The sudden sound of a woman’s voice on the other end of the line made Mika Sumrs freeze.
The emotions churning inside her were so overwhelming that she couldn’t support her own weight. If she hadn’t been sitting on the bed, she was sure she would have collapsed onto the floor.

Tristan Grayson held Maggie Monroe and comforted her for a long, long ti before she finally stopped crying and drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
He sighed and sat down on a nearby stool.
Suddenly rembering sothing, he checked his phone, only to find that the call had ended long ago.
’That woman... she must have heard, right?’
’Well, so what if she heard? I wasn’t planning on hiding it from her anyway. The sooner she knows, the sooner she can get rid of any inappropriate ideas she might have.’
With that, he called Henry Archer and instructed him to handle the paperwork as soon as possible. He wanted to transfer a portion of his assets to Mika Sumrs’s na ahead of schedule.
’After all, he was the one who had wronged her. He wouldn’t short-change her, at least.’
Maggie Monroe, her back to Tristan Grayson, was pretending to be asleep with her eyes closed, but a tear escaped from the corner of her eye. Her mind was replaying his words: "I’m not worried about you, I’m worried about our child."
