The next day, it was overcast.
Jiang Nian stood at his doorstep, hesitating about whether to bring an umbrella.
A few hundred grams added to the backpack felt unbearably heavy, and more importantly, he wanted to take a gamble. That feeling of accurately guessing sothing was quite satisfying.
Fighting against nature is endless fun.
When he arrived at the classroom, there were only a few people.
Morning reading hadn’t started yet; Ma Guojun, the big guy, ca in with a small bag from outside the classroom. As soon as he entered, he showed a sly smile upon seeing Jiang Nian.
"Hey, Jiang Nian."
Ma Guojun put down his bag and walked over to Jiang Nian’s desk.
"Do you know who took Yu Tongjie’s book yesterday?"
"Who?"
"No one took it at all; it was thrown out of the window by a student from a fifth-floor liberal arts class." Ma Guojun laughed like a blooming flower, pushed his glasses with his middle finger, and laughed again.
"I heard that person did poorly on the exam and was in a bad mood, then tripped over his book. The aunt downstairs saw the books falling from the sky and thought they were discarded by students, so she picked them up."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Nian looked up.
"Did he get them all back?"
"No way, it was like a celestial scattering of flowers, hahaha." Ma Guojun laughed, "I heard he only got part of them back, and the rest went who knows where."
Jiang Nian laughed too, but with a science exam at nine, he couldn’t really relax.
"Let’s see what happens."
Ma Guojun listened to Jiang Nian’s calm, old-cadre-like voice with no expected emotional response. It felt like he’d stopped just short of a point he was going to make, a bit unsatisfying.
So the chubby baby returned to his seat, planning to share this later with Li Hua.
In no ti, Zhang Ningzhi arrived.
The two exchanged greetings, and then another box of grain milk appeared on Jiang Nian’s desk.
Jiang Nian stared blankly at the grain milk for a mont, wondering if he had drunk too much of Zhang Ningzhi’s drinks. He needed to find an opportunity to return the favor, maybe by treating her to sothing to eat.
He wasn’t short on money now, only grades, since it was a classroom where strength prevailed.
After reviewing for a while, it was ti for morning reading.
Qianbao walked briskly into Class Three’s classroom, but exited imdiately after just one second.
She stood by the classroom door, pinching her nose, and said.
"Open the windows, open the windows, what’s that sll in your class?"
Lin Dong was a bit embarrassed; his clothes were air-dried after yesterday’s shower, carrying a faint damp sll. It was all the indoor balcony’s fault in the dorm; the clothes were all clumped together.
The roommates were a lazy bunch too, not putting away the dry clothes. As a result, his clothes weren’t dry, nor were his shorts, so in a fit, he just didn’t change.
Wearing underwear for a few more days was no big deal; after all, no one else would know.
..... Compared to himself, Zeng You was even more outrageous, the rascal washed clothes by stomping on them with his feet. Just a little detergent, and he started stepping while reading novels.
And on top of that, Lin Dong vaguely rembered that the underwear wasn’t dry in the sa dorm as Zeng You. Perhaps at this mont, Zeng You was free-wheeling around in jeans, playing around unsupervised.
Yuck, what a disgusting guy.
With a whoosh, all the windows were opened.
Qianbao pinched her nose as she entered, looking at the sparse students during early reading. She wore a knitted cardigan, walking around the class while reminding them.
"It’s not winter yet, so make sure to open the windows regularly for ventilation."
After the math exam, half the pressure was relieved, and Jiang Nian wasn’t as tense as he was yesterday.
He watched Qianbao pass by and turned to ask Zhang Ningzhi.
"Hey, do I have a sll on ?"
Zhang Ningzhi instinctively drew closer upon hearing this and could only sll a scent of detergent.
"No."
She kept a straight face, with half a sentence left unsaid. Besides the detergent scent, there was another special fragrance that could not be slled by the nose but purely felt.
That scent was indescribable, sowhat.....pleasant.
"Haha." Jiang Nian laughed, "Then how about I sll you?"
"No, no, no! Don’t!" Zhang Ningzhi’s face turned red, and she moved aside.
Jiang Nian was used to having back-and-forth exchanges with Xu Qianqian all day long, and when he arrived in the classroom, he found it strange that his deskmate was as unresponsive as an NPC, incredibly weak.
To be fair, with soone like Zhang Ningzhi, Jiang Nian could easily trick her into marrying and having five kids with him.
But in Zhen Nan, topics like marriage and having children didn’t interest many people.
Because...of so traditional customs.
Around 8:15, the class began to get restless.
Jiang Nian got up to pack his things; he glanced at Zhang Ningzhi, and she was also packing.
He originally wanted to suggest taking her out for food after the exam was over, but he feared it might affect her exam today. So, he decided to hold off and bring it up after the exams in the afternoon.
The class monitor had already left, and Jiang Nian didn’t even notice when she left the classroom.
Since the science exam was important, as usual, he didn’t go to the test venue but stayed put, silently recalling the questions he reviewed last night.
Ringing went off, signaling the end of the exam.
At the mont he put down his pen, Jiang Nian breathed a long sigh of relief. Although there was still the last English exam left in the big exam, for him right now, the exams were over.
He had done everything he could in the science exam, not sure how many points he’d get.
He thought he perford well and perhaps could score a 220, which for a top student would be considered low.....but for him, it was a high aim.
When the exam ended, he didn’t see Li Qingrong on the way; he was busy rushing to eat.
Really hungry.
He could go without looking at pretty girls but not without eating.
The whole science exam was a race against ti, nearly frying his brain. Juggling problems while frequently checking the clock had him looking like an old man with a weak bladder.
During lunch break, with nothing particular to review, Jiang Nian stood in the hallway playing on his phone.
"Hey!" Yunyun appeared out of nowhere.
"You scared , where did you co from?" Jiang Nian said with a lingering fear, patting his chest, but thinking he should pat the real source of his fright.
"I ca from the hallway over there; seeing you playing so intently, I couldn’t resist.....scaring you." Yunyun said, hands behind her back, with a smile.
"I didn’t ask yesterday afraid of disturbing your revision, so.....how did you do on the exams?"
Jiang Nian used to think she was just a lively, cute girl. Not the stunning type, but with a holy, delicate beauty.
Now, taking a closer look, Yunyun indeed seed quite pleasant.
A typical southern girl, with an oval face, bright eyes, and dainty features. Her nose was small and her lips thin with a healthy pinkish tint, her eyes emitted a few degrees of spiritual energy.
Feeling a bit shy under his gaze, Yunyun turned her head away.
"What are you staring at for.....so lost?"
"What, does looking a bit longer charge a fee?" Jiang Nian glanced at her, "It was okay, the experience I gained from a month of solving problems got wiped out in two days."
Yunyun: "....What kind of saying is that, gained.....wiped out, it feels odd."
There were so many points to choose from that she did not know which to start with.
"Of course it costs; did you pay today’s friend fee? V fifty."
Beep beep, Yunyun’s phone vibrated.
"Wait, you really sent it!"
She blushed and quickly returned the money to Jiang Nian, whispering.
"Just kidding."
"I know, it’s to thank you for lending those forty-fifty sets of math exercises; I saw a question I recognized on the math test." Jiang Nian glanced at her.
"It’s unnecessary, it’s all thanks to your hard work." Yunyun waved it off.
"No, it’s necessary. Each thing on its own rits. Next ti, I’ll just take you to a bubble tea shop." Jiang Nian said, "Feel free to invite a few friends, play so gas or sothing."
Yunyun hesitated, "That’s too lavish."
"Alright, then I’ll just treat you alone."
"Alone alone.....?" She suddenly felt nervous, wasn’t that basically a date? So peculiar, "Just the two of us? Isn’t that....."
"Relax, nothing weird will happen, unless you tempt ."
"Huh??!!" Yunyun was dumbfounded.
Jiang Nian maintained his usual expression, "Like inviting to play King or sothing; I just quit not long ago."
Yunyun was speechless, feeling like she was being played around by Jiang Nian. She originally thought she was quite conversational, able to chat with anyone for a bit.
Now she realized it was because she’d never encountered a social terrorist.
Jiang Nian, this type of person...was hard to assess.
.....
Before the afternoon English exam, Jiang Nian strolled over to Li Qingrong’s exam room.
Yu Tongjie didn’t co.
Squirtle was probably still imrsed in the pain of losing half his books. He hadn’t even finished reading them, and half of his textbooks and study materials were gone.
"Class monitor." Jiang Nian sat down.
Li Qingrong gave him a glance, her expression indifferent.
