For a ti, Liu Ergou was lost in thought. He couldn't focus on cultivation, his mind consud with the Body Tempering Art, wondering why his progress had surged so dramatically. After mulling it over for a while, his gaze finally settled on Mi Xiaoying. After all, he hadn't done anything else yesterday; the only significant thing he'd done was claim Mi Xiaoying.
I should go see Mi Xiaoying later, he thought. With that decided, Liu Ergou cald his mind and began to cultivate.
The cultivation session ended quickly. After a simple breakfast, Liu Ergou put on his clothes, left the villa, and headed back to Ting Tian Pavilion. A mont later, he arrived.
Just like the day before, he went straight to the second floor upon entering Ting Tian Pavilion. To his surprise, however, no one stopped him today. He walked unimpeded directly into Mi Xiaoying's office.
Liu Ergou sat on the sofa, a wide grin on his face as he looked at Mi Xiaoying sitting behind her desk. The sight made Mi Xiaoying's brow furrow.
"What are you doing here again, Liu Ergou?" she demanded. "You're not welco here, so get out. I've already paid you back every last cent!"
Her angry tone only made Liu Ergou's grin widen. Staring at the grinning man who had taken her first ti, Mi Xiaoying was furious.
Just as Mi Xiaoying was about to say sothing more, Liu Ergou suddenly patted the sofa beside him. "Co here!"
"No!" Mi Xiaoying flatly refused.
Liu Ergou wasn't upset. He simply asked again, "Why not?"
His question made her grind her teeth in fury.
"You're asking why, Liu Ergou?!" she seethed. "Do you honestly not know? Must I spell it out for you? I could barely walk this morning!"
Hearing this, Liu Ergou laughed out loud, stood up, and walked straight up to her. Today, she was still in a skirt, but she had swapped her black stockings for white ones. Liu Ergou's eyebrows rose slightly at the sight, but he remained silent. Instead, he reached out and tilted her chin up.
A shiver ran through Mi Xiaoying. "Liu Ergou, don't you dare try anything today! If you do that again, it'll kill ! Besides, I've paid you back all the money, so don't you..."
Liu Ergou cut her off. "President Mi, I never said anything about the money. I just want to know how we're going to settle what happened before. Can you give an answer?"
As soon as he spoke, Mi Xiaoying glared at him.
In truth, Liu Ergou hadn't co just because of his Body Tempering Art. He was here to settle things once and for all. He knew Mi Xiaoying must hate him after what he'd done. Eventually, she would undoubtedly resort to any ans necessary to get revenge. He'd already had a taste of her thods. While she hadn't hard him directly, her habit of targeting the people around him was disgusting and emotionally draining.
Looking at Liu Ergou, Mi Xiaoying said through gritted teeth, "What is there to say about the past? After what you did to , everything that happened before is wiped clean! Surely you don't expect to compensate you?"
Liu Ergou ignored her question. "I'm not asking for compensation. I just wanted to talk. And about that stone gambling... why did you want to see then? Were you planning to double-cross ? Or..."
"Liu Ergou, what the hell are you talking about!" Mi Xiaoying snapped. "Do you have any idea how much revenue Ting Tian Pavilion brings in daily? To be blunt, we make over ten million a day! Do you think I need your few million? I called you over simply to ask how you're so skilled at stone gambling. You pick one stone, it has jade. You pick several more, and they all do. That's it! You really have a persecution complex!"
Her words left Liu Ergou stunned. He had never dread her reason for seeking him out was so simple. It seems I really was overthinking things.
Seeing his silence, Mi Xiaoying continued, "You think I wanted to see you? If it weren't for that upcoming stone gambling event, I wouldn't have bothered. We were just short on experts! Who would have thought... Hmph!"
At this, Mi Xiaoying was too angry to speak. Looking at her, rendered speechless, Liu Ergou started to feel a pang of embarrassnt.
If only I'd known it was that simple... sigh... But what's done is done. It's too late for regrets now.
After a mont's thought, Liu Ergou swept Mi Xiaoying up in a princess carry and placed her on his lap. The sudden movent sent a jolt of pain through her, causing her to frown, unable to utter a word.
For a mont, Liu Ergou felt like a monster. But the thought was fleeting. After all, she had targeted him first.
Looking at Mi Xiaoying's pained expression, Liu Ergou didn't say much more, but simply lifted her skirt.
This terrified Mi Xiaoying. "What... what are you doing!" she cried out. She tried to scramble back, but he held her legs fast, making escape impossible.
Seeing her terrified expression, Liu Ergou said, "Don't be afraid. I'm just going to treat you. This will be quick."
As he spoke, he circulated the True Qi in his body and began to treat her. The next mont, Mi Xiaoying, who had been in great pain, felt herself enveloped by a warm current. A sense of comfort spread through her body.
After just a few minutes, the warmth faded. As it did, Mi Xiaoying clearly felt the pain vanish along with it.
Looking at the man before her, she couldn't help but ask, "Liu Ergou, is this also one of your family's dical skills?"
Liu Ergou nodded. "Yes."
A thoughtful expression crossed Mi Xiaoying's face. "Your family's dical arts are truly miraculous," she said. "Too bad they'll be mine soon enough. It seems I'll have the last laugh after all, Liu Ergou!"
Yet, upon hearing her words, Liu Ergou wasn't angry at all.
