Jiang Nian felt indifferent, "What’s that?"

Hopefully, it’s not sothing weird, like a bracelet made of hair, or sothing too expensive.

The forr is unbearable, and the latter is unwanted.

"You’ll know when you co, it’s not sothing expensive." Han Xiao obviously knew what he was thinking.

"Just so postcards, my little token of appreciation."

"Oh, next ti then." Jiang Nian didn’t refuse but didn’t want to go get them either, "No rush anyway, give them to when school starts."

"I’m leaving now."

"Have a safe trip." he said.

Han Xiao: "??? "

There was a mont of silence from the other side, with sounds of breathing. Realizing sothing, he quickly pulled his phone away.

"Jiang Nian, you!!!"

"Beep—"

The call was cut off imdiately, avoiding a conflict.

Jiang Nian had no particular feelings toward Han Xiao, just wanted to be good friends.

The sky was very blue at that ti, and Han Xiao’s chest was small. Who knew in the past two years, she would grow like crazy, as if breaking a seal.

But no matter what, Jiang Nian only wanted to be friends with her.

This person...oh well.

Noon ca, Jiang Nian went out for a al.

As school was about to start, the classroom was getting crowded. Most were day students coming to catch up on assignnts.

As for boarding students, hardly any arrived early.

Since the small county was not competitive during holidays, school usually started after the Lantern Festival, allowing students and teachers to celebrate.

So, Chen Yunyun and her friends would arrive at school the day after tomorrow.

Except for a few people, like a certain Fang.....

In the afternoon, Han Xiao directly called him.

"Co out."

"What’s wrong with you?" Jiang Nian was writing so problems and had to go to the corridor to take the call, "I’m really not coming out to play."

There was a mont of silence from the other end, then they spoke again.

"I’m at the school."

"Hmm?"

Jiang Nian was generally easy-going, as long as you didn’t bother him or force him to do sothing, he was open to discussions.

He hung up the phone and went downstairs.

In front of the notice board of the senior year building stood soone with a paper bag in hand, who else could it be but Han Xiao?

It was exactly three-thirty in the afternoon, the winter sun casting a line of shadow splits across the building.

She stood in the sunlight, wearing a forest-style wool coat. Below, a green plaid skirt and brown leather shoes.

As she turned around, a pair of silver-wire glasses perched on her nose.

"When did you start needing glasses?" Jiang Nian sauntered over, his first comnt making her frown, "Watch fewer movies."

"You watch...!" Han Xiao was furious.

Actually, Han Xiao was quite pretty, she just wasn’t into dressing up before. After learning dance, she looked more feminine.

"Forget it, I won’t argue with you." She pointed to her braided hair, "How’s my hairstyle?"

"It’s okay, Han Er Ya."

"You!!"

Han Xiao was almost spitting blood with anger, yet she forced a sweet smile and handed the paper bag to him.

"Jiang Nian, this is for you."

"What is it?"

He leaned over for a look and saw a stack of postcards inside the bag, along with a yellow envelope.

"Words I’ve written for you, with my self-made pictures on them."

"How stupid." Jiang Nian was speechless, flipping through them and then accepting, "Why are you giving this?"

Han Xiao glanced at the paper bag he held in his hand.

"Mind your own business."

She didn’t gamble on the conscience of this dog-like man, she bet on his perverted nature. In the end, she was proven right.

"You’re so improper, I’ll confiscate it." Jiang Nian coughed, thinking the stuff was quite nice.

Han Xiao felt slightly smug, but sighed.

"My dad won’t let do tutoring at school. He says the teachers for the art class here aren’t good enough, so I’m leaving tomorrow."

Jiang Nian was taken aback, "You’re not celebrating the Lantern Festival at ho?"

"I want to, but my mom’s out of town." Han Xiao looked sad, "I can’t leave her alone for the festival."

"True." Jiang Nian nodded.

However, he felt no regret in his eyes. It’s just as well that Han Xiao isn’t in Zhen Nan, otherwise, the Lantern Festival would’ve turned into the Ghost Festival.

"I’m leaving." Han Xiao waved, "When we et again, it’ll probably be around the college entrance exams."

"Yeah, bye."

"Wait, why aren’t you reacting at all?" Han Xiao said goodbye, yet her feet stayed put.

Jiang Nian thought, if he showed any reaction, wouldn’t that expose him?

What would that make him, a pervert?

"Well, goodbye." He raised his hand, mimicking Han Xiao’s wave, "Wish you progress in your studies."

"You should wish for us to be together." Han Xiao mumbled, "Look over there, there’s a plane."

Saying that, she tightly hugged Jiang Nian.

Jiang Nian: "???"

"Are you trying to choke to death?"

"I won’t let go."

Han Xiao ignored everything, she thought she’d be pushed away. However, after keeping her eyes closed for a while, there was no push.

She just felt a gentle pat on her back.

...

In the third class in the afternoon, the phone alarms rang, and people started packing up to go ho.

Huang Fang originally planned to return to the dormitory, but after asking Jiang Nian if he’d be studying in the evening, she decided to stay.

Going back to the dorm would be less convenient for doing problems, having soone around also made her less afraid.

"Fangfang, what are your plans for the Lantern Festival tomorrow?"

"Maybe... go out for a stroll." Huang Fang mused for a mont, "Shop, buy so snacks."

Hearing this, Jiang Nian raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, Fangfang got so New Year’s money?"

"Yeah, got over a hundred this year." Huang Fang wasn’t embarrassed, she’d beco immune to Jiang Nian’s comnts by now.

"School’s starting soon, they’ll give snacks. I can’t just take without giving back, have to reciprocate a bit."

The social interactions between girls were slightly more complex than those between boys.

"Oh, I see." Jiang Nian nodded.

He thought to himself, without Fangfang’s help, could he get through tomorrow safely? With this in mind, he went downstairs.
