The driver of the black Highlander saw Lu Qing's car make a U-turn in his rearview mirror. He quickly said to the people in the back seat, "Boss, there's a car behind us. It just made a U-turn from the opposite lane. You don't think it's coming for us, do you?"
The two people in the back seat turned around in unison. They glanced through the rear window at the red Bora accelerating toward them, and their expressions changed.
Little Moustache, seated behind the driver, imdiately ordered, "Speed up! Shake them!"
"Yes, sir!" the driver replied, slamming on the gas. The engine roared as the car shot forward.
This guilty behavior imdiately confird for Lu Qing and the other officers that the people in the black Highlander were definitely up to sothing.
"Hold on tight!" Lu Qing warned, also slamming on the gas to give chase.
"Land Group, should we contact our sister units and have them set up a roadblock ahead?" the officer in the passenger seat asked.
"No need." Lu Qing shook her head. "It's rush hour right now. The traffic is terrible; they definitely won't get away. Contact the team and tell them to hurry over with backup!"
"Yes, ma'am!" the officer replied, quickly pulling out his phone to call his colleagues.
Lu Qing's judgnt was spot on. The black Highlander had just picked up speed when it was forced to stop. The light at the intersection was red, and the cars ahead were all stationary. Little Moustache and his n were driving a Highlander, not a tank; they couldn't just plow through everything like in the movies. Doing that would only have one outco: they would crash and injure themselves. They couldn't change lanes either; they were completely boxed in by cars on both sides.
"Boss, what do we do?" The n in the black Highlander panicked. 'Getting caught because of a traffic jam would be too embarrassing!'
"Abandon the car! Split up and run!" Little Moustache pushed open his door and bolted. The other three n in the car also abandoned it and started running at the first opportunity.
"Go!" Lu Qing imdiately jumped out of the car, chasing after Little Moustache and the man with him. At the sa ti, the other two officers from the passenger and back seats also got out, pursuing the two suspects fleeing on the other side.
"Brother Fang, you stay in the car!" Zhao Yuan yelled at the clearly stunned Fang Yi, then pushed the door open and got out.
"What are you doing?" Fang Yi asked in surprise.
"Going to help!" Zhao Yuan replied, taking off after Lu Qing in long strides.
Fang Yi was startled and hurriedly shouted, "What? Co back! Get back here! These drug dealers are ruthless bastards! They might even have guns! Don't be a reckless hero!"
Unfortunately, Zhao Yuan didn't listen. Instead, he sped up his pursuit.
The group weaved quickly through the flow of traffic, drawing a volley of curses.
Little Moustache, having crossed the road and run onto the sidewalk, glanced back at the relentlessly pursuing Lu Qing. A vicious glint flashed in his eyes as he suddenly reached into his clothes, pulled out a handgun, and pulled the trigger at Lu Qing.
BANG!
The gunshot rang out, and many people nearby scread in fright.
Lu Qing's body visibly shuddered, and a splash of blood appeared. But her pursuit didn't falter; instead, she instantly sped up.
"Shit!" Little Moustache hadn't expected Lu Qing to keep chasing them even after being shot. The viciousness in his face intensified as he ground out through clenched teeth, "You're asking for it, so don't bla !" He was about to pull the trigger again to finish off the relentless Lu Qing.
Zhao Yuan sharply sensed Little Moustache's killing intent. He quickly pulled a freshly drawn Enchanting Talisman from his pocket—one he'd made in the last few days—and imdiately activated it.
BANG!
Another gunshot rang out.
This shot, however, did not hit Lu Qing. The instant Little Moustache pulled the trigger, he was bewildered by the Enchanting Talisman. His gun suddenly turned and pointed at his own companion. As a result, the bullet hit his partner's calf, causing the burly driver to let out a pained scream. His body tilted, and he nearly fell.
"Boss, why'd you shoot ?!" the driver shrieked, both confused and feeling wronged.
Not only did Little Moustache not answer him, but he also seed to have gone stupid. He stopped running and just stood there blankly. Lu Qing caught up and tackled him to the ground in one go. The gun in his hand CLATTERED to the ground, and by a stroke of bad luck—or good—it rolled right to the driver's feet.
The driver reacted extrely quickly, imdiately bending down to pick up the gun.
The gun was in his hand, but before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, a figure dashed to his side. He frantically tried to aim and shoot, but his opponent gave him no such chance. A foot stomped viciously on his wrist, the imnse force instantly shattering the bone. Naturally, he couldn't hold the gun. It fell to the ground, where the other person snatched it up and pressed it to his head.
The driver didn't dare to struggle. Gasping for breath, he stared at the person who had subdued him, unable to believe that he, a veteran of the streets, had been taken down by a re student.
"Get up!" Zhao Yuan held the gun in one hand and grabbed the driver's collar with the other. He forcefully dragged the man to his feet and hauled him over to Lu Qing's side.
Lu Qing quickly took out her handcuffs and cuffed both Little Moustache and the driver to a tal bicycle rack on the sidewalk. At the sa ti, the other two officers successfully apprehended the other two fleeing robbers, cuffing them to a bike rack as well. One officer stayed to watch them while the other hurried across the street.
The officer had originally thought Lu Qing would be in great danger facing two drug dealers alone—it had never crossed his mind that Zhao Yuan could be of any help. It was only when he got closer and saw the dealers had been captured that he breathed a sigh of relief. Then, he noticed Lu Qing's face was deathly pale and hurriedly asked, "Land Group, are you okay?"
Lu Qing forced a smile and was about to reply when her vision suddenly went black. Her body swayed, and she collapsed to the ground with a THUD. It was only then that everyone saw her abdon was already soaked in blood.
"Land Group!" The officer's eyes instantly reddened, and he rushed forward.
"Don't move her carelessly! Lay her flat," Zhao Yuan said, running to Lu Qing's side. He and the officer carefully lowered Lu Qing so she was lying flat on her back on the ground.
Zhao Yuan ripped open Lu Qing's clothes, exposing the gunshot wound. At the sa ti, he infused Wish Power into his eyes and activated his Qi Observation Technique.
One look, and Zhao Yuan's expression changed dramatically.
A mass of Evil Qi was circulating near Lu Qing's spleen. Without a doubt, this Evil Qi must be the bullet lodged inside her. At its current position, it could damage the spleen at any mont. The spleen is a vital organ; if it were damaged, it would cause massive hemorrhaging and endanger Lu Qing's life!
'This bullet has to co out imdiately! And I have to control the bleeding from the wound!'
Taking a deep breath, Zhao Yuan turned his head and ordered the officer, "Call an ambulance! And go to a nearby clinic to see if they have any hemostatic drugs or surgical tools!"
