With that thought, Liu Ergou sat down in a chair and waited patiently for Zhang Man to finish her shower.
The sound of rushing water echoed from the bathroom. Liu Ergou sat on the chair, his expression calm, as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
About half an hour later, the bathroom door opened.
Zhang Man, wrapped in a bath towel, slowly walked out of the bathroom and ca directly behind Liu Ergou.
"Er Gou, I'm done," she said.
Hearing her voice, Liu Ergou instinctively turned to look. The sight nearly made him jump out of his skin.
Zhang Man's hair was sopping wet, and a single bath towel was wound tightly around her chest, revealing her smooth, pale shoulders. She was wearing nothing but the towel.
This is bad, Liu Ergou scread internally. This woman is clearly trying to seduce . I have to stand my ground and not let her get her way.
With that thought, Liu Ergou took a deep breath. Then, pretending to be composed, he said, "Oh, you're done, right?"
"Since you're done, hurry up and get dressed. We still need to check on your condition."
"You go ahead and change. I'll wait for you outside!"
With that, Liu Ergou stood up without the slightest hesitation and headed outside. However, just as he stood up, before he could even take a step, Zhang Man reached out and grabbed his arm.
She said in a coquettish voice, "What's the hurry, Er Gou? We have plenty of ti."
"Why don't you take a shower too!"
With that, Zhang Man began pulling Liu Ergou toward the bathroom. But with her strength alone, how could she possibly drag him? No matter how hard she pulled, Liu Ergou remained immobile.
Seeing this, Zhang Man beca sowhat angry.
Is this man made of wood? she fud. I've made myself so obvious, how can he still be so indifferent? Don't I have any charm?
No, what a joke! How could I possibly lack charm? If I did, would all the n who've fallen at my feet these past few years be blind?
Watching the unmoving Liu Ergou, Zhang Man's eyes flickered, and she quickly thought of a good plan.
Zhang Man pinched her nose, wrinkled her brow, and said in a low voice, "Er Gou, just go take a shower, okay?"
"You must have sweated a lot on your way here. You sll a little, and it wouldn't be right to et my grandfather like this."
"You should shower first and get cleaned up. I have clean clothes for you to wear."
This ti, Liu Ergou didn't remain impassive. He lifted his arm and sniffed his sleeve. He frowned. "Huh? What sweaty sll? Zhang Man, you must be mistaken. I don't sll anything."
A smile touched the corners of Zhang Man's lips.
"How could I be mistaken?" she insisted, pushing him toward the bathroom.
"A boy's nose isn't as sensitive as a girl's!"
"Besides, slling like sweat is just rude!"
"Go on, hurry up!"
Hearing her certainty, Liu Ergou began to feel unsure himself. And just like that, before he knew what was happening, Liu Ergou was pushed into the bathroom by Zhang Man.
Standing in the bathroom, Liu Ergou finally realized what was happening. But what good was realizing it now? He was already inside. He had no choice but to wash up.
Resigned, Liu Ergou said nothing more, silently stripping off his clothes and starting the shower. The hot water cascaded over his body, making him squint his eyes in pleasure.
Just as Liu Ergou was enjoying the spray, the bathroom door suddenly slid open. The sound startled him, and he snapped his eyes open. Zhang Man, still wrapped in her towel, stepped inside.
Startled, Liu Ergou quickly shut off the water and hastily grabbed another towel to wrap around his waist.
He said in annoyance, "Zhang Man, what are you doing? I'm showering! Get out!"
"Did you hear ? Get out! And stop staring!"
Seeing his panicked reaction, Zhang Man didn't leave. Instead, she crossed her arms, a smirk playing on her lips.
"What are you so afraid of? It's not like I haven't seen you before. Besides, I'm not just gawking."
"I just ca in to get sothing. I'll leave as soon as I have it."
Ignoring his protests, Zhang Man walked right up to him. After glancing around, she casually took a bottle of conditioner and headed outside.
Liu Ergou breathed a sigh of relief as he watched her walk out.
That was too close, he thought. I can never be alone with this woman again.
Just as he had that thought, Zhang Man, who had supposedly left, suddenly reappeared at his side for so reason. Before Liu Ergou could speak, she beat him to it. "Er Gou, it looks like showering alone is a hassle for you."
"Let help. I'll start by washing your hair."
Without giving him a chance to reply, she put down the conditioner and picked up the shampoo bottle. She was getting ready to wash his hair.
Frightened, Liu Ergou hastily refused.
"I don't need your help!"
"Get out now, do you hear !"
"If your dad saw this, we'd never be able to explain our way out of it!"
Just as Liu Ergou finished speaking, Zhang Man suddenly leaned in, her face just inches from his. A sweet fragrance washed over Liu Ergou's face, making him freeze on the spot. But her next words sent a look of pure terror across his face.
"Oh? So you do rember you're in my house, Er Gou."
"And since it's my house, it's my territory. On my territory, I make the rules."
"I advise you to do as I say. If you don't, I have no problem screaming that you're trying to assault ."
"What do you think would happen if my dad heard that!"
The mont she said this, Liu Ergou was utterly horrified. He never expected this woman, Zhang Man, to be so terrifying. To think she would resort to such a tactic. Whether the tactic was good or bad didn't matter. If she actually went through with it, he would be damned with no hope of clearing his na. The thought alone made Liu Ergou break out in a cold sweat.
Seeing him speechless, Zhang Man covered her mouth and giggled.
"Alright, alright, look how scared you are. I was just joking with you!"
"I didn't expect you to take it seriously."
"Lower your head. I'll wash your hair for you."
As she spoke, she gently patted his shoulder.
Staring at the woman in front of him, Liu Ergou was utterly speechless.
