Mika Sumrs nodded and got into the car with Silas Kent.
Once inside, Mika Sumrs deliberately put so distance between herself and Silas Kent. She turned to gaze out the window, a complicated look in her eyes, and fell silent.
Silas Kent noticed but chose not to say anything.
They didn’t return to Southill Villa, instead driving directly to Sovereign Pictures Group.
The car ca to a stop. Jane Warren, the assistant in the passenger seat, got out first, then walked around to open the rear door for them.
Silas Kent, however, was in no hurry to exit. He first took a mont to fasten his cufflinks before slowly stepping out of the car. Once outside, he offered a slight smile, bent down, and extended a hand to help Mika Sumrs out.
Mika Sumrs had already shed the complicated, pained expression from before. Now, she was the picture of confidence, cool beauty, and aloofness. Her lips curved as she placed her hand in Silas Kent’s and stepped out of the car. Her gaze fell upon the employees standing in neat rows outside the company entrance, and she glanced at Silas Kent, her eyes asking what this was all about.
Silas Kent frowned, displeased, and gestured for her to take his arm.
Mika Sumrs looped her arm through his and asked in a low voice, "Silas Kent, is this your big surprise?"
"Of course not. There’s an even bigger surprise waiting for you. Co on, let show you the office."
「Inside the president’s office at Sovereign Pictures Group.」
Silas Kent raised his hand, signaling for Jessica Archer to begin.
Jessica Archer took a stack of docunts from her bag and placed them on the desk. She glanced at Mika Sumrs and said, "These are all the materials for Sovereign Group. Please look them over, Miss Sumrs."
Mika Sumrs nodded, picked up the docunts, and after flipping through just a few pages, she looked up. "You acquired LK Group?"
"Mm-hm. As of now, Sovereign is the largest entertainnt group in the country. However, from this mont forward, Sovereign Group is yours." As he spoke, Silas Kent singled out a share transfer agreent from the pile of docunts.
"Silas Kent, what are you doing? I can’t accept this."
"Why can’t you? You’ve been with for two years. I’ve seen all your hard work in that ti, and I know exactly what you’re capable of. So, Mika, you can’t turn this down. It will displease ." As he spoke, Silas Kent reached up to caress Mika Sumrs’s face, his eyes filled with tenderness.
Mika Sumrs slapped his hand away and said in a cold voice, "Fine. I’ll accept it."
"Mika, you know my intentions. I hope you don’t disappoint ." Silas Kent seed accustod to her rejections, showing no sign of embarrassnt. A faint smile remained on his lips.
Mika Sumrs didn’t answer him right away. She paused for a few seconds, then looked at Silas Kent with cold eyes and said mockingly, "Silas Kent, if you actually trusted , you wouldn’t have said that."
Her remark left Silas Kent speechless. Perhaps from the mont she had proposed returning to the country, he had begun to distrust her and had also beco afraid of losing her...
Mika Sumrs gave a self-mocking laugh. She walked behind the desk, pulled out the chair, and sat down. Then, she looked up at the stunned Jessica Archer. "Jessica Archer, bring the personnel files for everyone in the company. Now."
"Yes."
Seeing Mika Sumrs imdiately get into work mode, Silas Kent pushed aside his earlier worries. He walked up behind her and said in a placating tone, "I swear, I, Silas Kent, absolutely trust you."
"It’s no use. Judging by your expression just now, you, Silas Kent, absolutely do not trust ."
