Liu Ergou's words stunned Xu Yulan, who instantly stiffened in his embrace.
Gently patting her back, he continued, "Sister-in-law, I'm not lying to you! What I, Liu Ergou, say is the truth. If you're my woman for a day, you're my woman for a lifeti!"
At his words, Xu Yulan could no longer hold back and began to sob softly in his arms. Her weeping took Liu Ergou by surprise.
"Sister-in-law, why are you crying!" he asked, startled.
Hearing his question, Xu Yulan lifted her head and said softly, "It's nothing, I'm not crying. My eyes just feel a little irritated."
"Er Gou, I'm so worried... I'm worried that you'll forget once you get married!"
Her words struck Liu Ergou like a bullet between the eyes. In that instant, he understood. His sister-in-law wasn't jealous; she was afraid. She was terrified that one day he would abandon her, that he would forget her.
Realizing this, Liu Ergou imdiately promised, "Sister-in-law, don't worry. No matter what happens, I will never, ever forget you. I've told you before, you are the most important person in my heart! You will always be number one!"
This declaration only made Xu Yulan cry even harder. The already flustered Liu Ergou grew even more agitated at the sight, becoming completely flustered and not knowing what to do.
I'm just telling her the truth! Why is she suddenly crying so hard?
Before he could say anything else, Xu Yulan buried her head in his chest again. "Er Gou, I'm fine," her muffled voice ca. "I'm just too happy!"
"Let cry for a little while. I'll be okay soon!"
Since she had put it that way, Liu Ergou couldn't say anything more. He could only hold her quietly, standing there.
More than ten minutes passed like this before Xu Yulan's emotions finally stabilized. The mont she cald down, she took the initiative, lifting her head and kissing him directly. Caught unprepared, Liu Ergou froze on the spot.
He quickly recovered, however. Reacting instinctively, he swept Xu Yulan into his arms and, with a surge of strength, tossed her onto the bed. His eyes were bloodshot. Casting all else aside, he pounced.
That night was exceptionally long.
A great deal of ti passed before the sky finally began to brighten with the first hints of dawn. As the sun rose, a tentative quiet finally settled over the room.
Liu Ergou got up and went outside to practice his Body Cultivation Technique as usual. He had now reached the fourth level of the technique. Knowing nothing about this new stage, he practiced while trying to feel out its profound mysteries.
His daily cultivation session ended quickly. By then, Liu Ergou had a much clearer understanding of the marvels of the fourth level. The fundantal enhancent of his physical fitness was a given, but it had now reached a superhuman state. A casual punch carried the power to shatter stone steles. If he were to hit a person, one blow could flatten them into a pancake.
Furthermore, the qi within his body had undergone a massive transformation. His original qi could only be used to heal and save lives, and even then, its effect was rely auxiliary and not particularly potent. But now, the qi in his body had completely evolved into sothing else.
Liu Ergou called it True Qi.
This new True Qi could leave his body and possessed nurous wondrous applications. As for the specifics, he was still in the process of exploring them and wasn't entirely sure himself. However, one thing was certain: he could project his True Qi to attack others, and its power was quite impressive.
After testing out this thod of external attack, Liu Ergou gave a big stretch and returned to the room to prepare breakfast. He had kept his sister-in-law busy all night, so making breakfast today was his duty. With that thought, he scratched his head and headed for the kitchen.
The mont he entered, he slapped his forehead in exasperation. On the table was a pot of leftover egg-fried rice. Last night, things had escalated so suddenly that he'd completely forgotten to eat after cooking.
He sighed, picking up the pot. He planned to dish out the rice and use the pot to make so porridge. But before he could act, Liu Yunxi's voice called from outside.
"Er Gou, are you up yet?"
Hearing her, Liu Ergou hurried to open the courtyard gate and welco her in.
"Yun Xi, what are you doing up so early today?" he asked, looking at her curiously.
With that one question, her jealousy flared.
"Oh, no reason. I just felt like waking up early to see if so other woman was trying to seduce my boyfriend away!" Liu Yunxi said, striding past him into the yard.
Liu Ergou stood awkwardly at the entrance, unsure what to say. He had to admit, Liu Yunxi's sarcasm was truly formidable, leaving even him speechless.
Just as he was racking his brain for sothing to say to ease the tension, Liu Yunxi suddenly stepped forward and snatched the pot from his hands.
"Er Gou, you should rest and save your energy. You still have to et Zhang Man later, don't you?"
"I'll make breakfast for you today!"
Without giving him a chance to respond, she turned and walked toward the kitchen. Hearing her sharp, sarcastic words, Liu Ergou couldn't take it anymore. He shot forward, wrapping his arms around her from behind. He lowered his head and pressed a deep, firm kiss to her lips.
After a long mont, Liu Ergou reluctantly lifted his head.
Liu Yunxi imdiately glanced around nervously. After checking several tis to confirm they were alone, she raised a hand and lightly tapped him on the chest.
"You're impossible, Er Gou! Aren't you afraid soone will see? If we were spotted, who knows what people would say about us!"
Liu Ergou simply repeated what he had said the night before. "Co on, I already told you, you're my girlfriend. What's there to be afraid of?"
"Let them say whatever they want. What business is it of theirs if I kiss my own girlfriend?"
"Honestly!"
Hearing his words, Liu Yunxi's heart filled with delight.
Indeed, I'm the one Er Gou likes the most!
