Hearing Lu Shuangyue's call, Liu Ergou stopped and turned to look at her, though he already knew what she wanted. He still feigned ignorance, however.
"What is it, President Lu? Is there sothing you need?"
The mont Liu Ergou spoke, both Zhang San, who hadn't gone far, and Li Dafa turned to look at him, their gazes laced with suggestive amusent.
Grandpa San's voice rang out, "Hahaha, my young friend, you've got quite the romantic luck! Not so different from in my youth! Take it from soone who's been there: when an opportunity cos knocking, you have to seize it!"
Before Liu Ergou could say anything, Lu Shuangyue took the initiative. "Grandpa San, could you please not talk nonsense? I need the Divine Doctor for a serious matter. You're overthinking things!"
Grandpa San hurriedly corrected himself. "Right, right, a serious matter! We understand, we all understand!"
After saying that, he burst out laughing. The sound of his laughter made Lu Shuangyue's face turn beet red.
"Grandpa San!" Lu Shuangyue exclaid, stamping her foot forcefully.
Seeing her teased to this extent, Grandpa San said no more, simply smiling as he returned to his car. He then left, with Li Dafa following right behind him.
Now, only Lu Shuangyue and Liu Ergou remained. It wasn't until this mont that Lu Shuangyue was finally able to compose herself. She took a few deep breaths.
"I was wondering… I was wondering if you could treat my illness, please!" she said, looking at him earnestly. "Divine Doctor!"
The last ti her illness had flared up, Liu Ergou had pulled her back from the brink of death. Ever since then, she had wanted to ask him to treat her properly, but he had left before she had the chance. After he was gone, she had searched for him extensively but could find no news of his whereabouts.
But today, fortune had finally smiled upon her; she had found Liu Ergou! She had to seize this hard-won opportunity.
However, upon hearing her request, Liu Ergou didn't agree right away but instead fell into contemplation. Seeing this, Lu Shuangyue instantly understood. She imdiately took a bank card out of her wallet and stuffed it into his hand.
"There's 200,000 in the card, and the PIN is six sixes. Once you've cured , I'll reward you handsoly. I definitely won't be stingy!"
Feeling the bank card in his hand, Liu Ergou couldn't help but marvel. Being skilled really makes earning money simple. Just like that, I've made over 300,000. That's sothing I never would have dared to imagine in the past. It's beyond my wildest dreams.
However, as he toyed with the card, he didn't readily agree. Instead, he asked, "Tell , President Lu, do you really trust that much? You trust that I can cure your illness for certain?"
"Let give you a piece of advice: don't get desperate and turn to any doctor you can find," he continued. "You don't even know my full na. You know nothing about , yet you dare to trust like this?"
At his words, Lu Shuangyue froze, completely taken aback.
He's right. I don't even know his na.
While she was in a daze, Liu Ergou smiled. "I'm just teasing you. My surna is Liu. You can call Liu Ergou. But there are so things I need to tell you in advance. I can indeed cure your disease, but it's a problem with your heart. I'm sure you know how important the heart is."
"Therefore, the treatnt process is bound to be very long and quite troubleso. Are you sure you can accept that?"
Lu Shuangyue nodded without hesitation. "What's there not to accept? Compared to living under the constant threat of death, a little trouble during treatnt is nothing!"
But Liu Ergou's next sentence made her expression freeze.
"Even if it ans taking off your clothes?"
The question left Lu Shuangyue stunned for a long mont, her face flushing crimson. Fortunately, her back was to Liu Ergou, so he couldn't see her expression. Honestly, even though she knew it was for her treatnt, the thought of baring it all for this young man made her, a formidable businesswoman, extrely embarrassed.
Just when Liu Ergou thought she would refuse, Lu Shuangyue spoke with a firm tone. "I can!"
"I've read about traditional Chinese dicine. Disrobing for treatnt is a normal procedure."
Since she had put it that way, Liu Ergou had nothing more to say. "Alright, since you're prepared, we'll do the treatnt tonight. Your condition has worsened a bit. Tell , where should we go?"
Lu Shuangyue thought for a mont before pointing at the hotel. "Let's go to the hotel. I happen to be staying here tonight."
With that, she began to lead the way. Soon, they arrived at the hotel and took the elevator to the top floor.
The entire way up, Lu Shuangyue's mind was preoccupied with what was about to happen, and she drifted off into her thoughts. She walked like a zombie, not watching her step as she wobbled toward her room door. She reached out, opened the door, and stepped forward to enter. However, because her mind was completely filled with thoughts of the impending treatnt, she didn't see the threshold at her feet.
And so, she tripped over it quite spectacularly.
Caught completely off guard, her body lost its balance.
"Ah!"
Lu Shuangyue let out a startled cry, her hands flailing in mid-air as she tried to grab onto sothing. Seeing this, Liu Ergou rushed forward to catch her. However, she fell too quickly, and he only managed to grab the front of her dress.
RIP!
Her white dress was torn open, revealing a smooth shoulder and an even larger expanse of snowy peaks. The sight made Liu Ergou's eyes go wide.
Lu Shuangyue, for her part, was also stunned frozen. She had never anticipated such a thing could happen; it was utterly unexpected. But she had no ti to think. With her dress torn, she continued to fall. Driven by pure instinct, her hands waved about and miraculously latched onto Liu Ergou's arm.
He hadn't expected this either and was pulled down hard, landing right on top of her.
Instantly, Liu Ergou felt a warm, soft, and fragrant body pressed against him, a sensation he found quite enjoyable. Wave after wave of a sweet scent drifted into his nose, making him feel as if he were floating in a heavenly realm.
