Now that Tristan and that woman had a child, how could she ever keep his heart?
Many tis, she wondered why soone like her didn’t just die. But it was Tristan who gave her the will to live. After that, she survived each and every day because he was there; it was only because of him that she made it off the operating table ti and ti again.
She told herself that she had to live. She had to beco the woman by Tristan’s side. She had to marry Tristan Grayson properly, for all the world to see.
But now, even though her surgery had been a success, it seed Tristan was planning to abandon her...
’He’s so cruel. Why couldn’t he have just waited until I was dead to be with that woman? That way, even if he betrayed , I wouldn’t have known!’
Just then, Lily Shaw walked into the hospital room carrying so fruit. When she saw the woman standing by the window in a daze, she froze for a second before forcing a smile. "Maggie, why are you out of bed?"
At the sound of her voice, Maggie Monroe snapped out of her thoughts. She crossed her arms and turned around. Her expression was one of impatience and cold indifference when she saw Lily Shaw. "Why are you here? Where’s Tristan?" ’Even though I know Tristan sent her, I just don’t want to see her.’
"Tristan asked to co and keep you company," Lily Shaw said with a smile, placing the fruit on the table.
Maggie Monroe walked to the bed, pulled back the covers, and climbed in, but her tone hadn’t softened one bit. "How many tis do I have to tell you? I don’t need you here. If anyone’s going to keep company, it should be Tristan."
"I’m sorry, Maggie. Tristan is very busy. He doesn’t have ti to co see you." ’Fucking hell, does she really think I want to be here? I’m just her free-of-charge nanny every ti I co over.’ But Lily Shaw didn’t dare say that out loud. If she did, who knew how Tristan would make her pay for it in private.
Lily Shaw’s words made Maggie Monroe’s expression darken. "Lily Shaw, does this an even you get to look down on now?" As she spoke, her eyes filled with indignant tears.
"That’s not it at all, Maggie! I don’t look down on you," Lily Shaw blurted out, flustered, when she saw Maggie start to cry.
"No? You don’t? Lily Shaw, do you just see as Tristan’s little mistress, unworthy of your respect?" The more Maggie spoke, the harder she cried.
"Maggie, I really didn’t an that," Lily Shaw insisted, both flustered and angry. ’When did I ever say that? This is news to !’
"But Lily, don’t you understand? Tristan and I are the ones who are truly in love! We t first! That other woman is the howrecker here!" Maggie Monroe had beco too agitated. After she finished shouting, a loud RINGING filled her head, and her vision began to go black.
And then, hearing nothing, she passed out.
Staring at the unconscious Maggie Monroe, Lily Shaw was completely dumbfounded. ’Did I co here just to be tortured? We exchanged, what, two fucking sentences and she passes out? If she actually dies, doesn’t that make an indirect murderer?!’
She turned and ran out to get a doctor, then called Tristan to grovel for forgiveness.
「LK Company, CEO’s Office.」
Tristan Grayson and Ian Shaw had just sat down to discuss business when Lily’s call ca through.
Upon hearing that Maggie Monroe had fainted and was now in ergency care, Tristan Grayson put down his teacup and stood up.
"What’s wrong?" Seeing Tristan Grayson’s reaction, Ian Shaw raised a hand to adjust his slightly-too-tight necktie, his voice low.
Tristan Grayson unhurriedly picked up his jacket from the back of his chair, glancing at Ian Shaw with cold eyes. "Look at the ss your sister made. She angered Maggie into a dead faint."
