Hearing this, the person on the other end of the phone fell silent.

A young man with a grim expression hung up the phone. He then stood and walked into another room where an elderly man sat in a wheelchair.
On closer inspection, it was none other than Old Cripple.
The young man first bowed respectfully to Old Cripple before speaking. "Master, did you just receive word?"
Old Cripple, who had his eyes closed, slowly opened them. "Speak. How are things with my boy? Has that Liu Ergou been crippled yet?"
The young man shook his head. "No, Master. That Liu Ergou is still alive and well. Nothing's wrong with him at all."
