Emily’s POV
"So how did I do this ti?" Knox asked, pulling his dick out of . "Better than last ti?"
I let out a soft laugh and smiled up at him. "Hmm. You can always improve... but you did satisfy , Knox."
He hovered over , eyes full of hunger and sothing deeper. "Why don’t you just be with instead?" His voice turned desperate. "I know Aiden isn’t treating you the way you deserve. I’ll take care of you. I’ll give you anything you want."
I traced a finger down his chest. "I know you would. But you’re not an Alpha. I love being in control. I love being Luna. Right now, only Aiden can give that."
Knox caressed my body, then leaned down and bit my shoulder. I felt his breath on my skin. "You know my dick is still up. We can go for a second round."
"No, Knox. I’m not in the mood." I sat up slowly. "I should get ready to go back ho. Aiden might be looking for ."
"Or he might be with Alina," he said. "We both know he still has feelings for her."
My smile faded. A frown settled deep on my face.
"I didn’t an to upset you," he added quickly. "I’m just being real. I know my friend."
"I don’t care," I said, even though my chest felt tight. I stood up and started dressing. "As long as he doesn’t think for a second about making her his wife again, I’m fine. I will always be the Luna. Not her. Not anyone else."
"Hey, please don’t leave now," Knox begged, reaching for my arm. "I didn’t an to say those things. Emily..."
I pushed his hand away. "I’m not staying, Knox. There’s nothing you can say that will change my mind."
I finished dressing in silence and walked out of his house without looking back. As I drove ho, his words kept echoing in my head. I wasn’t a fool. I knew Aiden still wanted Alina. He was in love with her again. But my worst nightmare was her taking my spot. I allowed it once. Never again.
I stopped at a red light and tapped my fingers on the wheel. Then my eyes landed on a familiar figure crossing the street.
Lucian.
My eyes widened in shock. He got into his car. The light turned green. The idiot in front of didn’t move fast enough. I slamd my hand on the horn, beeping loudly. "Move!"
He finally drove off. I followed Lucian, keeping just enough distance. Where the hell was he going?
I stayed on his tail, heart beating faster. He suddenly took a sharp turn. I turned the wheel to follow — but a car shot out from nowhere and slamd into mine.
The crash was loud. My head smashed into the steering wheel. I tasted blood in my mouth. Then everything went quiet. The world blurred and faded around .
I squinted my eyes open. Everything looked blurry at first, then slowly ca into focus. White walls. The sll of dicine. I was in a hospital.
The crash flashed back into my mind all at once — the screech of tires, the impact, my head slamming into the wheel.
Would I really have tried to end my life because of Lucian? What has he done to that I’ve beco this obsessed?
"You’re awake," a nurse said gently, relief in her voice. "I’ll let your husband know you’re here."
I nodded weakly. Aiden must be so worried.
The door opened. My heart jumped. But it wasn’t Aiden.
"Lucian?" I whispered, eyes widening. A small, hopeful smile crept onto my lips. "You brought here?"
"I had to," he said flatly. "The accident happened right where I was. I’m not heartless enough to watch you die."
Warmth spread through my chest. He ca for . He still cared.
"You see?" I said softly, voice full of fragile hope. "You love . That’s why you didn’t want to die."
Lucian’s face stayed cold. "No, I don’t. I let you live because if you die, it gives Aiden room to run straight to Alina. It’s better for if you stay alive."
The smile slipped from my face. My chest ached.
"I saw your car following , Emily," he continued, irritation thick in his tone. "I don’t know what else I have to say to make you understand. I want nothing to do with you. You’re a Luna now. Act like one and have so self-respect."
The words cut deep. I felt small and stupid under his stare.
Just then, the doctor walked in.
"Mrs. Emily, you need to be more careful next ti," he said, checking his chart. "Maybe you shouldn’t drive at all — not while you’re pregnant. You could put your baby at risk."
"What?" My voice ca out weak and confused. "My baby?"
"You’re three months pregnant," the doctor said with a kind smile. "Congratulations."
My eyes widened in shock. The room felt like it was spinning. I stared at the doctor, my mouth dry. "Three months...?"
"Yes. Everything looks okay for now, but you were lucky. The impact could have been much worse for the baby." He gave a polite smile and left the room.
The silence that followed felt heavy. Lucian was still standing there, arms crossed, that smug smile playing on his lips like he had just won sothing.
"Isn’t this great, Emily?" he repeated, voice dripping with fake sweetness. "You’re going to be a mom. Congratulations."
Tears burned my eyes. I blinked hard, fighting them back, but one still slipped down my cheek. This couldn’t be happening. Three months pregnant. It had to be Knox’s. Aiden and I barely touched each other anymore.
How did I let my life beco such a ss? If anyone finds out about and Knox... I’m finished. No one can ever know.
Lucian was still standing there, watching with that cold, amused look on his face.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked. "Aren’t you happy?"
I swallowed the lump in my throat and lifted my chin, forcing my voice to stay steady even though my hands were shaking under the sheet.
"I see you’re happy about this," I said softly. "If I’ve been pregnant for three months... then the baby can only be yours."
Lucian’s smile vanished instantly. His whole body went still.
