At the hospital-wide eting, the directors of every departnt, section heads, and head nurses were all present.
The entire hospital leadership team was also in attendance; it was a rare occasion for Dean Sun, Dean Tang, and Dean Liu to be gathered together.
As the leader of the ergency rescue task force, Dean Tang presided over the eting.
In the large conference room, everyone understood that the main agenda for this eting was the comndation and summary of the recent mass burn victim treatnt operation.
And the stars of the show were undoubtedly the most prominent departnts: the Ergency Departnt and the Burn Departnt.
Especially in this operation, Huo Yun and Wei Guoqiang had both commanded with composure, each leading physicians of all levels in their respective departnts to carry out effective and tily treatnt.
Dean Tang specifically praised the Ergency Departnt, giving Huo Yun’s work his full affirmation.
After finishing his summary, Dean Tang handed the microphone to Huo Yun, allowing him to give a report and showcase the prowess of the Ergency Departnt.
Huo Yun cleared his throat and took the stage. He pulled out a ticulously worded script and began from a broad perspective, thanking the hospital leadership and his colleagues from various departnts. He then proceeded to accurately report all the data from the rescue operation.
Listening to the data Huo Yun presented—the number of patients, the ti spent on ergency treatnt, and the various subsequent arrangents—the other departnt directors were filled with admiration and couldn’t help but feel emotional. ’This was truly an arduous and urgent task!’
After finishing with the comprehensive and polite preliminaries, Huo Yun moved on to his true purpose for this eting:
"Commanding this rescue operation has made our departnt realize the importance of introducing advanced equipnt and cutting-edge dical technologies, building a talent pipeline, and cultivating and selecting promising young physicians..."
"During this rescue operation, a large number of young physicians in our departnt stepped up, shouldered heavy burdens, took on great responsibility, and played crucial roles."
"Here, I want to specifically ntion two physicians."
"The first is our departnt’s youngest deputy chief physician, the multi-talented Deputy Director Jiang Ming, who also has outstanding research achievents. During this rescue, Director Jiang shouldered the heavy responsibility of being the temporary leader of the surgical team. While I was tied up with command duties, he overca imnse difficulties to promptly save multiple critically ill patients. Furthermore, he moved between the various wards, playing a key role in stabilizing morale and uniting the team."
"This also made realize that we should cultivate more elite young physicians and send them out more often for advanced studies. It is precisely because of Director Jiang’s studies that our departnt acquired its first Baxter BM25 (Southern Country) blood purification device. This machine perford brilliantly during the rescue, and our use of continuous blood purification therapy has put us at the forefront in Jin Province."
As they listened to Huo Yun’s praise for Jiang Ming, the other departnt directors nodded repeatedly. Most of them were already familiar with Jiang Ming and held him in high regard.
The three deans, Dean Tang included, were each lost in their own thoughts. ’It seems Director Huo has a point. The hospital should arrange for more young doctors to pursue advanced studies in the future.’
After praising Jiang Ming, Huo Yun moved on to his assessnt of Wu Ting:
"Besides Director Jiang, there is another physician who many of you here may not be familiar with. However, the energy he unleashed and the talent he displayed during this rescue operation were beyond even my own expectations, and I am deeply impressed."
"He is a newcor to our departnt, a resident, Dr. Wu Ting. Although Dr. Wu cos from a humble background and doesn’t have a distinguished academic record, the practical experience and solid fundantal skills he has demonstrated are truly admirable."
"His astonishing ability to learn and his dedication to research outside of his regular duties impressed every dical professional present. Even Professor Shen Guofeng from Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital, whom we consulted remotely, holds him in high regard."
Hearing Huo Yun’s introduction, the physicians, aside from the few directors who had worked with Wu Ting, found it hard to believe.
’A re resident could be that capable?’
Huo Yun proceeded to present concrete data and case studies:
"Aside from the sheer volu of reparative surgeries Dr. Wu Ting perford during this operation, his most important contributions can be divided into three main areas:"
"First, there’s the long-standing joint research project between our departnt and the National dical Departnt, titled ’Combined Traditional Chinese dicine and Western dicine Treatnt for Tracheotomy.’ This protocol significantly improved the efficiency of rescuing asphyxiated patients and helped resolve issues with subsequent infections. Building on his prior work and the large number of cases from this rescue, the corresponding paper is now nearing completion!"
"Second, Dr. Wu diligently studies cutting-edge dostic research papers. His study and application of an article from the Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital Journal on the Haijin Gang Burn Fluid Replacent Formula compensated for our shortcomings in this area in both the Burn and Ergency Departnts. This greatly increased our treatnt success rate and set an example within Jin Province. In fact, Professor Shen Guofeng has invited Dr. Wu to co-present with his team at this year’s ergency dicine academic conference."
"Finally, the combined efforts of Dr. Wu and Director Jiang resulted in our departnt’s first successful continuous blood purification therapy, showcasing our application of advanced equipnt and cutting-edge techniques. This achievent will be featured in an interview with Fan City TV Station, demonstrating the comprehensive strength of our hospital and departnt to the entire city!"
After Huo Yun finished, all the chief physicians were stunned. ’This Dr. Wu Ting is incredible!’
Dean Tang had so familiarity with Wu Ting, but he never expected him to perform so exceptionally during this rescue.
The departnt directors began to murmur amongst themselves, their words filled with amazent and praise. Many expressed an interest in getting to know this young man.
On stage, seeing that the timing was perfect, Huo Yun revealed his true objective:
"Therefore, in light of this rescue operation, I believe we must reward and comnd these outstanding individuals. Only by rewarding people based on rit can we further enhance the motivation and initiative of our hospital’s doctors and foster a healthy competitive environnt."
"As of now, due to his academic background, Dr. Wu Ting is still just an externally-recruited resident in our departnt. In principle, our hospital does not currently hire doctors who only hold a bachelor’s degree. However, given the clinical abilities and overall professional qualities Dr. Wu Ting has demonstrated, I propose that we offer him a permanent position and keep him here. If a talent like him were to leave, it would be a great loss for our departnt."
Huo Yun had always been protective of his people and was well-known for securing benefits for his subordinates. That was why he had directly proposed to keep Wu Ting at the hospital-wide eting.
He did this even though it would likely take up the only permanent position available for the Ergency Departnt’s surgical team, which, in a chain reaction, would force his own graduate student, Cheng Feng, to leave.
Choosing the more exceptional of the two, Huo Yun had already considered Cheng Feng’s future before making this proposal. Cheng Feng was certainly skilled enough to earn a position, so Huo Yun could either have him wait another year or personally recomnd him to another hospital in the city.
’If I don’t settle this for Wu Ting now,’ Huo Yun thought, ’I’m afraid it will crush his spirit. Besides, if we let a talent that even Shen Guofeng treasures slip away, the Ergency Departnt at City First Hospital might be losing a future leader.’
Therefore, he was determined to leverage this situation. This was the perfect opportunity.
