At the sound of that voice, Liu Ergou and Feng Chunling froze on the spot until the pounding on the door started again.
"How could it be Wu Dahu?" they exclaid in unison.
They racked their brains but couldn't understand how Wu Dahu would know they were in this hotel. At the thought, a wave of panic washed over Feng Chunling. She might have been fearless when seducing Liu Ergou, but if their affair were to be exposed, she would rather die.
"What do we do, Er Gou?" Feng Chunling asked, her face pale with fear.
Liu Ergou didn't answer imdiately, instead sinking into deep thought.
This doesn't make any sense, he thought. Wu Dahu had co looking for his sister-in-law once, and Liu Ergou had taught him a lesson for it. Then he'd brought n to cause more trouble, but his backup turned out to be Li Dafa, so Wu Dahu ended up getting beaten again. After that, Wu Dahu had vanished as if he'd never existed in the village.
Yet here he was again today, for so unknown reason. Judging by the racket, he was dead set on causing trouble. Nothing Liu Ergou could say would make a difference.
The relentless pounding on the door scared Feng Chunling witless, but Liu Ergou remained expressionless, as if nothing was happening.

Just then, he heard the sound of footsteps coming from the bathroom.

He whipped his head around to look at Liu Ergou, his face a mask of shock.
"What's going on? Liu Ergou, how did you get into the next room?"
At that mont, Wu Dahu was utterly baffled. He had clearly seen Liu Ergou and Feng Chunling enter the hotel together, looking very intimate, just monts before.
