The clinking and clanging persisted until morning before finally ceasing. By then, Lu Shuangyue was already fast asleep on the couch.
Just then, Liu Ergou walked out of the empty room carrying two small bottles. He gently woke the sleeping Lu Shuangyue before handing the bottles to her.
"Shuang Yue, look! This is the result of half a night's work!"
Still groggy, Lu Shuangyue stared at the small bottles in Liu Ergou's hands, her mind clearly not registering them. It took over a minute before she seed to snap out of it, as if waking from a dream.
"Ah! Is this...?"
With that, Lu Shuangyue unscrewed the bottle's cap and peered inside. It was filled with a white ointnt that emitted a faint, dicinal fragrance. The scent wasn't pungent; rather, it was surprisingly fresh and pleasant, compelling her to take a few more sniffs.
Just then, Liu Ergou said, "Shuang Yue, it doesn't just sll good. Its effects are incredible! Here, try it."
As he spoke, Liu Ergou scooped out a bit of ointnt and rubbed it onto an old scar on Lu Shuangyue's arm, one she'd gotten from a fall when she was little. After spreading it evenly, he declared, "Just wait until this afternoon. Your scar will have faded by half! If you don't believe , just wait and see."
Lu Shuangyue said nothing, simply nodding.
The morning flew by, but Orange Bear still hadn't shown up to collect the dicine. This left Lu Shuangyue feeling a little anxious.
"Er Gou, do you think... Orange Bear doesn't trust us?"
Liu Ergou showed little reaction, rely glancing at his phone. "It's only noon. I'd bet there's an 80% chance she still isn't awake. If you don't believe , we can just wait."
Hearing this, Lu Shuangyue said no more and settled in to wait with him. Another two hours slipped by, and it was already 2:00 PM.
Just as Lu Shuangyue was about to say sothing, the villa's main doorbell finally rang.
Liu Ergou went to open the door and found Orange Bear from yesterday standing there, panting. Upon seeing him, she said apologetically, "Sorry, I overslept!"
With that, she walked into the room and sat on the couch, getting straight to the point.
"Let's cut the crap. Give the stuff! I already posted the video, but most people are just tearing apart! I'm telling you, if your dicine doesn't work, I'll be a complete pariah in three days!"
Without a word, Liu Ergou simply tossed a small bottle to Orange Bear. "Here's the dicine. Apply it twice a day; using it before bed is best. This bottle is enough for three days, so apply it wherever you think you need it. Alright, I won't keep you. I've been busy all night and still haven't eaten."
Hearing Liu Ergou's dismissal, Orange Bear didn't waste any ti. She stood up, ready to leave. After all, she was anxious to find out if his ointnt actually worked.
However, just as she reached the door, she suddenly turned back to Liu Ergou.
"Oh, right. I haven't asked you yet. What is this ointnt called?"
Her question caught Liu Ergou completely off guard.
What's the ointnt called? Damn it! I was so focused on making it that I completely forgot to give it a na. This is bad, this is really bad!
At that thought, Liu Ergou couldn't help but turn to look at Lu Shuangyue, only to see the sa panic reflected in her eyes. Clearly, she hadn't thought of it either.
For a mont, a heavy silence fell over the room.
In that instant, Orange Bear's heart sank. I've really been scamd this ti, she thought. I've taken an unlicensed product that doesn't even have a na. It's so sketchy you could call it a 'four-no' product and it wouldn't be an exaggeration.
Nearly a full minute passed before Liu Ergou finally broke the silence. "This ointnt... uh... it's called Snow Skin Cream! Yes, that's right. It's called Snow Skin Cream!"
Hearing the na, Orange Bear sighed. He clearly just made that up on the spot. This is terrible. I'm really going to be a pariah now. The thought plunged her into despair.
But her mood soon lifted slightly. Besides, Liu Ergou promised yesterday he'd take full responsibility for whatever happened. Even if I beco a public enemy, it's not like I'm short on money. When I think about it that way, I can accept it.
With that in mind, Orange Bear turned and said, "Alright, I'm leaving then. I'll have my assistant co back later to sign the contract. Just make sure you don't regret this!"
Liu Ergou nodded without another word as Orange Bear turned and left.
A mont later, a young woman who looked to be about seventeen or eighteen knocked on the villa's door. It was, without a doubt, Orange Bear's assistant.
Liu Ergou didn't want to waste ti with small talk. He quickly signed the contract with the young woman and sent her on her way.
Just as Liu Ergou was about to get so rest, Lu Shuangyue suddenly exclaid from the side, "Er Gou! Quick, look! The scar on my arm has really faded a lot!"
With that, she lifted her arm and thrust it in front of Liu Ergou's face, urging him to look.
Liu Ergou glanced over. Just as she'd said, the scar on her arm had indeed faded significantly. With one or two more applications, it would likely disappear completely.
Right now, however, Liu Ergou was in no mood to indulge her. He had been busy all night, and while he wasn't physically tired, he was ntally exhausted. I need to rest!
With that thought, he simply reached out and pulled Lu Shuangyue into his embrace. "Ti to rest," he said.
Then, ignoring her struggles, he closed his eyes to sleep. At first, Lu Shuangyue kept squirming in his arms, trying to break free from his grasp. But she soon stopped, knowing it was useless. Liu Ergou was simply too strong.
And so, Lu Shuangyue dazedly drifted off to sleep in his arms.
「Three days passed in the blink of an eye.」
Today was the day Orange Bear had promised her fans she would hold the offline et-and-greet. It was now afternoon. Liu Ergou and Lu Shuangyue were sitting on the couch, each on their phone, watching Orange Bear's livestream.
