.

However, letting them face the Celestial Transcendent, the Sky Word Emperor, and the Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor, he wasn't sure of this plan. Moreover, due to different racial traits, Zephya might face soone else entirely.

This will evidently make her a mutated Celestial Spirit, but regardless, he needed her to beco this, or his Essence Gathering Cultivation would stagnate, never to achieve complete unity and coherence and remain unstable, becoming a liability rather than an asset.
Then he would have to discard it and use the Grand Chaos Body Art's modified version to practice the Essence Gathering Cultivation as Little Quentin does. But because the Empyrean Vessel had already unified the Essence Gathering Cultivation and Body Tempering Cultivation, there were two possibilities.
He needed to either start from the scratch regarding the essence and body or just puncture the lower dantian, cause energy to leak away slowly in a controlled environnt, cleanse the ridians and temper it from scratch using chaos-attributed resources while removing anything of heavenly annihilative nature and then seamlessly replace the inner world with the Grand Chaos Body Art's modified version since he had already practiced the Grand Chaos Body Art.
But how could he even think of abandoning his Essence Gathering Cultivation after suffering so much for it, even getting his body blown multiple tis and causing trauma to a few of his wives?
He had co too far for this to be abandoned like this, so he had no choice but to rely on Zephya, even prepared to beg her if she wasn't willing, but she had always been willing, so it didn't make sense for him to abandon his Essence Gathering Cultivation.
Everything considered, he would have to slowly improve his Essence Gathering Cultivation rather than make haste, so he decided to delay absorbing desolate heavenly lightning.
As for the possible techniques of Enigmatic Heart Laws stored in the desolate heavenly lightning and desolate heavenly spaceti he refined from the Sky Word Emperor's remnants, he didn't know if they existed or not. He needed to absorb it first to know. He was being careful too, since it was possible that the Sky Word Emperor could have also left a literal rune bomb in the remnant desolate heavenly factors. He might've been carefree, but his loyalty and faith towards the current universe were undying and unquestionable. Otherwise, he wouldn't have sacrificed himself, much less not make an effort to revive himself using the State of Divine Possession.
If he were the Sky Word Emperor, he would also do everything to prevent a desolate calamity like him from rising, much less gift techniques.
Nonetheless, thanks to the yin from Natalya, he was only a thin line away from breaking through to the Level Two Empyrean Stage.

This made Davis re-understand a certain principle. Being indecisive wasn't necessarily a bad thing.

If Lydia had been decisive, she wouldn't have gotten the life she wished for and loved.
Davis nodded repeatedly in understanding as he made his way towards Aila, who wasn't there with Lydia, but suddenly paused mid-air, noticing Lydia make her way towards Zenova's newly built mansion.
'Eh… why Zenova? She has just beco my wife. There's no need for Lydia to go earn her approval this soon, considering Zenova still needs to earn approval from every one of her sisters…'
Davis's brows twitched. Although Zenova had managed to earn approval due to her supporting Natalya, it wasn't like they had forgotten her previous actions. It only made them see her in a different, approving light, and they haven't fully accepted her yet since they needed to get to know her first.
He moved forward but in another direction.
He was worried Zenova would act harshly since she wasn't the type to have a reincarnator amidst her family and couldn't help but glide in their direction to stop anything untoward from happening.
