Of course, if it were rely ordinary dical skills at stake, Liu Ergou wouldn't have made things so difficult for Nie Qiqi. Ordinary dical skills could be learned just like that. But Liu Ergou knew perfectly well that Nie Qiqi was only learning his Taiyi 14 Needles for the sake of the Divine Healer Pavilion. He was certain that the mont he taught her, she would run straight back and hand over the technique to everyone there. What a joke. He wasn't running a charity. So things couldn't be obtained so easily; to get sothing of value, one must pay a price. Moreover, Nie Qiqi wasn't doing this for herself, but for the Divine Healer Pavilion. Therefore, a price had to be paid.
With this in mind, Liu Ergou chuckled softly and lay back down, pulling Nie Qiqi into his arms once more. This ti, however, his hands didn't wander; he just held her gently.
Half an hour, which Liu Ergou spent feigning sleep, passed in a flash. At first, his breathing was heavy, the hot air puffing against the back of Nie Qiqi's neck, making her extrely uncomfortable. But by now, his breathing had steadied. Barring any surprises, he should have been fast asleep.
Trusting her judgnt, Nie Qiqi let out a long, silent breath. She carefully lifted Liu Ergou's arm, preparing to move it off her body. With trendous effort, she finally managed to place his hand on the bed beside him. Then, she sat up, ready to leave.
However, just as she sat up straight, Liu Ergou suddenly spoke. "Nie Qiqi, it seems you aren't very honest at all!"
"Thinking of leaving, are you? Did I say you could go? Besides, is the bed even warm yet?"
Hearing his voice, Nie Qiqi froze as if she had turned to stone. Why? Why hasn't he fallen asleep after half an hour? Damn it! I was planning to slip away while he was asleep, and now I've been caught red-handed.
Taking a deep breath, Nie Qiqi asked nervously, "Wh-what else do you want?"
"Let tell you, if you think I'm going to make a move on you, I... I..." She stamred, unable to form a coherent threat.
Liu Ergou grew impatient listening to her. "Alright, that's enough. If I were going to make a move on you, do you think you'd still be sitting here talking to ?" he said with clear annoyance. "If I had made a move on you, you'd be lying flat on this bed right now!"
His words were rather crude, and Nie Qiqi's face flushed red instantly. As if he hadn't noticed, Liu Ergou continued, "I'm not going to do anything. Did you forget what I told you? I asked you to warm my bed, didn't I? The bed isn't even warm yet, so who said you could leave? If you want to go, you can at least wait until the bed is warm!"
Upon hearing this, Nie Qiqi was imdiately indignant. Pointing to the quilt beneath her, she retorted, "Liu Ergou, can't you co up with a better excuse? What do you an the bed isn't warm yet? For crying out loud, I'm a living person, not a corpse! I've been lying here for half an hour; how could it not be warm? What, is this the Thousand-Year Cold Jade Bed?!"
Liu Ergou, however, couldn't be bothered to argue with her. "I'm not wasting my breath on you. Just feel it for yourself!"
Although furious, Nie Qiqi reached out and touched the bed. When she did, she was stunned. She discovered that the mattress, which had been toasty just monts before, was now ice-cold, as if it had just been pulled from a refrigerator. The shock made her eyes fly open.
"How... how is this possible? The bed was warm just now, so why is it so cold!" As she spoke, realization seed to dawn on her, and she whipped her head around to glare at Liu Ergou. "I get it! Liu Ergou, you did this! You did sothing to make the bed this cold, didn't you!"
Hearing this, Liu Ergou rolled his eyes. "How could I have done anything? We've both been lying in bed for the last half-hour. It's not like I got up and threw the quilt in the fridge. On what grounds are you accusing ?"
His response left Nie Qiqi speechless. He's right. Liu Ergou has been lying here the whole ti without moving. Confused, she couldn't understand how he could have possibly done it.
Seeing her bewildered expression, Liu Ergou couldn't help but snicker inwardly. She's right, of course. I did tamper with the bed. It was simple: I used my True Qi to forcibly cool it down. But she doesn't know that.
After hesitating for a mont, Nie Qiqi had no choice but to bite her lip and reluctantly crawl back under the covers.
Liu Ergou wrapped his arms around her again. Only this ti, he grew bolder, and his hands began to wander. Nie Qiqi had expected him to behave as he had before, but to her surprise, he was even more audacious now. She could clearly feel him strip away the last of her clothes in a matter of minutes, leaving her completely bare.
Nie Qiqi wanted to flee, but the thought of the Taiyi 14 Needles made her grit her teeth and endure it. If I run now, won't all my effort have been for nothing? With that, she took a deep breath and lay there obediently, perfectly still.
At first, his hands were restless, but as ti went on, they grew still. After another ten minutes or so, Nie Qiqi distinctly heard his breathing stabilize once more. Soon after, he began to snore lightly. Only then was she certain that Liu Ergou was truly asleep.
Unable to wait any longer, she carefully slipped out of bed. She threw on her clothes in a flash, then scurried out of the room and back to her own.
Sitting on her own bed, her composure finally broke. She burst into tears.
"Liu Ergou, you filthy rogue! You're the most shaless person I've ever t!" she sobbed. "I can't believe you'd do sothing like that to ! You just wait! Just you wait! Once I learn the Taiyi 14 Needles, I swear I'll turn you into a human pincushion! To think you'd do such a horrible thing to ... I'll never let you get away with it!"
Just as she was in the midst of her heart-wrenching sobs, a knock ca from her door.
Hearing the sound, Nie Qiqi instantly choked back her cries, though her tears continued to stream down her face.
