"Fine. You’re crazy, and I can’t control you. But I can call your parents and have them co see what a ss you’ve beco. You’re an absolute disgrace to them." Cassian Jennings was truly infuriated by her this ti.
He had let the previous incident slide, chalking it up to Alia Avery’s youth and immaturity. But now that she had dared to hit Gia, he saw no reason to keep indulging her or letting her run wild.
"Don’t call them!" Seeing Cassian pick up his phone to call her parents, Alia instantly lost all her nerve and scrambled to snatch the phone away.
Cassian had anticipated her fear. He held the phone high out of her reach. "Heh... If you don’t want to call, fine. Get out of here right now!"
"Cassian, you’re going too far! How dare you treat like this for a woman like her!" Tears instantly stread down Alia’s face. ’Why is he doing this to ? Why? What’s so wrong with ?’
"What kind of woman is she? Alia, don’t think so highly of yourself." Seeing her cry, Cassian felt a pang of sympathy, but he still spoke the cruelest words.
’He had promised Aiden Avery he would make his sister give up for good. He couldn’t go soft now. Besides, he had only ever seen Alia as a little sister.’
"Cassian..." Being berated by Cassian in front of so many people, Alia felt an overwhelming sense of grievance. ’No one had ever treated her like this in her entire life.’
She squatted on the floor, wrapped her arms around herself, and began to sob her heart out.
Mika Sumrs watched the small, slender, and lovely girl squatting on the floor, crying so heartbrokenly, and her own heart ached in sympathy.
’She had been about the sa age when she fell for Tristan Grayson. Back then, Tristan was just a heartthrob on the screen whom she didn’t know personally. Her fangirling had been intense, bordering on obsessive.
To feel closer to her idol, she would watch every TV show and movie he was in over and over again, until she knew the lines by heart and could recite them with her eyes closed.
To feel closer to her idol, she would obsessively watch his comrcials all day long, hug his posters while grinning foolishly for hours, and lie awake all night.
But now, her own dream had been shattered. Just like the young girl before her, she was experiencing the sa agonizing heartbreak.’
Lost in these thoughts and observations, she began to cry as well.
She stood up, walked over to the young girl, and gently patted her back. "It’s okay," she comforted in a hoarse voice, "don’t cry anymore."
Tristan Grayson had looked up when she stood. Now, seeing her go to comfort Alia Avery, his brows furrowed slightly in confusion.
When Alia Avery heard a woman’s voice comforting her, her first thought was of that bitch, Gia Miller.
After all, besides Gia Miller, everyone else here was a man.
Furious, she looked up, about to retort, "Mind your own business." But when she saw the woman in front of her, her eyes widened in shock. After a long mont, she choked out, "You’re Tiana’s sister-in-law?"
"Mm, yes." Mika was a little stunned to hear Tiana’s na, but she quickly smiled and nodded.
Upon receiving confirmation, Alia’s tears started flowing again. She threw herself into Mika’s arms and sobbed, "Sister-in-law... take away from here..."
"Okay." No one understood what Alia was feeling in that mont better than Mika did. She, too, choked back a sob as she agreed.
