For a mont, Ning Hua fell silent, not uttering a single word, and gave up struggling.
Seeing her deanor, Liu Ergou thought she was angry. So he said carefully, "Uh, Senior Sister, you can't bla for this. I was just protecting myself."
"Your Flying Swallow Piercing Heart Kick is truly painful; it hurt so much I could barely take it."
"How about we make a deal? When I let you go, you don't kick , alright?"
"Let's just get along peacefully!"
After hearing Liu Ergou's words, Ning Hua simply nodded in agreent.
Seeing her agree, Liu Ergou breathed a sigh of relief. He then slowly released his hold on her.
But the mont he let her go, she imdiately went on the attack, pouncing toward him with bared teeth and claws. Caught off guard, Liu Ergou was pinned beneath her.
"Liu Ergou, this day next year will be the anniversary of your death! Prepare to die!" Ning Hua shouted down at him.
What puzzled her was that Liu Ergou didn't answer, instead lying there silently. His eyes were fixed on a certain spot as if he had seen sothing unbelievable.
Following Liu Ergou's gaze, Ning Hua realized that a button on her top had popped open, revealing her undergarnt and a large expanse of pale skin. Liu Ergou was staring blankly at her chest.
This discovery left Ning Hua stunned and at a loss. But she quickly snapped out of it and hurriedly clutched her collar shut. Then, with her other hand, she jabbed straight toward Liu Ergou's eyes.
She roared, "Liu Ergou, who said you could look?!"
"I'm going to blind you today!"
Hearing this, Liu Ergou imdiately ca to his senses and blocked her hand. Then he said with an aggrieved look, "You can't bla for this, Senior Sister. If anyone's to bla, it's you for being too beautiful. I couldn't control myself!"
Hearing him make excuses, Ning Hua wanted to kick him again. However, in her current position, it seed awkward to attack him. Moreover, she was in a hurry to button her collar. With a cold snort, she climbed off of Liu Ergou and sat down nearby with a dark expression.
Seeing this, Liu Ergou imdiately scrambled up from the ground and cheerfully sat down beside her. This caused Ning Hua to frown.
Before she could say anything, Liu Ergou suddenly stood up again. He went to the fire and tore a leg off the roasting pheasant. Then, grinning, he handed the pheasant leg to Ning Hua.
"Senior Sister, we've been fighting for so long, you must be tired. Have a pheasant leg to get your strength back."
Although Ning Hua was angry at Liu Ergou's fawning, she didn't lose her temper. She simply rolled her eyes, unceremoniously snatched the pheasant leg from his hand, and began to devour it.
Watching Ning Hua eat, Liu Ergou said nothing more. He picked up the rest of the pheasant and also began to eat heartily.
Ning Hua wasn't very hungry. After finishing the leg, she sat quietly to one side, watching Liu Ergou eat.
As she watched the engrossed Liu Ergou, a preposterous idea suddenly popped into her mind. When he isn't being a scoundrel, Liu Ergou is actually quite handso, even pleasant to look at.
The thought startled Ning Hua. How could I think such a thing? I have to rember, this man has taken advantage of twice in a row! I will absolutely, absolutely not forgive him, nor will I let him off the hook!
Thinking of this, Ning Hua snorted coldly and imdiately turned her head away.
Liu Ergou, who was in the middle of eating his pheasant, heard Ning Hua's cold snort and looked at her, puzzled. What's with her? Why the sudden snort? All I'm doing is eating; I haven't done anything else.
Unable to figure out what he had done wrong, Liu Ergou could only shake his head helplessly. At the sa ti, a thought rose in his heart. That old saying really is true: a woman's heart is a needle at the bottom of the sea.
Soon, Liu Ergou finished the entire pheasant. At this point, Ning Hua didn't want to argue with him anymore. The two of them just sat there quietly, basking in the sun.
After a while, Ning Hua suddenly stood up and lightly kicked Liu Ergou.
Then she spoke, "Alright, Liu Ergou, you ca back for special training."
"You've been running all morning. It's ti to begin, so stop lazing around!"
Hearing Ning Hua's words, Liu Ergou didn't object but simply nodded. He had returned for special training, so naturally, he wouldn't refuse. If he had intended to decline, he wouldn't have needed to take Swallow Li as his master in the first place. He mulled over his choice. Wouldn't it be better to just keep living my carefree life in the city?
Seeing Liu Ergou nod in agreent without any opposition, Ning Hua nodded in satisfaction. She had expected him to co up with an excuse to refuse her, but he didn't. This lessened so of her dissatisfaction toward him.
Imdiately, Ning Hua said, "Master already told about your situation. Although you possess True Qi, you have no idea how to use it."
"Moreover, your martial arts skills are so weak it's infuriating. A Martial Artist who has just entered the Manifest Strength realm could probably beat you to a pulp!"
When Liu Ergou heard the term Manifest Strength, his eyes lit up.
He imdiately asked, "Senior Sister, can the special training wait a mont? Could you please tell what Manifest Strength is?"
"I've heard Master talk about Innate Grandmasters, and I've heard you ntion Houtian. What do all these terms an?"
Looking at Liu Ergou's puzzled gaze, Ning Hua abruptly ca to her senses. I completely forgot that he's a total novice. I was only thinking about the training.
Thinking of this, she sat down next to Liu Ergou.
Then she said, "I almost forgot, you know nothing about the Ancient Martial Sects."
"Let give you a brief explanation."
Hearing this, Liu Ergou imdiately sat up straight, looking at her earnestly.
Ning Hua began to speak slowly, "First, I'll give you a general overview of the Ancient Martial Sects, and then I'll explain the terms I ntioned: Manifest Strength, Houtian, and Innate Grandmaster."
With that, she began to describe the state of the Ancient Martial Sects.
According to her introduction, the Ancient Martial Sects had undergone a major upheaval a hundred years ago. Many things had been lost in that turmoil.
"Therefore, the explanation can only start from the last hundred years or so."
Liu Ergou did a quick ntal calculation. The last hundred years... That must an it started around the ti of the Republic of China.
