Two people sat in the living room, neither one speaking.
Tristan Grayson’s eyes never left his phone.
anwhile, Mika Sumrs’s eyes never moved away from Tristan Grayson.
Mika Sumrs was struggling internally. She kept warning herself, ’Don’t look at Tristan Grayson anymore. Stop looking at him.’
But she just couldn’t control herself. Her eyes would drift to him unconsciously.
’If I have to stay with Tristan Grayson any longer, I won’t be able to take it. I’ll go crazy.’
Although Tristan Grayson was on his phone, he could feel an intense gaze fixed on him.
He wanted to warn her, but they had already agreed not to speak to each other. So, he just endured it.
’It’s not worth getting angry with a woman like her. I have to calm down. I absolutely can’t fall for her tricks.’
The two of them continued like this for more than two hours before it finally ended.
It ended because Tristan Grayson’s phone died.
He casually tossed his phone onto the coffee table, turned over on the sofa, and prepared to sleep.
Seeing Tristan was about to sleep, Mika Sumrs frowned. She got up, went to the guest room, and brought out a light blanket.
She didn’t say a word, simply placing it on the sofa beside him before returning to her room.
Only after hearing the door click shut did Tristan Grayson open his eyes. He sat up and looked at the light blanket on the sofa, a mocking smile playing on his lips. ’This woman is so calculating. How did I never realize what kind of person she was before?’
「The next day」
Tristan Grayson left at five in the morning.
Mika Sumrs woke up right after Tristan left.
She stood by the window, watching the sports car drive off into the distance, and her eyes began to sting.
They had been married for three years and never once lived in the sa house. Yet, after their divorce, they had now stayed in the sa house twice.
And for the next seven days, they would continue to live together.
’How ridiculous.’
「At the entrance of LK Company.」
Tristan Grayson was dressed in a gray tracksuit, a baseball cap, and sunglasses.
The mont he stepped out of the car, his assistant, Henry Archer, rushed over. "Boss, you’re finally at the office!"
"Get to the point." As he spoke, Tristan Grayson glanced around. Seeing no one, he walked quickly toward the company entrance.
Henry Archer jogged to keep up, saying urgently, "Because of your scandal, Boss, the company’s phone lines are ringing off the hook, and the stock market has taken a nosedive."
"I already explained it yesterday." They hadn’t captured a clear shot of his face at the hospital, so he’d explained that he wasn’t cheating, but rather accompanying his girlfriend to an appointnt.
’Since I’ve already given the necessary explanation, whatever they want to write or think is their own business.’
"You explained it, yes, but there are still reporters who don’t believe you, and the fans are skeptical too. Even the old chairman called this morning."
"What did he call for?"
"The old chairman wants you to hold a press conference today and admit that you’re married!"
"Impossible!" ’I already compromised once on the marriage. This ti, I won’t give in, no matter what.’
Henry Archer steeled himself and decided to just say it, bracing for the consequences. "The old chairman also said that if you can’t handle the situation with Miss Maggie Monroe perfectly, he’ll step in and handle it himself."
"Heh..." Tristan Grayson let out a cold laugh and turned to glare angrily at Henry Archer. "Tell him that if anything happens to Maggie, I can’t guarantee that a certain other woman won’t have an ’accident’ as well."
"Yes, sir." Henry Archer wiped at the cold sweat on his brow and quickly replied.
’This is terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.’
