’What’s so great about Tristan Grayson? Besides torturing you and humiliating you, what is there about him worth liking, worth loving...’
Tiana had always been observant, so when she saw that her sister-in-law’s eyes were red, she asked in alarm, "Sister-in-law, why are you crying?"
"It’s nothing. I just got so sand in my eye," she replied, forcing a casual smile.
’Sand in her eye? Where would sand co from in here?’ Tiana clearly didn’t believe her, but she was sensible enough to just sit down beside her sister-in-law. She didn’t press for the reason, simply watching her quietly.
In truth, she could tell her sister-in-law had sothing on her mind. Being with her felt just like being with Alia. Alia was always like that—whenever Tiana said sothing careless, she would get red-eyed, lower her head, and fall silent.
The more they acted like this, the more curious she beca. ’What does it really feel like to be in love with soone?’
...
A short while later, the sound of n arguing erupted from outside. From the sound of it, they were a group of older n.
Tiana, a little scared, huddled closer to her, but her words were ant to be comforting. "Sister-in-law, don’t be afraid. They’re just arguing over the inheritance Grandma left behind."
Tiana’s words ward Mika Sumrs’s heart, but at the sa ti, a chill went through it.
She felt that chill for the grandmother. "Grandma just passed away. She hasn’t even been buried yet. How could they do this!"
"They’re all just a bunch of distant relatives. They’ve been using their connection to Grandma to hold down sham positions at the company and mooch off the salary. Now that Grandma’s gone, they’ve lost their backer. My brother and my dad have already decided to clean them all out of the company in one go. That’s why they’re here to make trouble." Tiana’s face was pale, but her tone was incredibly firm. "The Grayson Family isn’t hurting for their money, but we have no obligation to support them forever. They want a cut of Grandma’s inheritance to leave the company? That’s absolutely impossible."
It had been the sa when Grandpa passed away. All those second cousins, great-uncles, and what have you—they all ca to cause trouble and demand a piece of the inheritance.
Back then, Dad hadn’t wanted to make a big scene and beco a public laughingstock, so he just gave them so money to make them go away.
Now that Grandma was dead, they were back for more money, and a little bit wouldn’t be enough to send them away this ti. With Grandma gone, these distant relatives of the Grayson Family had no one left to sponge off of. So, this ti, they were aiming for sothing much bigger.
This was probably the first ti Mika Sumrs had ever heard Tiana talk about the Grayson Family’s affairs. ’No wonder I’ve been married into the Grayson Family for so many years without ever eting a single relative.’
’It’s better not to have relatives like that anyway. Soone in the Grayson Family just died, and they’re already here demanding money. They’re utterly inhuman.’
Tiana suddenly seed to think of sothing. She grabbed her hand and said, "Sister-in-law, co over here with and look."
She nodded and followed Tiana out onto the balcony.
Through the window, she could see several vans parked outside the Grayson Family villa. Tiana pointed toward them and whispered, "Sister-in-law, my brother hired the people in those vans ahead of ti. So? Isn’t your husband incredible?" After she spoke, Tiana’s face bead with pride.
Listening to Tiana, a flash of astonishnt crossed her eyes, followed by an endless, bitter smile. "Yeah..." ’Tristan Grayson certainly is incredible... It just has nothing to do with ...’
